Unfortunately, my holding was invested (during a trade) on some shitcoin and now holding and trading a small amount of bitcoin. Most likely I will buy some if incase found a hard dip. But I don't think so we will see any hard dip.

the potential for decline will always be there, just like the middle of this year, bitcoin has dropped significantly. maybe in the middle of next year we can be given the opportunity to have more Bitcoin.
believe me bitcoin won't be short lived. Smiley

I discussed this a little in my bitcointalk interview where I wrote about not having bought bitcoins directly, I have only earned them through different means both on the forum and off it. This is however not because I do not want to risk exchanging fiat for bitcoins, but most of my earnings are received in bitcoins so it makes up majority of my overall portfolio.

It's surprising how many people in the thread are also in the same category of having never bought. Although the poll may be a bit skewed as most of the Bitcoin OGs who would have bought are probably no longer very active and would not come across this post

I voted, never been bought.

Before the 2017 ATH, I started collecting Bitcoin and never bought it, fortunately, I was able to accumulate almost a whole number of Bitcoin back then.  But like with others said above, I also sell my Bitcoin every time I needed and if not I hold it.

I keep on trading to accumulate a higher number of Bitcoins but unfortunately, I wasn't able to regain the highest number of Bitcoins that I had back then(just a fraction number not even a whole number of Bitcoin).  I started to collect in Satoshi's (earned it through some medium) but eventually, it grew due to trading and I also do exchanges, sometimes I sell products or render services to my peers in an exchange for Bitcoins, maybe I just love Bitcoin too much that I really exert effort to enrich my portfolio.

And now, I started collecting again after I spent all my Bitcoin due to the pandemic.

At the beginning of my first introduction to Bitcoin, I was introduced by my neighbour, in 2015 to be precise. He taught me how to get bitcoins from faucet sites and participate in airdrops and give away. I continued to collect bitcoins until I sold them in mid-2017.

I can't recall the thread, but I think this subject has been discussed previously. Honestly, I hadn't bought a bitcoin directly. The first time I bought Payza and PM and invest somewhere. When I meet with Bitcoin then had withdrawn bitcoin from the platforms first time and that's how I involved with bitcoin.

Unfortunately, my holding was invested (during a trade) on some shitcoin and now holding and trading a small amount of bitcoin. Most likely I will buy some if incase found a hard dip. But I don't think so we will see any hard dip.

Definitely not everyone succeeds in the first few tries. If you've failed so far, go try again because the longer you wait, the harder it gets to reach one whole bitcoin as the price rises long-term.
I am now trying to find multiple ways to accumulate bitcoin. Trading is a difficult task for me and I wouldn't like losing my precious bitcoins in an attempt to gain more.

Just a quick reminder that you don't necessarily need to straight-off receive bitcoin. You could simply start a typical brick and mortar/online business and simply use the fiat earnings to buy bitcoin. You'd end up with the same goal in the end anyway: more bitcoin.

Nothing lasts forever

I last held almost 12 bitcoins in 2017, and in that very moment I actually spent them. not left till now. wrong strategy i did. probably obsessed with the first halving. that's an experience that I can't forget.

because before 2017, right 2015 and 2016 I spent two years collecting and miracles really came to my life.
Damn, that's a huge amount of bitcoins. I hope you still have a portion of it left.

That's an interesting poll, I'll try to remember to revisit it to see the results when more people vote (it's only 2 votes when I'm writing this).
I am excited about the results too but I am sure that the number of people who bought bitcoin will outweigh the other ones.
I just want to see how many have not bought bitcoins though  Grin

I do trading before so I already bought a bitcoin, but it was a big mistake of mine because I've done trading even though I don't have enough knowledge, I really think that watching some videos on youtube may help me earn money from trading but it's not that too easy.

That was a sad story, well we can't blame ourselves because cryptocurrency is unpredictable, no one knows that time that bitcoin could reach its value as of this day.

I have tried to acquire as much bitcoin(Satoshis actually, never accumulated a whole bitcoin  Cry  ) as I can and then traded it to increase my portfolio.

I have seen many people here on this forum who have never actually bought bitcoin including myself.
We are the guys who love bitcoin deeply and have explored different ways to acquire bitcoin.

The poll results won't matter much but it might motivate some people to find ways to acquire bitcoin too.
Also, it would be fun to see how many people are there who belong to same category.
Most probably these would be the early users who would fall in this category (not necessary though)

I'm like you, I've never bought BTC, but I have it. A friend of mine managed to accumulate even more this way and hodles about 1 BTC. As per your assumption, he joined the forum and got acquainted with cryptos earlier than I did.
I'd like to add, however, that I don't have any specific amount that I always live in BTC. I just sell when I need to and hodl when I don't, and on average I tend to have about $1k in BTC, and it's been like that for years regardless of BTC price.
