I guess that you didn't pay attention to the potential activity part.

In order to make 1 activity you need 1 "day resource" and 1 "post resource".
Since you have old account, you have plenty of "day resources", those are not lost, those are potential activity.
Now, since you are posting, you are using up those old "day resources" and the new "post resources" and "generating" activity.
If you keep posting (don't spam, please), at some point the potential activity, the old "day resources" will deplete and the activity will not rise anymore.
Then the "post resources" will add up. And at some point, after 14 days, your activity will just jump a little more.

Clearer now?

"You only need to make at least one post in each activity period to be able to collect the activity at a later date. For instance, you could make one post in three different periods and you would then have 3 posts and 3 activity, but a potential activity of 42. Once you made the 42 posts you would then have 42 activity but no more."

Which basically means, in your situation, that your potential activity is high enough so that your posts give you activity points. Also "if your post count eclipses your activity by 14 or more then you will only need to make one post in the new period to get the full 14 activity. For instance, your post count is 200 but your activity is only 28. To get another 14 activity you will only need to make one post in the new period and you will then have a total of 42 activity."

As you were inactive and started posting lately, your post count is bumping up your activity to be equal with your post count.

Think of it as making up the lost time in between your registration and today.

Hello,

I might have encountered a bug regarding the activity counter, as it follows:
- first of all, I'd like to mention that I read carefully this topic: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/faq-everything-you-need-to-know-about-forum-activity-account-ranks-and-merit-2766177. I understood that you can reach 1 activity point per day and maximum 14 during a 14 days activity period. I also understood the fact that it is technically possible to obtain more than 14 activity in two weeks, if you sign up between periods.
- I have an account since 2017, but since I created it and until April 2019 I had only 4 posts (and 4 activity points)
- recently (since October 18th), I posted everyday, even more posts per day, summing 22 posts (this one is the 27th). I noticed that I was given activity points for each post I made, even more than 1 activity point per day.

Practically, I obtained 22 activity points for 22 posts between October 18th and 25th.

According to theymos' statement (from this thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/activity-new-membergroup-limits-237597), "the maximum number of activity points you can get is 1 per day, but your activity score only updates every two weeks." However, I observed that I received so far an activity point for each post, although I posted more than once in a day. Besides, my activity updated within minutes, not at the end of the activity period. Are these two aspects bugs? Or is this the normal behavior and I didn't fully understand it?

I'm sorry if this is a repost; I searched before posting this thread to make sure if it was posted before, but I didn't find it, thus I decided to signal these issues.
In case they are not bugs, can someone explain, please, the actual behavior? Meaning why I received more than 1 activity points in a day and why the activity was updated in real time, instead of being updated at the end of the activity period?

I hope these questions will help also other forum members. Also, if this post does belong to another section, I kindly ask the moderator to move it where it belongs.
Thx!
