Okay since we don't want a massive bitch fest with the other guys, and even though we did come up with the name first without annoucing it, we've decided on changing the name to CannabisCoin. I am not aware of another live coin of this name.
We're currently running testnet and will have a launch date shortly, it will be at the beginning of March.

Identical copy? Apart from the name, it will not be the same, just like yours to PotCoin or this to DopeCoin.
We started development on this months ago, without an announcement. (I can show you when I created the twitter account /cannacoin if you wish) I guess this is just a case of both using the same name. We've also created the code, compiled the servers/clients and are currently in beta testing. We're only a couple weeks from launch with thousands of local MMJ patients ready to jump on board. It wouldn't make sense to start an almost identical name of what we're trying to do when we're already gearing up for such a successful launch. What are your thoughts on Scrypt-N people?
If your going to choose something other than scrypt please post some sort of detailed tutorial on how to mine preferably with pictures for the newbies still mining with GUI-scrypt miner. Alternatively link to one already created

I'm entirely new to NXT and its siblings, but I'd be interested to see if someone could actually create a stable community model based around the platform that encourages mutual cooperation rather than a singular motive for greed.
As in the way people mine or? I do believe there's some innovation to be had in pools, rather than the protocol itself.
We're going for CAN as the abbv - I have not personally seen this but please let me know otherwise !
