Poloniex used to be one of my favourite exchanges, but that time has passed, I've moved over to Bittrex and Kraken.

If it's true that they're on the verge of insolvency, it's no surprise that they're going to keep all the users' BCH for themselves.
That might keep them from going bankrupt.

Are they still delaying withdraws btw? Did anyone get their BTC out of there before August 1?

I had a withdrawal for 9 days pending but it just came through on the 31st.. in time to be credited BCcash

Another problem, waiting for 9 days? Poloniex has ruined their reputation and all of those little problems have been accumulated.
At least they have warn people to move out from their exchange, as they don't want to give you bcash obviously.
Slow response and withdrawal delays may be a good sign to immediately get out from long time ago before you regret it.
Always remember, exchanges has created for trading purpose, not to keep your money, so get in and get out as fast as possible.

Because a lot of people still have money in there. They are just worrying if the polo goes scam like mtgox. I've heard the polo already released the changed terms for the users. And that gives the more restrict to the poloniex users. And especially the cs is unresponsive.

Account verification has always been required. Did they change the tier levels/requirements? I wish I checked before I left for work this morning. Tier 1 has always worked for my needs, although it's been a hassle a few times after some big altcoin moves. I'm hoping I don't have to send my docs to yet another shady exchange...

in the half of this year is the beginning poloniex require account verification...
its to increase security for all of the user...but for now we have to move our coins to the others wallet...
untill the poloniex fix issue of it.. Smiley Smiley

Just read the terms i didn't find anything wrong in it it's just like the normal terms of mostly all exchanges only the margin trading had changed and account verification has become a must. It's time to say goodbye to poloniex it was a really good exchange but 2017 seems like a really and year in terms of exchanges

Guys please stop using them. This has all the flags that Cryptsy had years ago. I had 23 BTC stored there. Then they got "hacked" and the owner mysteriously disappeared. Seriously this is exactly the same. Slow/missing deposits, delays, no support, removal of features, questionable decisions all over the place. Seriously GET OUT NOW WHILE YOU CAN. Bittrex works great and has no red flags at this time. They do not have the same number of coins supported, but having your coins is better than not!

Been preaching this from the beginning of time that Polo is real bad and now they're trying to pull a quick one on its large user base. As much as I used to hate Polo for its shitty support system, the quality of the site kept degrading with time and they didn't even bother to keep their support team updated. If you're still using this exchange, better withdraw all your coins and move to Bittrex or Kraken.
I can make a vouch too , that the customer service they have is so slow.
I never satisfy whenevet i have problem there and solved for long time more than it supposed to be cleared.
The latest issue is about how they did not offering bitcoin cash to its users , getting more and more trouble i will completely leave them.

Can anyone give a run-down on the changes to Polo's terms? I skimmed through it, but I couldn't find anything that jumped out at me. Is the consensus that these changes were provoked by the BTC-e takedown? Or something else?

I've got a few coins there.....maybe it's time to move them to a local wallet.

there is alot red flag to poloniex. don't keep your coins their wallets.

I don't understand Bitcoin Users or Alternative Coin holders, why do they need to save their coins in exchanges? Many people suggested that they not save their coins here because it is not safe. Keep your coins into a wallet where you can hold it's private key.

Just don't understad what has happened to Poloniex? They used to be one of the best nad trustworthy exchangers and recently there are so many issues with their services and even scam accusations. They shouldn't allow this to happen and if they continue so they will lose all their clients. At the end the question should be asked is there any reliable exchanger that sooner or later doesn't fall into similar situation?

I have no problem with Polo and it update so far,
the split of forking coin is the main concern that future forked coin may not be shared,... I dont know about this,
lets see if Polo would be fair

the problem is, there could be hundreds or thousands of forks, and it's impossible to expect exchanges to support every one. it seems there was enough demand from customers to force exchanges to act in this case. but it takes a lot of preparation for exchanges, and there are risks from network instability (double spends) and replay attacks.
