The two firmwares are incompatible because the auto-tune firmware is built for a xilink SoC.

Electrical engineer. Mining since 2014.
Are the new batches of S9's so inferior to the current ones, that they warrant buying older S9's at full price? o.o;

Some people prefer Version 1 firmware without the auto tune. I think the prices mostly reflect demand for s9's in general

I see, i understand. Partially... people can't reflash firmware with the built-in open-wrt feature?
No, there is no way to install a non-autotune firmware in a autotune model S9.

apparently, people like waiting at a rate of about $300/mo loss in revenue, then pay $70 extra due to bitmain's unique pricing.
Oh, well.

Since you're not really selling it, this has become a dick tease..

It says exactly what I was doing in the first post.  I was after an idea on price from people, nothing more. If people wanted to read more into it then that's not my fault nor my intention.

Error rate is normal for higher temp.
I'm running mine with ambient between 5 to 15 C. ( in my shed to avoid noise )
My home look like a igloo this time of year.

As the title says really.

I'm contemplating getting out of mining with larger Asics so I'm just putting some feelers out there and asking people how much they think it's worth.

Since I've had it I've run it at 5.8th on all three boards (each board is doing 1.9th) with an error rate of 0.0007%.

So guys, how much do you think it's worth?

Why are you running it at less than 1/2 speed and still get error rates?

Whats wrong with it?

There's nothing wrong with it. Every miner I've owned has had errors. I don't know any miner that doesn't have errors at this speed or above.

I'll take it if you're willing to ship it to Canada and accept escrow with OgNasty.

If it runs at full 11.x+ TH I'd pay $1K for it.

Thanks for the offer but that's a lot lower than an offer I've already received. Plus I'm just testing the waters and seeing what the offers are like at the moment.

Electrical engineer. Mining since 2014.
He is running it strongly underclocked for home mining.
Since it is not the newest shit auto-tune model, it can be easily set back to the nominal frequency and therefore for the nominal hash rate.

Potentially interested. What is the full speed rating for the unit?

Edited the title to include the requested information Wink
