Hi, I checked my wallet on blockchain and saw that my lost bitcoin which one I am waiting for recover, transferred to " 1FPjzeLsuYZeu7XZMYPuBLdgML5kDhbqjV " .. But bitcoin didnt deposited to my Poloniex account. what does it mean ? why they didnt deposit my bitcoin to my account ? Sad( I dont understand what is going on ? Does anyone have an idea about this?

Looks like it has only been a day old. I'd give it more time. It will probably be manually credited to you hence why it wouldn't be that fast. Nevertheless, you should contact support ASAP to get reassured and maybe give a heads up to them as well.

P.S. after almost half a year, it's nice to see some progress on your case OP  Cheesy

Looks like they recovered your bitcoins. maybe time to send them another email. Please stay away from these shady exchanges & always do a test transaction.

One thing I don't know. Did you emphasize that you accept to pay support fee to recover your BTC? You don't have to paste it here because it breaks your personal information. Just say yes or no.

I think if you show that intention to pay support fee, it can boost the progress. Only if they really intend to support you.


Hi, thank you for your reply.. They didnt ask me anytime fee for recover. I think 3-4 month ago I wrote them that I can pay fee for recover service but I don't know if they will consider it. any way I know that I have to wait and I can not do anythink more but its really hard to wait when I need this btc... thanks.

It is very possible.

It is not their priority to expose their private key to recover your crypto.

The support staff pinpointed the rule that you must afford your loss if you made mistake with your transactions. As I said months ago, you should afford your loss.

Fortunately, again they don't say they will not support you so please keep in contact with them via your support ticket. Bump it after each 2 weeks.

Think positive canyalos1. If they finally recover your money, in December, Bitcoin might have higher price than now.  Smiley

Be patient, your problem is very serious and requires technical matters. I believe that email and live chat support does not have the competence to deal directly. They will keep giving the same reply over and over again as long as they don't get any updates from their technical team. They must have had an undisclosed reason why it took so long.


By the way, I strongly discourage publishing your complaint ticket number. Remember, scammers anda impersonators are everywhere.

I have no idea in this regard, maybe asking for things that can speed up the recovery process and your availability provides any information needed on it. 0.4 BTC is a huge amount from my point of view, maybe they can refund but need some investigation beforehand. The thing to remember is that you are sending btc from an address that you do not control. Your BTC is sent from the binance hot wallet.

As you have stated, a staff member in your employ has sent BTC to your USDTOMNI wallet. This is a cross-chain transaction, and as stated within the deposit message of USDTOMNI (along with all other currencies): Sending any other asset to this address may result in the loss of your deposit
 
We understand the frustration regarding this case, but this is something that we are attempting to rectify, but there is no timeline given, nor a guarantee of the recovery of said funds. Please also refer to our user agreement, specifically section 5 stating: If you send a Digital Asset to a Poloniex address that is unable to receive that specific Digital Asset, or if you make any typos or inaccuracies in the wallet address, such Digital Asset may be lost forever.
 
We will attempt to recover this transaction for you, and we will be in touch should/when we make any progress related to this matter.

Sure. They will use their ban hammer if you or anyone else spam in the troll box.

Spam in the troll box, in this topic or on Poloniex social media won't help you. The only way for you to keep up your hope is support ticket and email back and forth with Poloniex. Use only one ticket that you created months ago, bump it and repeat your request to their support.

Don't hope high as said and only do the right things at right place (support ticket + email).

Your coins are unmoved still - which means they technically didn't steal your coins, but this case is a shame. Poloniex as an exchange with many years of experience should have fixed this in a maximum of two weeks - and yeah, that is already way too much time for such an easy task.

At least you can rest assured, no one touched your coins yet. They just seem to be unable or unwilling to fetch their private key and fix your issue. In no case that would be okay.

Thank you for your reply. Yes I fund some post on bitcointalk who had the same issue with Poloniex. Their problem solved in max 1 month but mine already passed 5 month. I really dont know what I have to do.  I can not contact directly their Tech. Team so they dont give me any information about of my ticket.

While browsing for similar situations (as I did in my first reply) I've found your reddit profile where I saw that you already exposed the situation on their sub as well[1] - although you have removed the post meanwhile. I also saw that you had a early complain[2] where you also had other members telling you that they are in the same boat as you and it seems like that they already went to a lawyer to have justice made.

They seem to be very unable to help you on live chat so I guess I'll would send them a weekly e-mail regarding my open ticket and their inability to solve the issue - if they won't do it at least they should already come forward and just say it, it's worse leaving you in a "limbo" state. Sadly they have all the power in their hands in this case, and it seems that it's not the first time that they do this to their users ...

Hi, thank you for your reply. I already opened a court but the problem is I can not find their own adress and I dont know they have real office or they are virtual company. I find an adress which one is on island but I dont belive that in that island have any law. I think they especially moved their adress to this island. As a result I think they dont care about of me.. But I dont understand IF they dont want to solve my issue why they dont say me ...

Hi, today 105th day and still support didnt solved my issue. I am tried to check my emails and write them email. Finally they replied me 31 days ago.  3-4 days ago I connected live chat on Poloniex and chat with support but I dont feel that they want to help me .. here is chat logs.. they always want to find some problem.. for example in this chat, admin write me about that they disabled OMNI network because of it problem didnt solved. But when I wrote them that I opened ticket while Omni network active, they always told me somethink different.

I also filed a complaint with the court, but they don't even have a real address. I do not know what to do..  I find them on Linkedin and wrote their support manager many times they didnt replied me and Linkedin freeze my account because of that they complained about me. I opened a ticket on Linkedin and unblock my account..  After that Poloniex ( [email protected] ) this email adress sent me email and threatened me.

And today when I asked about of my ticket on trollbox , admins again banned me from trollbox.... Sad((

You can find lots of issue like me and exchange companies recover their bitcoin.  And I dont understand why they will lose their big fund. Poloniex dont support more OMNI protocol (30 April). They removed (OMNI) wallet from users account, I mean they dont have any fund on this private key.

I understand that I did mistake. For example you sent money to wrong IBAN from your bank, You can get you money back. its very simple, Banks help you because its possible..  I dont understand, What would you do if you were in my place ? ...
I have no reason to defend Poloniex or other exchanges.

Please read my posts earlier and few helpful posts of others. If you understood my posts and others, you will know you have only option. Use your support ticket (old one, only one ticket), bump it after a while sometime. I told you earlier that you can bump your ticket weekly or bi-weekly, then wait.

Use the only one support ticket to catch their attention and wait, hope, that's all you can do.

The email you received recently reveals the fact I gave you. The more noise you make, the more unofficial channels you use to spread your case, your chance will be vanished. Because, their rules are clear "You will lose your money when you send it inaccurately".

You can only hope for their generous support. Not only Poloniex, many other exchanges won't give you support in such recovery case. Some will give support but charge very high recovery fees. Obviously, with 0.4 BTC, you can accept their fee but you must have their support. The must condition is not in your hands.

Hi, Today 50th day and still dont got any reply. Telegram and Trollbox mod. always told me that they still working to solve my issue. You still don't understand your situation. You must afford you loss at beginning and only can hope for magic support from Poloniex.

They did not do anything wrong if they won't recover your crypto because of your mistakes. Imagine, please, that if they expose their private key just because of support for your case, and lose their big fund by hackers.

You can blame them that they have no or terrible support but you should know it is a very common support policy on exchanges. When you send your cryptocurrency to wrong address, wrong chain, please afford for your loss.

Support is the last hope you have but chance is extremely low and bump your topic here means nothing with Poloniex. I don't call 0.4 BTC has a small value but with exchange like Poloniex, they can get it easily from customer trading fees, within one day.

Hi, I really dont understand you. Why are you constantly defending the Exchange company? You can find lots of issue like me and exchange companies recover their bitcoin.  And I dont understand why they will lose their big fund. Poloniex dont support more OMNI protocol (30 April). They removed (OMNI) wallet from users account, I mean they dont have any fund on this private key.

I understand that I did mistake. For example you sent money to wrong IBAN from your bank, You can get you money back. its very simple, Banks help you because its possible..  I dont understand, What would you do if you were in my place ? ...

It is normal when they stop USDT-OMNI support as planned and announced weeks ago. It is not a personal attack on you and your account.

Regarding to your account and request to recover your crypto, as I and others said.

- You are not in a position to request and get 100% support from Poloniex. Not only about Poloniex but also about any other centralized exchanges. It is your lesson so please remember it and never make same mistakes.
- Poloniex shown some vague supports for you. You have only choice, try to bump your support ticket after a while sometime. It can be weekly, bi-weekly or monthly bump. However, don't bump your ticket every day as it is superb annoying.
- Lastly, afford your loss if Poloniex won't support you at the end.
- Wait and hope, but afford for your loss with the prob for loss is 80 to 90%.

You might keep to bump your support ticket weekly or bi-weekly. Don't create any new support ticket and don't bump yours every day. It will be annoying and it only hurts your chance.

The process itself is not difficult. The difficult part is doings it in a way that protects the private keys of the exchange. Most likely, the private keys of the various coins they support are kept separate, and the devs probably need to perform ETL tasks to move the private keys from the infrastructure of one coin to another. This is most likely done on an ad-how basis, and many tests and approvals will likely be needed to ensure that no information is leaking and that customer money is kept safe.

I would anticipate a delay lasting months, hopefully it won’t be that long. You should follow up with them periodically. Posting in this forum will not accomplish anything.

They don't steal anything from you.

0.4 Bitcoin is 0.4 Bitcoin and it should be untouched by Poloniex. I believe they did not touch it. If they did not touch, they did not steal any Bitcoin or USD from you.

Please wait and beware of the risk on the side of Poloniex when they use private key to help you. You are not in the position to make demand on Poloniex and they are not in mandatory situation that they must help you.

1) Yes, covid is a bit of an excuse. But when you are talking about accessing CORPORATE private keys that probably contain a lot of money, you probably have to get several people in the same office at the same time for hardware verification and multisig. That has been slower due to the covid.

2) No longer supporting OMNI might actually be better. They might clear out all the old funds and use new keys just to make a clean cut from the old stuff.

3) As others have said there have been a few times in the past this has happened. Poloniex usually solved it. But it was months not days or weeks.
And now in addition to Covid, in the last 25 days you have had Easter, Passover, Hindi New Year and now we are in the middle of Ramadan. There just might have been fewer people around their offices over the last few weeks.

Usually exchanges take several months to do this.

If it's configured properly it's not difficult to do at all, it's a SECURITY issue.

When you move funds like this you have people with the private keys to other peoples coins. So ANYTHING linked to those keys ANYPLACE in the exchange now has to be considered compromised and insecure and new keys have to be generated and the funds moved.
 
Obviously this is a very simplified explanation but that is usually why it takes so long.

It is BTC address, not USDT address on OMNI layer. You can confuse that USDT address on OMNI layer has same address as BTC address but you have to be careful.

Send your BTC to your USDT address on OMNI layer on exchanges will result in loss. Many members wrote their advices above and they are correct. You are in bad situation and only can rely on Poloniex support.

Regarding to the USDT on OMNI layer, you can check Binance exchange that stops their support for this one too.

I suppose an analogy would be a fine-art storage company selling selfies with famous artworks.
It's annoying because:
 - Not asking was unprofessional.
- Taking a private key out of cold storage always has some amount of risk.
 - I now have to spend time on this drama.

The airdrop amount is unimportant, and I'd feel exactly the same if the airdrop amount was 100x more or 100x less. If I'd been holding the BTC, no airdrops would've been received at all, since I never participate in those.

Hi, Yesterday I got reply from  Poloniex vkontake offical page. They gave me e amil adress ( [email protected] ), I directly wrote email to him and I explaned the subject. He quickly answered me today as

" Okay! I understood you. I will make a request for your ticket.

I will write to you as I get information. "



And I got reply to my ticket . ( The same answer come again after 8 days. Today is the 24th day since I open the ticket )


I'm really tired. Why don't they tell me when it will end.  I spend all my time solving this problem, but I can't do anything. Who had similar problems they resolved within maximum1 week at the latest.

I dont know What should I do  Sad Sad

As long as they have the private key, they have the means to recover your coins and removing support for OMNI doesn't necessarily mean they are discarding those keys.

This email is basically about poloniex removing the altcoins BAS, DMG and COVER so the "please be sure to withdraw before..." warning is for people who has those coins in their exchange.

Anyway, they still haven't touched your coins which is good. When you said you wrote on twitter, did you mean this @PoloSupport? if not, pls also write to them.

And to these big subreddits as well. The goal is to gain enough attention for poloniex to notice you. Make a catchy title like "poloniex not responding for almost a month, $25K stuck!"

Each deposit address on CEX has its own private key which is stored by the exchange and is used to construct trigger contracts to the exchange's central wallet. cmiiw
Your only hope is that poloniex acknowledges that they still keep archived private keys of all USDT (Omni) deposit addresses including yours. They will use that privkey to access your wallet and send your BTC back.

There is a huge chance that these ppl won't just leave those huge amount of monies in limbo forever, there will come a time where the money pool is gonna be worth more than the workload needed to recover them so just say that you'd wait and monitor your cross-chain sent coins if they moved or not.

I want to say I didnt send any different btc wallet from my Poloniex account. I send accidentally bitcoin from my binance account to Poloniex usdt wallet.  I mean they can recover my bitcoin with usdt private key which one I sent bitcoin.  I read some post who had the same issue and they get back their bitcoins, and tether support reply me that Poloniex can recover it with private key.

Poloniex dont give me my usdt wallet private key. They told me they can not because of some security reason which one I do not understand.

Please do understand that private keys are, well, private. So it cannot simply be given away.

Of course, you need to make regular follow-ups through their official channels. Email them, chat with them, tweet them, make a topic about your case, and so on.

That is indeed a big amount not just for you but for everyone else. $25,500 is a big amount for everyone. Just continue to communicate with them and hopefully they will bring you good news soon.

If you sent 0.4 BTC, I think they will help you and recover the bitcoin for you, however I think it will take a long time because few employees have this kind of access, and the procedure to recover a deposit sent to an incorrect address type is high risk. I would suggest that you continue to follow up periodically.

You should be clear as to what you want them to do if they recover the bitcoin. Sending the bitcoin back to the address it was sent from will put you in the same situation, but with another exchange.

I don't know how these "refunds" usually proceed, but at least you should give them your Binance BTC address OR ask them to send that BTC to your BTC address within your Poloniex account.

No, they shouldn't do that! The address binance used to send the coins to Poloniex is most likely one of their hot wallets addresses and it's not the same as your binance deposit address.
If they send the coins back to that address, your binance account will not be credit and the coins will be lost again. Then, you'll have to contact Binance support to help you recover them!

The coins are very much recoverable if you had the private key of the address you sent them to. The problem is now whether poloniex, who have the private key will agree to help you recover the funds.

I have seen several cases like yours but involving different exchanges. A few I remember where involving coinbase and Kraken, but they never bothered to recover the funds for the victims. The most recent case was with Gemini, but support was kind, and they helped the person recover the coins. So it just depends on the policy of the crypto exchange. We just do hope Poloniex helps you out too.

I think you need to read their terms of use, as some platforms do not allow users to get any coins if you accidently sent it.
Some platforms allow this, but they refund that transaction to the address it was sent from, which is an address that belongs to Binance and may not be allowed to reuse them.
Finally, some platforms send them to an address of your choice.
In general, the matter needs to be investigated from the platform and to obtain some permissions so that you can recover your money.

So instead of acquiring your btc, you want to get the private key of that usdt wallet, which I don't think you will get. I think the best way is to contact the support team of poloniex exchange and say them that my fund which I have transferred by mistake should be returned to me in the same wallet from where i have sent, this is the best and easiest way.

If your lucky enough then you may get your btc otherwise, we can't do anything.

Some platforms allow this, but they refund that transaction to the address it was sent from, which is an address that belongs to Binance and may not be allowed to reuse them.
Finally, some platforms send them to an address of your choice.

Sending coins is a wrong address is a common problem that not so many exchanges help solve. I would not be surprised if poloniex don't help you with your problem but hang in there. Do not spam their email to an extent that they start ignoring your messages. Just give them time to respond to you and solve the problem.

I just went over to their Reddit sub[1] and you can see every now and then a post claiming about having delays with support and the lack of it [2][3][4]. Those are just some of the many examples you can find there.
I don't think you're not going to get a message back, what I do believe is that it will take some time. For the better (or worse) companies are using Covid as an excuse for almost everything, and this probably seems the case.

I would take your issue to Reddit (if you haven't done so) so that maybe someone in that sub already faced that experience and may be able to tell you how long it took. I would also try to contact them via twitter since nowadays companies also don't want any kind of bad "heat" being generated over them in that regard. One user in specific commented this (which may help you get any kind of answer):

Do not spam their email to an extent that they start ignoring your messages. Just give them time to respond to you and solve the problem.

I just went over to their Reddit sub[1] and you can see every now and then a post claiming about having delays with support and the lack of it [2][3][4]. Those are just some of the many examples you can find there.
I don't think you're not going to get a message back, what I do believe is that it will take some time. For the better (or worse) companies are using Covid as an excuse for almost everything, and this probably seems the case.

I would take your issue to Reddit (if you haven't done so) so that maybe someone in that sub already faced that experience and may be able to tell you how long it took. I would also try to contact them via twitter since nowadays companies also don't want any kind of bad "heat" being generated over them in that regard. One user in specific commented this (which may help you get any kind of answer):

Hi, I accidently sent (0.4) Btc from my Binance account to my Poloniex USDT wallet.  When I learned that I can recover my bitcoins, I opened ticket to Poloniex Support (18 days before). But still I can not get my btc back. They always reply me  that

"Thanks for your patience.
Our team is continuing to work on, and investigate this case. As soon as we have an update, we will follow up here.
Thank you for your understanding."

Also I already opened ticket to tether they reply me quickly (thanks Tether)

And I got email  from Team Poloniex 7 days ago that ;

"If you're receiving this message it is because you currently hold a balance in USDT, or have generated a USDT on OMNI address.
We want to clarify some confusion that has arisen from our last communication: We are not delisting USDT, we are removing the ability to interact with USDT on the OMNI protocol. USDT transactions will now be available via the ETH network and TRON network. All of your funds are safe.
USDT on OMNI is currently enabled. On April 30, 2021, we will migrate your USDT to a new chain. There is no action required on your part."


I want to know this modification will affect my process or not ?
