One of my clients is looking for an alternative of paying bounty campaign participants. Usually, we used to see paying with token/coin. That's what I recommended but he is looking for paying every participants with X amount of tickets. The jackpot details are below-

To purchase a ticket from Jumbo Ticket, a user have to register with us. Registering gives access to the user dashboard. From the user dashboard, along with other features, there is an option to choose from the 3 jackpots we offer. Once selected, a user can make payment using the crypto currencies we accept.

A user can also add fund using crypto currency to the wallet and use the wallet to complete the payment.

On every month 5th, we conduct live lottery draw via YouTube/ Facebook. We select 75 random winners for our 3 jackpots.
Would you participate in such a campaign where you will be paid through jackpot tickets?

As I can see, the poll answers your question unambiguously.

However, I would not be so pessimistic about proposing such a prize. I think the question is, is this lottery provably fair?
It is certainly important whether it would be a bounty pool (if so how big) or foxed number of ticket per user.
If the value of the tickets was large enough (it would have to be much larger than the standard bounty), then I think there could be interest among users.

I think there's this type of campaign years ago and there will be participants that would like to join even if the payment would be a lottery ticket but likely not that much.

Those that are lurking in the forum and just want to spend their free time and getting those tickets, they're the ones that likely to join it. That 75 winners, if there are thousands or hundreds of it, they'll still consider the little chance that they win.

Definitely No, the chances of winning is very slim and you have to fund your wallet to participate if I read correctly, at the end of it all, you may end up not chosen through out the lottery process and that means doing free advertising for a very clever project. I will stick to the old ways. Smiley
Better to accept or gain useless tokens rather than on getting lottery tickets which we dont even know if those lotteries are fair or not and we know the odds or chances of winning is slim
which is indeed means that it would be ending up on free advertising. A very clever way to have some exposure on just spending a small amount of lottery jackpot?

Wont be surprised if there would be no bounty hunters would be joining on this one.ITs always been preferred on getting project coins
than with lottery tickets.

We have an experience in one of the signature campaigns (without names  Cheesy) that paid users $15 in Bitcoin and the rest as NFTs, which was supposed to be worth $200, some succeeded in selling those tokens at half price during the first weeks and we all failed to sell them at any price in the weeks Last.

  • In the end we only got $15 Bitcoin and a lot of promises.
  • a portion of that $15 was lost because of the gas fee.
  • Selling tickets will lead to discontent among subscribers and you will only find posts of low quality.

Solution, if they/the site has their own token, just pay the participant with their token, or input the balance into the participant's account/week according to their rank, if they want to add jackpot ticket, that's even better.

This is the best solution the participants want to be rewarded and they don't want to gamble their effort, I will not participate if there is no guarantee that I will get paid, participating in a lottery is good but not on a bounty campaign where you spend your time and effort, I'm not surprised that no one thinks that this idea is a good idea.

One of my clients is looking for an alternative of paying bounty campaign participants. Usually, we used to see paying with token/coin. That's what I recommended but he is looking for paying every participants with X amount of tickets. The jackpot details are below-
Means: participants who are officially accepted into the campaign, get tickets:xx, jackpot, without them making a bet, I think this kind of system is very burdensome for campaign participants.
Questions, which must be asked.
1. How much is the value of one ticket obtained for campaign participants, is it adjusted according to their ranking.

We select 75 random winners for our 3 jackpots.
2. What, if they/campaign participants, are not in the random list of jackpot draws, other names come out, other than campaign participants, meaning they are not paid anything, they advertise the campaign for free.
3. Do participants only get tickets, without the btc that is entered in their account.

I think a system like this, burdensome for campaign participants, maybe no followers for that campaign.

Let's simplify things, signature campaign members are looking for the best way to get paied, while the campaign manager is trying to keep expenses as minimum as possible.

Now to the idea of tickets, will members earn more money? Absolutely not, as you mentioned, the campaign owner did not pay directly because he wants to reduce expenses, and therefore paying using tickets means that the user

 - will not receive fixed payments.
 - needs to be lucky to get the money.
 - Amounts will always be less than the fixed payment.

The best thing you can do is pay 90% of the money directly and think of some creative way for the remaining 10%.

I would end up getting nothing from my effort if none of my tickets won, I prefer 50/50 where I will get paid with the tradeable coin not necessarily Bitcoin but at the same time have a chance to win huge prizes with lottery tickets, if the project launch that kind of campaign I doubt if he can get enough participants to maximize his promotion.

I think in the end it comes down to the expected value of the lottery jackpot tickets. This feels like a way to cheap out and underpay participants rather than an innovative alternative to traditional payment schemes. For example, if a user got 1 ticket per week, and that ticket has a 5% chance to win $1600 (EV = $80), I think you'd be able to attract some people (though it'll probably be more attractive to just pay them the $80). If a user gets 1 ticket per week, and that ticket has a 0.1% chance to win $10000, you're going to struggle to attract participants.

Keep in mind that anyone interested in gambling with their signature campaign earnings can simply gamble it at any dice site to simulate a 1% lottery with whatever multiplier they want.

The majority would like to pay or prefer to get weekly fixed BTC it's not that they don't trust lotteries they don't know the site where they can participate in the lottery and the lottery is not a guarantee that you can win anything you can participate in ten weeks of the campaign and will not win you anything, whereas on getting paid with Bitcoin your effort is rewarded.

I prefer to go with NO.

Lotteries are not transparent. Even if this is transparent still it's like gambling. Signature campaigns or bounty campaigns are designed to get paid instantly especially the bitcoin paid campaigns. Users are even happy with lesser pay rate than having a campaign paying high but with token.

Would you participate in such a campaign where you will be paid through jackpot tickets?

Nope because there are chances that we will not get paid if we are not lucky on the lottery and much better if I join on a campaign which give direct payment in form of btc or alts if they are good so that may efforts made to them will be paid. Looks like your client is trying to cut their marketing cost and want massive campaigns by paying less to selected participants and I doubt it will work here.

Yeah, maybe that will be possible. But that will at the end also make my campaign management skill questionable I think.

I really wouldn't be surprised if people look at it as something questionable, but really, as long as you're actually picking people at random(and not something fixed/pre-picked), then I really don't see anything morally/ethically wrong with it.

Overall, that doesn't sound interesting to me. However, I would be asking, how much or what is the jackpot prize? How many lottery tickets would usually be raffled per month? Of course, the fairness of the raffle draw should also be provable.

Also, how much is the price per ticket and how many tickets would be given to participants? I guess that would also help interested participants to make a decision whether it is worth participating or not.

While, in general, I'm not that interested in this kind of arrangement, the details could convince me otherwise.

If there's no way to verify they don't get to pick who wins and that no participant is made-up by their system, I don't think it's a good idea...

Would you participate in such a campaign where you will be paid through jackpot tickets?
Not that appealing for me as a bounty hunter since we know the odds of hitting lottery which is almost close to impossible and also you cant assure if there would be lottery to be held or would be totally fair.

For sure most of bounty hunters wont really agree with this kind of terms and much preferable if they would still able to get or earn tokens even though its value is still undetermined or no assurance.

I doubt that there would be joiners of this particular bounty.

Is this signature campaign or some other kind of forum campaign?
Either signature campaign or a traditional social media bounty campaign is the destination. As like the poll vote and peoples opinion, I too think that there won't be a lot of people who will be interested.

I personally wouldn't. But I'm pretty sure that if the requirements and application acceptance criteria are low enough, I'm pretty sure a lot of people would be interested. This would be a lot more for the low-mid ranks as far as I see.

Is this signature campaign or some other kind of forum campaign?

Let's be realistic and see what percentage of people participating in gambling and jackpots are actually receiving those jackpot rewards.
It's only small percentage of people, while house is taking most of the profit, and in this case they would be basically receiving free advertisement from most forum members.
I don't know how many members should receive jackpot from this campaign if total number of winners is 75 random users, maybe one or two, and maybe nobody from forum members.
