fwiw I remember mining copperbars, which is scrypt-jane, with cgminer that was modified for some other scrypt-jane coin and it worked. Don't know if the coins had the same parameters or not. I've watched as you have matured as a dev, and I will say that each of your projects have been better than the previous. What made you decide to launch another coin?

does a normal cgminer work with scrypt jane?
no scrypt jane offers optimal performance on cpu's and there for will need either a cpu miner or, with special mining software, you can mine it with a gpu. the software has to be built to match the internal specifications of the coin so cpu releases tend to see awhile before pools start popping up. I will try to hunt down spoetnik and see if he wants to release a gpu miner for it.

None of the above. as i mentioned in the OP, this coin will anchor the OSC market at openex. the release will coincide with the opening of the market for the coin. as i also mentioned, the coin will have no premine. that means i will release it here with zero blocks on the network. i guess i could take a picture of the coin with 0 blocks and post it right as i release the thread for proof if you still doubt it. instamining, however is a different subject entirely. there certainly be some unavoidable flashmining if alot of miners show up on day 1, but retargets are every 3 blocks to keep diff pretty close with where it should be at any given time. hopefully this sheds a little light on that for you
Diff re-target after 3 blocks, oh well, no instamine here. Gone are the days of 10K blocks instamined.

Not so fast. it should still take a while for enough competition to get on the network to slow the chain down to the target times. this is sometimes unavoidable i guess.
