Nobody seems to be taking advantage of that video creation idea. I even put together a site to list Bitcoin music, and you can see some samples in the link below.

I need to replace the flower pictures, so I might have a cartoon contest to add some humour to the index page.

Yeah heard of this songs in youtube and I was kind of getting hit by the lyrics. I bought high and sell low. This because I am still new in this cryptocurrency but it does not mean that I can not go back and be smart again. My strateg now is to risk and that is buying when it has a low market price.

Anyway, most of users are average posters. There is no reason to go beyond witty post just to get merit. Let us just wait and see for tghe forum has undergone a lot of changes. Who knows one day that ranking up will be available by purchasing or paying a fee. LOL. I will be more than happy tp rank up.

Well that's is in a way the truth most bitcoin talk users that are on a desperate merit hunt then to be most active on the meta board and are always on the very first few reply on a post or are actively making there own post.
But merit also can be gotten from other sections of the forum if you are a good poster you need not worry about which section to make your post just make a good post and you would be okay

So i am a full member for a long time and ask this guy, my long time buddy, how can i have merits in a legal and a good way. It seems like im getting stucked on this rank and needs to improve my post more but anyways, he told me how to gain merits much possibly. He said i post or comment some witty ideas on Meta section because people who gave merits are here and i will most probably get one if i post here. So far, i observe that newbies and full members doesnt get one. Only hero and legendary. So Lets see.

Update:
Sorry for this troll post. Ill just read more and improve my post starting now. Need to read more interesting facts and shared knowledge. Thanks Masters ! Smiley

I completely disagree with your unnamed buddy, while it’s true that posts in meta do get merits but they get those merits based on their value not because they’re posted there. I feel if your soul aim is for merits then simply post your post application in the merits give away thread, or try that video contest by Jetcash. My sincerest advice would be for you to focus on your post quality, and if they deserve a merit you’ll get one.

You guys can't really deny the fact that there are helping hands out here already who are willing to hand out their merits to someone who dares to show them the work done, efforts taken in order to get them, it's just that this has now become a trend to cry and shout out loud (and even beg) for merits without giving least efforts of searching what they are being given for. Wink

Exactly. I've made several threads in order to help people get merits in my local thread, kinda like a merit challenge thread where they need to complete some task (of course it is related to posting/making a thread and crypto in general). Sadly only a few members participated, yet most people still think merits is only given to friends, etc. It's quite annoying tbh, when we try to help them but they still think begging/whining can give them what they want.

1. The mentality your friend gave you had been the exact way I used to think before I came to know from many users that it's not Meta alone where you can get merits, but the whole forum is your workspace. So, think differently, outsmart your emotions and wrap up your words the way we want to see them, be it through helping someone find an answer or through your skills. Thinking too much about merits will not get you anywhere, take an example of DdmrDdmr, he's been a legendary in terms of earning merits.

2. I'm quoting my post from a thread by Juggy777 (please visit it once and give it a shot as well):

--snip--

As well, I'm now adding a few of my own threads' links here to give a few extra tips on earning merits, hope that'll help:
- Worried about Merits? I'm here to help.
- Do's and Don'ts to get merits - Read carefully!
- Interesting debate between an Avg Joe and Legend over how was life before Merits
- A query regarding Merits specifically.
- Fear about merits.

And below are the threads discussing over spam and ban to give an idea to newbies what they shouldn't do:
- What to do about spam in Forum Sections?
- Important discussion over BAN. Newbies must read.

Hope all these links will be helpful for newbies and mid-level members to learn more about what they should take care of when making posts and about earning merits.

3. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/giving-x-newbiejr-members-a-chance-to-rank-up-5085605 - One more thread helping users get merits, but remember, you need to have better posts before the date when that thread was created. Have them? Go ahead and try.
One extra bonus: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/i-have-10-merit-to-give-for-jrmembers-and-newbies-finished-5095913

In fact, posting in technical sections gives higher opportunities to gain merits. If your post is not deleted.
If you do not have enough experience, it's better to spend some time in local boards and learn more. instead of exposing your account to a spam ban. "It is difficult to get 100 merits to return to fullmember rank."

[Nope]No hype delivers more than hope
I get one more merit  than you, maybe I have the right to give advice to you. Grin

You should make posts scattered. Even when your campaign rules limit the space of your posts, that is not a reason to make good quality posts. So, ignore a little of the campaign rules. maybe that doesn't matter.

Believe me. Lately I've gotten a few merits in parts outside of my campaign rules. And I'm grateful my manager is wise enough and still calculates my weekly stake.

And I remember one thing,

Well if you feel you have been posting quality posts for a very long time and have been missed by post meriters then I recommend you read this topic

Note: just posting on meta doesn't give you merit you need to be technical, if you aren't a merit or DT specialist or good at discovering why accounts were banned then find somewhere else to post because the board is a very competitive one. If you aren't smart enough you won't receive merits there

Don't post because you wan't merits! Post because you wan't to share something that you think the community or the people who will read you post will benefit from reading your post. If you get merits, then good, if you don't then still good. Be thankful you are still able to post here unlike others who are already banned for various reasons.

No God or Kings, only BITCOIN.
Improve post quality, make some good arguments, and be helpful somehow. I guess that will help finding some merits. You can do what I just have said but I guess it's better if you don't mind getting any merits at all every time you post some replies or topics.

Meta section is not the only board that merit is largely disseminated, maybe you can post on other boards wherein you informed well, especially on your local board. Best of luck!

This is weird, feels pretty refreshing to see a merit begging discussion in all this DT madness.

your buddy lied to you. this is not how it works, it's not about where, it's about what.

Summed it pretty well!

goaldigger, I opened your post history and the first thing I saw is that you love to make 3 lines posts, probably 99% of them are like that as I will fells asleep faster than counting sheep if I go through all your post history.
You're not adding something to the discussion, you're just creating a post with the required length that adds nothing, the few I read were more boring than the weather forecast. Get rid of this habit of yours and don't make posts that look like a resume of the last page of the topic.

Noted sir. Thank you for the advice. I will continue to improve my posts until i get merited for it.

your buddy lied to you. this is not how it works, it's not about where, it's about what. people still get merit on off-topics for being funny.

if you are not funny / intelligent / informative then regardless of where you post, you are very unlikely to get merit, you will only get more replies here than on the technical decision that's for sure.

Meh.
Earning merits 101:

Find an issue - work on a solution, share solution = Profit.

Or, you could just write a guide, about pretty much anything. I'm almost certain that if I were to see a thread where some guy has taken the time to write a well structured guide on how to boil water I'd throw merits on it like it's singles at a stripclub.

Then again I migt be biased, I usually merit posts when I see something funny, cool or whenever someone tells me how great I am.

Best of luck!

Your post quality is quite bad from what I see, which is likely why you didn't get any merits. Posting in Meta isn't going to change that, but making an effort to make quality posts will.

I see. Thank you sir. Do you have any recommended books which i can read to improve my knowldege on crypto systems? I really want to be educated more. Internet stuffs confused me. I guess books really fits me well.

I looked for something to merit but everything seems to be on spam megathread type threads where your post doesn't contribute anything.

You sound pretty entitled about it.. You know that's not really how it works, right?

So Lets see.
See what exactly? If you're going to get merit for this post?

Yes i know thats not how it really works. Hero and legendary members are so experienced and knowledgable and i envy you all. Regards with the 2nd question: I hope so. It was Just like in the movie syrup where they sell products psychologically by branding and not by improving the taste. If i would have to construct post which is witty enough, maybe?. Im not saying i do not need to improve my post  but i also wanted to say what people thought about this section and thats all.
