Aurora Pool is closing. Due to the extreme rise in the network difficulty and a lack of miners Aurora Pool can no longer support itself. We may reopen in the future but there is not currently a specific plan for that. Thanks to everyone who helped with tech advice and hashing power. Good luck to you all.

A month ago I heard a guy on CNBC saying bitcoin would go to 10k. I didn't believe it. Today I heard a different guy on CNBC say 40k. Should I believe that?

I just wanted to say thank you to all of the miners participating at aurorapool.net and to the kind souls that helped me figure out how to get the pool running (you know who you are).  We've managed to knock out 64+ blocks with very little down time. Payments are working smoothly. I've only had to field a few questions via [email protected] and the feedback has been very helpful. So thank you all.

For those who missed it: Aurora Pool 's promotional period is ending. The pool fee has been raised from 0% to 0.7% (yep still pretty low). Also the payout threshold is now 0.05 eth. Payouts now run every hour instead of 4 times daily. Questions can be asked in this thread or via email to [email protected] .

Can I have two Mist accounts on the same computer, you know, with two keystores?  If so can you tell how?

You can have as many accounts as you want. Each one has it's own key. The keystore is the place where the keys are kept. It doesn't really make sense to keep the keys in more than one place.

Claymore's miner can mine other cryptocurrencies, like Siacoin and Decred, while it mines ethereum.  I am working on a decred pool so that aurorapool users can dual mine.

To whoever it was that asked about the transaction fees the answer is yes they are paid out to the miners.

Is anyone else having trouble with nicehash or other cloud mining service, or any issue connecting to the pool for that matter? I am happy to help.

I am able to mine from Nicehash using the following pool settings:

Type Standard
Algorithm DaggerHashimoto
Pool aurorapool.net:8008
Username 0x
Password #

I found a FAQ on their site that mentioned the '#' is required as the password for expanse and ETC pools. Seems to work for Aurora Pool as well

It seems there is still something wrong, because nicehash reports the connection keeps dropping due to difficulty too low. Basically, I can mine for a few seconds and then it disconnects due to diff to low, then reconnects and mines for a few seconds, etc.  Huh
