Golden rule will always remain golden which is never leave bulk of your fund on exchange sites not only because they are targets of hackers but in addition to that, they might go against with their own policies which you can't do anything about and because they are big enough, they care less about you. To add more insult to injury, they don't notify you of their policies of activating anything that affects you but when its time for you to lose your money, they get in touch such as the listing of coins or some ICOs, this is not limited to Poloniex alone.

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about it if its their policy and for them to ignore you for months means they are not ready to do anything about it. Way out, is to go find a way to do your verification if that is what they needed and get your funds out of there ASAP.

if anything, it has marginally improved as traders moved to bittrex en masse.

Funny thing (actually not that funny) is that they ditched Poloniex in the hope of having a better and more user friendly platform to trade on (which is Bittrex), but have landed themselves in another round of problems resulting in basically the same type of complaints. Bittrex for quite a long time managed to remain a fairly stable exchange in times of more regulations taking place, but it has completely turned into something I see as rather negative. In easy terms, Bittrex isn't much better than Poloniex in that regard, but I doubt that traders will now ditch Bittrex -- where else will they then move to? Poloniex and Bittrex are the top tier altcoin exchanges.

personally, i'm terrified to leave any funds on either exchange anymore. i am adamantly opposed to giving these unlicensed exchanges scans of my passport and utility bills, social security number, etc. i think anyone who is willing to do so is either crazy or is becoming too filthy rich trading altcoins to care about the safety of their identity and credit report.

since a couple months ago, i've left my bittrex and poloniex accounts empty. i use shapeshift and changelly for coins, and etherdelta for ERC20 tokens. that means that for smaller coins, i'm shit out of luck right now.

i can't wait until the decentralized exchange (DEX) coins take off. bridgecoin and komodo both have promising technology and awesome UX for a beta product. but we are a long ways away from sufficient liquidity to compete with the centralized exchanges.

This has been an ongoing problem in this exchange. Their communication from their support has been lacking for months now and you will be considered "lucky" if they get ever replied by them.

it goes a bit deeper than this. the support ticket backlog going back to ~ may of this year is nothing new. but this new rash of users having their accounts dropped to $0 daily withdrawal limit is a new complaint that has emerged over the last couple weeks. i really wish we had some idea of how many accounts are affected.

what scares me the most about this is that the people complaining have VERY LARGE accounts. i'm not going to come out and say that poloniex is insolvent. but as an outsider, the situation seems to be getting worse.

anyone who can still get their money off the site should do so now.

I wouldn't say that it's getting worse. The sheer amounts of poloniex complaints back a few months ago is still unmatched at this stage. However i think we're seeing a lot more people with high portoflio values taken down by poloniex.

my point was not that the support backlog has gotten worse. if anything, it has marginally improved as traders moved to bittrex en masse.

my point is that previously anyone undergoing verification still had a $2000/day withdrawal limit. this limit is seemingly being revoked in some cases, and for all we know, this could be rolled out as a matter of policy.

it looks to me like they might remove tier 1 verification ($2000/day limit). or maybe they are insolvent, as they seem to be targeting high value accounts now. either way, stay away from poloniex.

If you are storing so much btc in an exchange in the first place, then you should be prepared for a hack/suspension of your account. Expect the worst.

fair enough, but remember, BTC is up 10x in price over the last year. and many of the altcoins on poloniex had much bigger gains than that. a $5000 account a year ago could have six figures trapped in it now, even if the account holder was withdrawing the max every day.

I remember that there used to be a site suepoloniex.today, but now that site is down.

So sorry to hear this. But I cant understand why they are doing this to you alone. Did you do anything with your account or did you use proxy something like that to open your account? They must have noted some kind of illegal activity in your account. That's why they blocked your withdrawal. Poloniex is a good exchange and Ialways use that exchange for buying coins. Till this date I haven't faced any issues. The only thing you can do is contact their customer support by mail or through phone and try to explain your condition or if possible try to go in person or send somebody you know (who is residing in US)to their office and check with them. That's all you can do .

WOW !! you are too brave to save that much money on an exchange, that much money is very risky to be save in exchange site

It's quite a decent amount, but there is no need to exaggerate things. There are enough people with hundreds of thousands of dollars, even millions, worth of crypto sitting in their exchange accounts. Other than that, it's not only Poloniex suffering from these same complaints -- Bittrex is also moving in that direction due to the governments putting pressure on these exchanges. It just shows that these exchanges aren't capable of handling everything properly like other exchanges are doing, and that while Bittrex and Poloniex are the top altcoin exchanges of this market....

WOW !! you are too brave to save that much money on an exchange, that much money is very risky to be save in exchange site, you should have anticipated it by way of a verified account. How much you made a ticket there? Poloniex support is very bad so I'm not strange if your ticket still has not received a response from poloniex support. Keep making complaints there and on twitter poloniex. I wish you the best, God bless you.

It's a lot of money you are talking about, there should be some institutional way to get it back.
It's such a shame for Poloniex, they used to be one of the best exchangers and Bitcoin platforms but then so much scam accusations appeared and seems like they are running some shady business. But don't give up, you got to get your money back.

Thankfully, I already withdrew my funds from them without any problem, though, that is a very small amount compared to yours. My advice is to never stop messaging them and use their other social media channels. Contact them in Twitter, Reddit, etc. That's the only thing that you could do right now. The money that is staked here is very big so giving up is out of the question.

Make an account on reddit, and then send a private message to https://www.reddit.com/user/Mike-Poloniex, who is an employee of Poloniex. Include your ticket number, date you made the ticket and details of what your isue is.

(to send a private message, click "send a private message" on the top right hand side of the above url.

Good luck!

Ohh, this is weird. What i can guess is that this happens when your account is not verified.
I urge you to provide all necessary information to make your account fully verified.
Next, find their social media official profiles and discuss the issue. I hope poloniex will not ignore any complaints that are publicly discussed against them.

you should report your case to the police, it would be best if you could hire a lawyer and travel to the USA to personally claim at poloniex headquarters
already has thousands of people who complain about the poor services provided by poloniex

Damn, really strange. A friend of mine did perform a successful $500 withdrawal yesterday. R u sure you have not just went over your daily limit. You know there is such thing on Polo. It does reset after 24 hours.

Pretty sure it's not, since OP claims that he has a ongoing support ticket that is also unanswered for "months".

Not sure if you can even take any legal actions, are you even located in the same country as poloniex? If no then basically you'll have to depend on them keeping their word, which they demonstrated that they cannot back in June-July.

I would suggest switching exchanges if you do get your funds out. Poloniex is unpredictable.

That's pretty brutal. You'd have to speak to your lawyer about this, i'm absolutely no expert in law but i'm going to tell you it's going to be a long and tedious process for sure if they do not comply or at least respond to your support tickets.

Not the first time they've done this either.

Try to communicate with them, even if they do not respond, at least that builds up your case.

I believe there are other people who are in the same boat as you. I've been with Poloniex before but because of the withdrawal issues, I quickly pull out my funds there. Fortunately, I was able to do it but there are others who are still stuck and most of them have significant amount there. It seems that their support are not quite responsive because there are a lot of tickets line up. For filing legal claims, it is stated in their terms and conditions that "all users trading on the platform waive their right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration" so you might consider this when you are planning to take action.

oooh boy. Try your best to contact their customer support. If you don't get any replies by a week, expose them on social media (Twitter, Reddit, etc). They've been quite fishy for months already; a lot of people having the same issues as you. After getting your coins/fiat, I suggest transferring to a different exchange.
