I don't use my desktop all my apps are in quick launch..! I don't use many just Mozilla , Skype and few others i don't need desktop I just look at this wallpaper if i accidentally shut down[Turn Off] my PC otherwise it is always on "HIBERNATE" oops sorry CAPS again:p

I love linux & windows7. If when I get my laptop, it will have linux on it as I won't be able to game so that defeats having windows on a laptop. $400 dollar laptop will be as a backup PC for main PC offline emergencies/troubleshooting/overclocking.
