In comparison, I think the older one looks BTCetter

Do you think Qwerty keyboards will integrate soon?  Windows before Apple if that's the case

I highly doubt it will be integrated onto keyboards, bitcoins aint that big, yet.

The old one is fine for promotion and marketing Bitcoin.

The new one is fine for unicode, writing, and hopefully incorporating into our keyboards soon.
That's pretty easy. I already did it for German Keyboards
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.5856310

and somebody else did it, with US Keyboard
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/type-bitcoin-symbol-with-your-keyboard-windows-us-keyboards-60152

btw. reminds me about old Nazi Polls, where the Symbol you want People to "vote" is much bigger, than the Symbol you don't want People to choose:

haha , yeah we germans like good choices  Grin

....at least its a fair vote: in china there is only "yes"  Wink

Both are good, I think the new logo shows maturity (which is anyway what Bitcoin has become).
I guess people will choose based on their preference Wink

I guess that's how polls and choice generally works lol. Either way the poll has little to no impact. There are lots of stickers produced, logos already posted on websites, images printed in peoples' minds.

It would take some serious coordination to find and replace the Bitcoin logo.

I agree, that it will take serious coordination to find and replace the Bitcoin logo. It would be wise to sort out the subject of official logo/symbol  before we hit mainstream & mass adoption.
It will be tough to get consensus now, but doable if organized properly.

Old one is already a brand, so the new one need a lot of customer information to pass through, and since costumer information cost money, better stuck what masses already known.

Old one hands down.
I still don't know who tricked the BTC foundation to destroy the strong marketing identity of the old symbol. Its like if some dude convinces the US Government to change $ to  IsI because it fits better on the new Samsung Galaxy S7 phablets. Aha.

The orange logo is nice, and very familiar and while I think that it will be eventually replaced with a sleeker, perhaps more universal character, I don't think that the proposed logo design will be the one.

Having said that I do like the style of the proposed logo, just not for Bitcoin.

Logo or character? I like the old logo, but there's no character to go with it.

In my opinion Bitcoin isn't about changing to suit the masses, but the masses making changes to accept Bitcoin.
And thats what these so called "industry groups" should focus on, mass adoption.
Quote
Another person said in the comments, instead of changing to an existing Unicode symbol, make suggestions that Unicode adopt the BTC. I agree. And I'm not sure how I feel about "industry groups" trying to make changes, that just doesn't feel right to me.

Don't even get me started on pushing for XBT instead of BTC...  Roll Eyes

Who came up with the XBT anyway? Huh

The old one is fine for promotion and marketing Bitcoin.

The new one is fine for unicode, writing, and hopefully incorporating into our keyboards soon.

Why should bitcoin change. Unicode should add a new symbol.

No one is asking to change the logo, just the symbol because the current one with the vertical strike resembles the Thai Baht.

Fair enough. Lots of different countries use the $ symbol without problems.

I prefer the old one, with single or double vertical strike! Smiley
