Hello. I use Atomic Wallet for a couple of days. I put 1000 AWC on staking and yesterday when i checked my wallet i saw that everything was gone! Someone accessed my wallet and withdraw all my funds. I used this wallet also to trade on Binance DEX. It is possible that Binance DEX got hacked? Or how can someone else acces my wallet? Someone from the support team write to me that Atomic Wallet it's impossible to hack. But i still got all my funds lost.
Any idea if i can get my funds back?
I believe your private key has been leaked to the outside, and someone has accessed it and took all your money. You should change to a new address and continue trading, if you continue to use the old address then I believe your assets will be stolen again.
It looks like he didn't aware if his device has already infected by the virus or malware created by the scammers to steal his data. The exchange site like binance will never do that caused by binance generated multi billion dollars as profit everyyear.

If my device was infected with a virus why the other wallet i used are still intact? It's imposible for the 12 seed phrase to bee leaked online since i wrote on a papper, away from online world.

It seems like that your seed or privkey is exposed and you got hacked is more likely than it was on Binance DEX or Atomic Wallet fault. No one can access your wallet unless they got your seed or privkey somehow.
Thats the only reason. OP does not share any wallet address that we can check so I cant know for sure or maybe just a glitch on the app thats why its gone. Or related to internal error on Binance wallet.
If this was the cae then lot of people would have been lost their money and it will become a hot news in crypto space but it likely only OP got this issue so maybe atomic wallet is the problem not the exchange he used to buy coins.

I change the password from my phone app. But when i try to access the wallet from desktop app with the new password doesn't work.
Now i can access the wallet through desktop app with the old password and from the phone app with de new password. WTF?!
Is something wrong with this wallet. It's smell like a scam, be carefull.
Maybe because it has a different IP and system. Of course it will not be changed automatically on your other devices. Its possible to have a different password on different device/laptop even though your account is only the same.

The weird thing is that the support team from Atomic Wallet told me that is normal to have 2 different passwords for the same account. That's a bit strange for me. What do you guys thing about that?

My lose was about 600 USD.
Its weird though, because one account has one password if it is possible to have two password then we don't need password at all.Possibly they are giving password protection to apps not for the wallets.

Did you tried to trace the transaction of you $600 lost funds?

Sorry to hear about your loss. Unfortunately, this has happened but you should learn from it. Never use the same wallet address holding your assets to trade on any dex. This way, you could save yourself the troubles of exposing your keys and having them compromise unnecessarily. Always create new wallets or have dedicated wallets for trades on any dex. The best way you can really be sure if your keys were compromised or if indeed it was a hack is to reach out to the team on their official channels.

Thank you all for your responses!
I totally understand that all the transactions are irreversible on the blockchain, and obviously the hacker will never return the funds.
I'm quite sure i downloaded the official apps, both the deskopt one and the android one. And i only use this wallet on Binance DEX.
The 12 seed phrase i wrote it on a papper, away from online vulnerabilities. So it's impossible for someone to find it out.
I know what 2FA is. I used it everywhere it is available (Binance, Crypto.com, Bittrex). Unfortunately Atomic Wallet doesn't have 2FA.

The weird thing is that the support team from Atomic Wallet told me that is normal to have 2 different passwords for the same account. That's a bit strange for me. What do you guys thing about that?

My lose was about 600 USD.

No, it is you that got hacked. Remember what websites you have logged in with that wallet so that you can trace which is the one that gained access to your Binance DEX wallet. How much was the amount that was stolen to you? transactions are irreversible so the hacker will never send it back.
You are potentially a victim of phishing which you have entered your private key and the hacker quickly accessed your funds.

Firstly, it's almost impossible to get your funds back, because I know hackers don't return what they stole.

Secondly, it's impossible for binance DEX to get hacked and only your wallet was affected. If binance DEX gets hacked over a million people would be complaining and news like that spread faster than anything.

It's most likely that the hacker got access to your private keys, probably through the apps or extensions you downloaded or maybe someone close to you got access to the information without your notice.

If it's not from the leakage of private key, you could have connected to a fake dex or some other dapp might have accessed your wallet by asking you for permission while you were making trades on Binance dex and you allowed it access without noticing what it's asking for. Security has been a con of dex and dapps at current time.

It seems this ks the reason why you lost your funds, Where did you downloaded the app for your phone? If you did somewhere other than official website thst the app you downloaded got malware which sends your old password to the hacker so he accessed your funds and stole it.
This is the possible reason, you should always download your app to official website and check the URL if its really the site, some site can be highjack and you will be redirected to another site, hoping you don`t keep many token on that wallet.
Even in google playstore we found fake atomic wallets which later revealed by the atomic wallet team itself on their official social media pages. So OP even if you downloaded wallet app from google playstore make sure that the wallet link matches from the official wallet and also check the reviews.

Some how you've given out your login details, might through phishing (Http://) or your email account have been hacked, for a centralized wallet the only security left is 2FA, I bet you don't use that, please try to understand the difference between a centralized and decentralized wallets, the difference is huge, DYOR and Sorry for your loss

I was using both the deskop and the app for android on my phone.
I write the 12 word seed on a papper, away from online vulnerabilities. The thing is that your only protection as Atomic Wallet user is your password. If someone can crack your password that's it. Your funds are lost. So it's not that safe how they say on their website.
Be very carefull using this wallet.

Binance DEX / Atomic wallet is almost impossible to hack, unless someone can access your SEED / Privkey wallet. I think so far I do not have any problems in the crypto world, specifically some of the crypto assets that I have, I store it safely like SEED or PrivKey, and I always protect my computer from virus attacks.

Try to follow my advice
  • Do not install unneeded or pirated applications on PC or smartphone
  • Always check your PC for viruses or malware, even if it is a suspicious little thing.
  • Do not install extensions in your web browser.

Blockchain is almost or completely unable to hack, unless someone can access the private key.

Thank you very much for this. I ones lost a substantial amount of ethereum while using my MetaMask wallet on Google chrome browser. I I remember installing some extensions, I believe the hacker must have taken advantage of my wallet through those extensions installed. I've decided never to use any Web wallet to store my funds.

Are you using the desktop wallet version or mobile? Atomic wallet is very secured, you'd better take a minute to think about your environment, someone must have steal your recovery seed somehow, a friend of mine did same thing to me months ago, had to forgive him in the end, never got my Bitcoin back though
