Forum looks great. Sounds like you have thought this out well. Certainly does not seem like a pump and dump coin, a rare quality these days lol. I will be mining this one when it is ready.

Thanks cbassthefish!

Here's the main links for BDC:

I registered on reddit some time ago, but I cannot create my own subreddit (nothing about that in their faq, looks like they disabled that feature), can somebody help with BDC subreddit?

Latest news about coin development:
- innovate rewards system implemented, working great
- we decided to implement Dark Gravity Wave, checked the code, it's much better than KGW. Solomining period (below 1000 blocks) will also use DGW, but with reduced block times (to lower the difficulty to make solomining more successful during solomining period - I'll update the specs on the first post soon)
- coded and testing automatic checkpointing system
- scrypt-jane mining tested with sgminer and cudaminer, everything works perfect
- testing win/linux wallets, will try to have a mac wallet as well on launch
- we'll try to setup and test official pool to guaranty pool mining after block 1000

BDC forum is up and running (need to update subforums descriptions).
http://forum.blackdragoncoin.com/

Please sign up, there will definitely some advantages for dbc forum users, more information later. I plan to stay away from exchanges and list on poloniex after 1 week, I will offer FREE escrow service for trades on BDC forum.
Twitter/facebook pages registered long time ago too, but I need to fill them with content, it's on my todo list.

BDC team future plans (also to be updated!):

Weekly/monthly goals:
- beautiful high res desktop wallpaper - every week!
- art contest with money prize - every 1 or 2 months!

First week after release:
- find good and reputable pools to spread the hashrate (at least 3-4 with 30% total hashrate limitation), modify p2p pool code and set p2p pools (bounties will be available on launch)
- actively build a community, focus on BDC forum
- paper wallet
- block explorer
- site with fantasy art elements (might take more time because there is a lot of work for artists/designers)
- custom icons and design for the wallet
- set various bounties: translations, pools etc.
- list on poloniex after 1st week + add dbc/btc ratio straight to the wallet

Bigger goals:
- code a custom wallet (like multibit)
- open the BDC cd-key\code online shop & crowdfunding site

for when is plan the ninja lunch ? Hope it will be rather at dinner time...

Please don't do a too ninja launch, it makes people suspicious of dev instamining their own coins....
there are already enough dead scrypt-jane coin... and for some reason scrypt-jane coins tend to die young...

please don't lunch this coin with out a gpu miner posted. Not only will the ninja lunch help your closed group of people but not giving the public a gpu miner also will increase the amount of the coin you will receive.

seriously. provide everything or the coin will only be a pump and dump.

also please as transparency , give us some details on other coins you and your devs might have participated with?  How strong is your dev team. Do you have any more future goal?

Dev team works hard right now to make the launch the best launch you guys experienced in your miner's lifes. I stated in the 1st post (hope you read the whole post), that I will provide everything: pass protected wallets for mltiple OS, virustotal link, link to radeon/nvidia miner (with examples of settings), .conf file and even a detailed windows solomining guide with pictures. And after 10 minuites we'll release source code + passwords Smiley

The dev team is good! You can check the code after release and compare with other coins  Wink Also we'll release our first wallpaper and you will see how good is our artist.

I will release a detailed development plan after launch.

It might sound rude, but you need to educate yourself.
no offense, i'm not a specialist.

I'm just a miner. And by better, i meant better for our GPU, not better in term of security, function etc..

but lower temps might indicate that the miner program is not optimised and doesn't work at full power
it's a paralelism "problem", due to the algo (or to the addition of multiple hashing functions)

X11 is an example. There is some other good (better) algos to use. Groestl got my preference, but there is also blake, fugue, qubit, and not as good but still better : skein, keccak, ink, etc....

It might sound rude, but you need to educate yourself.

You name different algos but you have no clue what's behind them. X11 algo = quark algo + some additions.
Quark algo was really innovate but it was released long time ago: Quark algo =6 unique hashing functions (blake, groestl, blue midnight wish, jh, SHA-3, skein)
Also, there's no INK algo, INK coin used SHAvite-3.

There is no "better" algos. They are just different. I think miners like the algos that are cooler (less heat from gpu and electricity consumption), but lower temps might indicate that the miner program is not optimised and doesn't work at full power. MisO69 mentioned that there might be private x11 miners that provide unfair advantage to some users.

Black dragon coin will be a scrypt-jane, it will use: SHA-3 (keccak512) + chacha.

Scrypt-jane and scrypt-n are not and will be less popular with summer coming. Choose your algo wisely, with this in mind.

Personally I like scrypt-jane because it provides huge variance of settings (because of N factor timetable which can be changed easily, much better option than changing the hashfunction of the coin) and cooler mining (10-15 degrees cooler vs scrypt\scryptN mining on gpu core and even more on VRMs).

My mule don't like people laughing
Your choice of Scrypt-Jane is a good one. X11 is flawed https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=18166.msg152706#msg152706

I also hear that some people have optimized X11 miners while everyone else is using SGMiner.

Will Cudaminer work for this?

Yes, cudaminer should work fine for scrypt-jane. I've got nvidia gpu, I will test latest cudaminer before the release.

X11 is better than scrypt-jane, please think about it.
are X11 memory intensive somehow, or does it have other properties making it expensive to build ASICs for it?

I read the opinion that it is easier to make an asic for x11. Also x11 is cpu minable, with current situation on cpu coin scene (with extremely low profits) huge botnet can easily jump on the coin. Lower mining temps just indicate that the gpu doesn't work at full power.

I doubt that there will be an asic for scrypt-n or scrypt-jane in near future, because these hash algo have got an option to change N factor easily.

The time X11 asic come to reallity, memory will be so cheaper than now, you will see scrypt-n / or scypt-jane asic too.. It's not an algo matter, but a success matter. If a coin is very succefful and popular, Asic manufacturer will make a product for it. But we talk about millions or billions market cap.
Scrypt-N and scrypt-jane are also gpu resistant.. configuring a mining rig for scrypt-n or scrypt-jane is not always easy. It's not very popular. X11 is. You have also others algo you can use (Groestl for example)

Changing N factor to protect the coin is theorically working, but it make miners to have a lot of Ram too. With scrypt-N with 3 GPU (r9 280x) on EXE or VTC coin for example, you need 4Go of ram (to have full hash power). With 4 or more GPU, you'll need 8Go. If the N factor is higher, you will need 32Go on each rig ?

There is 2 way to be really asic resistant : the ability to change the algo with a fork if an asic is coming, and multi-algo (like Myriadcoin). Myriadcoin is not asic resistant, it use sha256d and scrypt, but also other algos. So, miners with asic can mine it with their own difficulty, and "little miners" like us can too, on actually asic resistant algo, with their own diff (lower).

So, i think the only thing that matter is not asic resistant or not, but coin being popular or not. If you want to succeed, you need your coin to be at least popular. Scrypt-jane and scrypt-n are not and will be less popular with summer coming. Choose your algo wisely, with this in mind.
