Meditation can provide relief for a number of ailments but you have to keep in mind that it cannot/does not actually resolve any of the underlying issues. It's like taking pain medication will make the pain go away but it does not resolve the actual cause of the pain. If you're only doing it for fun then of course it's fine.

A great video that helped me get an idea about meditation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0peVQTdI3Yg

I'm watching it just now, and I just had to speed it up a little. Cheesy Koi Fresco got me very interested in meditation and spiritualism at all. You can find his youtube channel as Kois' corner.

Great, I'm just watching his channel. Koi is really cool  Smiley

He talks about a lot of spiritual stuff. I've tried astral projection a few times but I've failed, always got myself in the sleep paralysis, not a fun experience. But there's something about his voice and the way he talks that gets you. Cheesy

Talk about astral project, I remember about Lucid Dream. Is Lucid Dream kind of meditation? It play with our mind too. But our breath not the focus in Lucid Dream. When we enter Lucid Dream, we can create our world and can make our emotion better. Isn't it?

Interesting point of view. I think, Lucid Dream has something in common with meditation: separate mind from body.

i dont believe such things... i didnt even think i could join those yoga or meditation stuff. i completely think that if you find cure for your mental illnesses , you should recieve help from medical doctors not gurus or something.

You know nothing jon snow.  All drugs do is tell you body to do something you are in theory capable of doing anyway.  For light mental illness use yoga and meditation for sure.

Yoga or meditation actually about spiritual thing. In Asia culture, there's dominated by spiritual life, they believe about spiritual thing. But, in West culture, they more believe to science. I can understand your opinion, it based on people which live in our environment.
thats right if you said the meditation is one of any ways to cure the mental illness. The meditation work to make your emotion more settle and it can give effects to our mental.

Are you practising meditation?

No.

I do not practice meditation, but I would, if my neighbor allow. Angry already tried for a week, but was useless, whenever I close my eyes and try to forget all my problems, here's what I hear: TON... TON... TON... It is my neighbor. Angry  hammering the wall. Angry

he hammers on the wall all the time, Angry I do not know what the hell he is building, but already has long known that this annoying me. Angry

the guy is very annoying and makes me very stressed, when he leaves home and I thought I would have a moment of silence and peace? here comes a group of young guy with music at maximum volume, Angry it makes me very stressed. I'm so stressed out that I think about moving house and go live in a place far from the city, where I can relax and listen to the sound of birds.

Are you practising meditation? What are your experiences? Why did you try to meditate the first time?

Yes, I was. Meditation can control your breath. The good breath circulation, make your body good too. Sometimes, when I meditated, I felt sweat. I don't know why. I did my first meditate because I want know how to balance the mind and the body. And when I meditated, I become more calm. Cheesy

I have tried it before but I am weak as I will always open my eyes everytime I think of my surroundings.  I was afraid that someone in my family would see me doing it and they will make fun of me.  I tried it before because I wanted to have a clear mind and have peace.  To rest my spirit because of some issues in my life.  It is really good I think because it have some benefits.  It is best done on a very quiet environment or if you are in a group like yoga class.

It seems funny to me Smiley

I was thinking the same untill I've tried it actually and kept doing it for a few days everyday.

I'm so stressed out right now. I am going to turn off the computer and try really hard to meditate to see what it does.

Check out a few guides/vids on how to do it proprely, good luck, it helped me a lot.

I've meditated before, and it has been quite helpful. But as I've gotten older, it doesn't matter what, I just can't do it anymore. Too much other worried going on in life.

Meditation is seen by a number of researchers as potentially one of the most effective forms of stress reduction. While stress reduction techniques have been cultivated and studied in the West for approximately 70 years, the data indicates that they are not consistently effective.

Meditation could be a secret to your life, if you're able to clear your mind. But it's just too boring on so much easier to submit to stress.
