Posts is just your total replies and also creating new topics, and posting new polls.

For activity, you can read this sir: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/activity-new-membergroup-limits-237597

Hope that helps.

Activity points are updated every 14 days. If you post at least once in a day, you get 1 activity point for that. If you post once for 14 days you get 14 activity points at the end of that period.

Example:
  • Today your activity count: 70
  • You posted at least 1 post for 14 days
  • 14 days later your activity points: 84

So key to promotion is posting at least one everyday.

Posts vs Activity

What is the difference between posts and activity in the user profile?

I understand the posts is the number of post, but what about the activity?
everytime you posts here you can get one activity by that ,try to posts here you will see the activity will stop to count in every 14 posts in 2 weeks is 14 activity only so try it and do it constructive posts but i think read first here in bitcointalk forum to avoid this kind of posts like yours because its already in topic here

How many threads about this have come up? Refer to those. Search before you create threads: it's that simple.

Posts = # of replies
Activity = min(time, posts) where time is the number of 14-day activity periods that you have successfully had at least one post in.

The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Rough summary of what this means: If you post once per day on average, then you will eventually get the maximum number of activity points that you can get. Posting more than once per day on average is useless for increasing activity. The maximum number of activity points you can get is 1 per day, but your activity score only updates every two weeks. Therefore, it will take about 100 days to get 100 activity if you post once per day on average.

Activity is updated every hour.
