I wonder why theymos did not upadate or lock the thread and create a new thread which is updated.
Theymos actually updated this thread after the merit system was included;
The new membergroup limits work like this: (Edit: Obsolete, do not use)
A new thread was also created with current information, which I linked in my initial reply.

I just have this thoughts, what if they will get back in the forum. Coild it be possible that they were already left behind with the new trends in cryptocurrency?
It's possible, although members can browse the forum without logging in and there are other sites through which one can stay updated on cryptocurrency discussions.

The information here is already obsolete since the launch of the merit system, so making posts to rank up no longer works. You already have Jr. Member activity, but since you lack merits you are still at newbie rank. Check out this thread - Merit & new rank requirements
I wonder why theymos did not upadate or lock the thread and create a new thread which is updated. I think he can easily manage to make a posts but whatever his intentions I know that he knows the best for the forum. These info may be obsolete bur still we can get information like how the rank system has been created before. I see too there are old members in here that are no longer active that can seen in the first pages of replies.

Thanks for the analysis because these activity really get many people confusing but it's quite understood via the regulations of activities now based on the explanation, but while the activities of a Hero member and legendary member is highly difference, the margin of both activities between H and L is too expensive, but in certain signature campaign's their payment is equivalent no difference, why?

I have 28 activity, so how can I upgrade to Jr. member? Because I want to post picture.

You can buy a Copper Membership. Or you can make a single really good post that receives merit (you will actually need 30 activity if you receive a single merit).

I was under the impression that this thread was created specifically for people looking to receive merit, but all I seem to see are posts from (most) people complaining about it.

If only they had used that effort and energy to create a valuable post, they would have received the very merit which they're complaining about NOT receiving in the first place.

Frankly, I am not a huge fan of the merit system, as I have seen too much abuse already. Not to mention all of the other problems (like alt accounts) a system like this will bring as a direct result.

At the same time, I don't necessarily have a better idea, but surely some of the bright minds in this community can put their heads together and come up with something better, and most importantly, more effective!

Why i'm still newbie?

if you read the posts above, you should be able to answer yourself.
You need Merit to increase your rank.

To gain merit you need (in general) more than just simple on liner posts.
Write some content and spread your knowledge.

I understand why such rules are implemented, but to be fair it's contributes a lot of spam. What would stop me from creating spam bots that post nonsense?

Thanks for this post, I sincerely had no idea concerning this over the few days I have been here and it's indeed enlightening to guide those who care to peoceed and make the most off this knowledge.

Individuals ought to be informed that merits are only given for productive(comments that assist members of the group as concern to the thread in question) post

Hmmm, strange!!
With 186 activities, you don't know about the new merit requirement. You do have activities within last days also.

The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Rough summary of what this means: If you post once per day on average, then you will eventually get the maximum number of activity points that you can get. Posting more than once per day on average is useless for increasing activity. The maximum number of activity points you can get is 1 per day, but your activity score only updates every two weeks. Therefore, it will take about 100 days to get 100 activity if you post once per day on average.

Activity is updated every hour.

The new membergroup limits work like this: (Edit: Obsolete, do not use)
GroupRequirement
Brand New0 posts
Newbie(none)
Jr. Memberactivity: 30
Memberactivity: 60
Full Memberactivity: 120
Sr. Memberactivity: 240
Hero Memberactivity: 480
Legendaryoccurs randomly between 775 and 1030 activity

I'm not 100% sure that the membergroups work correctly. Tell me if you see any bugs.

<...> My Activity is 70 but rank not updated why ?

Before askin' the same question, try to browse all the pages if there's an update about the current merit and rank requirements. All of the important details are indicated here in Meta so take your time to explore and search because we know the system will never fail, if it's very confusin' that's the time you should ask.

An additional info about above statement, the reason why there's an additional 1 merit requirement to be eligible in Jr. Member is to avoid spammin' and shitposting in threads. It really affects all of the beginners to reach early the sky but I know it'll help you a lot to improve your wings. Another thing, Most of your posts are related to bounties and it's really impossible for you to gain 1 merit if you're doin' the same activity each day, I think you should also change your mindset towards here.

<...> My Activity is 70 but rank not updated why ?
The reference threads you should be looking at are Merit & new rank requirements and Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements, being the latter a small change with a large impact that affects you directly, making the need of having 1 merit a co-requisite to 30 activity to reach the Jr. Member rank.

There's a similar question just a few posts above yours Cry Try to read and search for the answer before asking a question.

That's an old quote. The rank system has a new rule now (merit) https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/activity-new-membergroup-limits-237597. This thread should be locked to avoid confusion.
