When you look back at how Klopp developed Liverpool, they finished the first season as 8th with 60 points. Then they finished 4th with 76 points. Then they finished again 4th with 75 points. Then they finished 2nd with 97 points! And then finally in their fifth year they finished first with a breathtaking 99 points. It really was a process for them. But Klopp had great players he could develop over time. Arsenal could be lacking players who are on the level of Salah maybe, I am not sure.

Klopp was unlucky to be competing during Pep's and Manchester City's prime. That Liverpool team could have dominated the league more in the regular seasons. Arsenal have young and talented players. Arteta can contribute to their mental development. However, the transfer of a finishing striker could help them to get results faster and I think that would be a better strategy for them. Klopp took Liverpool to the top after a few years of adventure. If Arsenal want that to happen more quickly, they need to give Arteta some meaningful gifts like Osimhen or Mbappe.

Let's not call it unlucky because I think everything happens for a reason and when Klopp missed to win the Premier League title with those 97 points, he understood that in order to beat Manchester City he has to go absolutely above and beyond the limits. That's what he again did with his Liverpool team when they scored 99 points, which was the second best result ever in the Premier League as Manchester City made it 100 points one time.

But the fact of the matter is that Klopp took on the challenge and that they didn't lose track of their goals as a unit. They wanted the title and they were devastated when they couldn't win it with 97 points. No problem, we raise the bar and make it 99 points! I love the mentality Klopp has.

That true. Always be like this year in and year out around this time of the year...
That was not a good game by any means.
Arteta is a good coach but needs to keep aside his ideas for the basics once in a while
It is not enough to be close to the championship. Arsenal has to win it
He has trust issues with his bench and never changes his gameplay when it's not working.
What a disappointing way to end 2023.  2 consecutive losses...

Absolutely, reflecting on the past year, especially in sports, can be a mix of highs and lows. It's tough when a team doesn't perform as expected. Do you think Arteta's coaching style might evolve in the upcoming year, considering the challenges Arsenal faced in 2023? Also, what changes or improvements would you like to see in the team's strategy for the next season?

Arsenal's performance is really about highs and lows because they win many of the tough games and lose some of the games that nobody would expect them to lose. But this unpredictability in their performance is a tough problem to solve for Arteta. I think again and again it will be about experience and growing year after year.

When you look back at how Klopp developed Liverpool, they finished the first season as 8th with 60 points. Then they finished 4th with 76 points. Then they finished again 4th with 75 points. I really don't know how Arsenal fans are coping with it. At the start of the season, they gave high hopes and now at this moment, they are bottling it. They could not even keep the lead till the 2023 year. They lost to West Ham and then again lost to Fulham. After that Bukayo Saka goal, I thought no way Arsenal was going to lose but they lost.

If they want to win and be the champion of the Premier League, they cannot lose matches like these. Guess what they are now below Manchester City, and they have played 1 match less. The gap between them and Liverpool will be 5 points if Liverpool manages to win against Newcastle today, so I don't think they can come back after this. Arteta needs to show his magic and they cannot repeat it again. Guardiola came back and I don't think anyone can stop him. It is going to be Liverpool vs Manchester City right now for the Premier League championship.

Klopp has climbed the ladder one step at a time while at Liverpool since joining from Dortmund Oct 2015. From the records you mentioned, he has achieved a total of 313 wins in 508 matches.

Jurgen Klopp has won all the trophies starting from the Premier League Asia (2017), Champion League (2018/19), Premier League (2019/20), UEFA Super Cup (2019/20), FIFA Club World Cup (2019), FA Cup ( 2021/22), Carabao Cup (2021/22), and Community Shield (2022/23).
We recognize the process that Klopp has gone through as Liverpool's best manager. And this season again has the opportunity to give Liverpool its second Premier League trophy.

Van Persie is a legend at Arsenal. He is a dangerous player for opponents. But he decided to move to the next club to experience the PL and UCL trophies.
Fabregas followed Van Persie's steps by moving to Barca.
Now Odegard and Saka are great players in the Arsenal squad. Should not be confused with Salah.

Arsenal surprisingly lost to Fulham 1-2. They took the lead in the 5th minute through Bukayo Saka's goal. Then Fulham responded through Raul Jimenez's goal in the 29th minute and Fulham doubled their lead in the 59th minute through Bobby Reid's goal. This is very surprising because Arsenal has performed poorly in the last 5 matches with three defeats. Does this mean the opposing team has found Arsenal's weakness?
Arsenal surprisingly again their losing trend continues after previously also losing to West Ham at home, I don't know how Arteta's strategy was read by the opponent so easily they lost despite dominating the game throughout the match.

In terms of opportunities, what I saw was that Fulham were much better than Arsenal, they were a little troubled by Fulham's attacks in the second half, which in the end Arsenal could not equalize to 2-2 and this match had to end losing while Arsenal dropped further from the standings which initially continued to trail Liverpool.

So far Arsenal have always been so where they can perform well at the start of the season but after the second half start to decline and often make mistakes until they lose again.
This match was indeed very surprising because we saw that Arsenal was increasingly experiencing a decline and experienced consecutive defeats recently, Arsenal's mentality currently seems to be a little disturbed and the strategy used by Mikel Arteta has begun to be read by the opposing team so that Arsenal continues to lose. West Ham, Fulham are clubs that are not favorites to win against Arsenal but in fact they can beat Arsenal who are currently competing at the top of the standings and now Arsenal's ranking is dropping further from being in 2nd position to 4th position just below Manchester City.

In fact, Arsenal had a bigger chance in this match because they were able to control the ball more than Fulham, even in pass accuracy. However, in taking more shots, Fulham did more, putting even more pressure on the visitors, making it difficult for Arsenal to maintain their defense, so Arsenal conceded 2 goals.
Mikel Arteta has to change his strategy so that it is not easy for the opposing team to read.

This Arsenal makes people sick. Okay, Fulham is a good team at home, but you are the great Arsenal and your goal is the championship. You already lost to Westham United at home the other day. Let's say it was that accident and this time you go and lose to Fulham. Arsenal took the lead in the 5th minute of the match with B. Saka, but this lead lasted only 24 minutes and Fulham scored the equalizing goal in the 29th minute with the star of the match, R.Jimenez. In the second half, Fulham took the lead with Bobby Reid in the 59th minute of the match and won the match with a score of 2-1. With this win, Fulham increased its points to 24 and rose to 13th place in the points table. If Arsenal continues in this mood, they will finish this season without becoming champions. The Premier League is the toughest league in the world and the competition here is high.

It does, as you can see that if fulham has been learning a lot from the gameplay of arsenal. The main weakness of arsenal has been discovered and playing defensively against it will be increasing the chance to win against arsenal.
In fact, arsenal is not performing that good but fulham knew how to prevent the attackers of arsenal from scoring more goals in the last night. I meant you can see how martinelli did nothing in the game and trossard which was very confusing to break the defensive line of fulham.

The direct counter attack was often making defenders of arsenal lose their concentration. This is also forcing arsenal to play worst caused by it was alwas relying upon opponent to play openly. The different result whem arsenal was facing parking bus team like that.
This is a bad result for arsenal by losing three points and city is now having the same points as arsenal. Look at how fast manchester city is going up again.

I am only waiting for one thing to happen at Manchester United and I have expressed it quite many times which is when the hell is Ten Haag going to be expelled and fired from the team management. What is the management of Manchester United waiting for to come on woth a decision no matter that is the end of year something should be taken care of.Really disappointing seeing Manchester United degrading such far

I agree with you I want Manchester United management to sack Eric Tenhaag.
But actually achievement is a process, even arsenal with its coach mikel arteta in his first season only ranked 8th. can not bring to European competition even the conference league can not. but now arsenal is a team that is always in the strong candidates for league champions every season.

Exactly, I agree. I don't even have any idea about how Aston Villa managed to mess it up against Sheffield Utd a little while ago. They barely saved 1 point you know. Manchester City could have crushed Sheffield Utd also but they won by only 2-0. Haaland - De Bruyne duo were missing which must have affected the score quite negatively.  Sad

De Bruyne was seen on the bench though but Guardiola said that Haaland didn't start to train with the team yet.

When this duo both start to be on the pitch the other title challengers had better be ready for a tougher title fight.  Grin
These are results around boxing day as always. Aston Villa struggle against Sheffield United can be unpredictable, but, in time around, top teams face challenges against supposedly weaker opponents. Playing after short times rest makes things go not unexpected. But this is not uncommon in premier league.

The absence of Haaland and De Bruyne could have affected teh performance of the team that shows the importance of De Bruyne in shaping match outcomes. It's promising for City fans that despite the duo's absence, they managed to win the game, eventhough it's not as commanding as expected. Once the duo return to the pitch, it will upgrade Manchester City's performance that can pose a greater challenge to their title contenders. With the duo in top form, the title race could indeed become more intense. Guardiola's emphasis on Haaland needing time to integrate with the team suggests that once the duo is fully in sync, other title challengers will need to face a serious threat for the competition.

I am confident that Haaland will instantly improve the team, but I am more careful making predictions about De Bruyne and his impact on the game. Not because he is worse than before or he can't play as good anymore, but I think everyone in the club will focus on his health at first and give him only some play time before they dive back fully into it. The risk is there that he gets injured again as this is a recurring injury as far as I know. That's bad for his physical condition, but it also makes it harder mentally when the player doesn't know whether he can go at full risk or not.

Maybe the thing Manchester United have been in need of so far was a good management of the team completely. I mean maybe the new owner of the team could make the needed changes for this team to help its recovery phase. I'm not certain about if keeping ten Hag until this season ends is a good idea or not.

I mean I think about Liverpool's last season performance as well. They started the season quite badly and their general performance in the first half was quite bad. But we watched a much more effective Liverpool in the remaining part of the season. The same might happen to Manchester United too maybe. The best thing to do might be to give a little more time to ten Hag to see what happens.  Smiley
Since Erik ten Hag became the manager of Manchester United, there's no English Premier League manager that's received the signature of more expensive  footballers than the Dutchman but he's yet to deliver a major trophy for the team and that's why I think he doesn't have the needed tactical experience to bring the club back to winning ways anytime soon.

Now that Manchester United management has recently accepted and sold part of the club's share to British billionaire, I think it's best to drop Erik ten Hag and sign managers with better tactical experience

The performance from Arsenal has dropped significantly. That's why I said from the start that it is not going to be easy to trust Arsenal because they have a trend of falling off with their performance at crucial times. Right now they are already in the 4th position of the table if I am not wrong. And that is definitely something that Arsenal should be careful about. If we look at the last 5 matches of Arsenal, we will see only one win. And I definitely do not expect Arsenal to lose this match as this was supposed to be an easy one for them. Arsenal winning the English Premier League title is definitely becoming questionable.

I think Arteta need to reflect on last season when the title was quite close to their hands but in the end it was City who won it, isn't this season not much different? After several weeks at the top of the standings, Arsenal are slowly starting to show a weak mentality and even from a team like Fulham, I think Arteta couldn't see where Arsenal weaknesses were last season and instead wasted money just buying Failed players from other clubs like Harvetz Even though they still have Smith Rowe, Jorginho, Elneny and even Trossard who actually played quite well last season, I think if Arsenal could use that money to buy good strikers then we wouldn't see many good passes provided by Martineli, Saka and Odegaard wasted like now, one thing that I am quite worried about Arsenal is that their fans will be disappointed again by fasting for their 20th English league title this season Grin.

I put myself in the shoes of Arsenal fans and I was truly upset. It's like there's a damn spell on the Arsenal team. I've never seen a team lose this much in my life. I would understand if they had financial difficulties, but they don't have that either. Go to countries like Brazil and Argentina, follow the football players, get the money and bring it to your team.
When City is mentioned, Haaland, Kyle Walker, De Bruyne come to mind, but when Arsenal is mentioned, there is no senior football player that comes to mind. The eras of Henry, Bergkamp and Pires are long gone. I wish patience to Arsenal fans.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has completed the deal and he is the owner of Manchester United as of last Sunday. I have seen some news also like he isn't keen on sacking Erik ten Hag quickly. He looks eager to work with Erik ten Hag for longer but we will see. Honestly I wouldn't still expect Erik ten Hag to keep his job until the end of the season like this.

Because it is like they win one week but the other week is a big disappointment. This Nottingham defeat after beating Aston Villa at Old Trafford can be given as a great example. They are already 9 points behind top 4. If they can't improve I just expect Erik ten Hag to get sacked.  Sad

I was thinking that he should be sacked this season. Because think about it, if a new manager comes in right now, no one would blame him for losing and he can get the team tested in the remaining half of the season.  He can get the players that he wants in the January transfer market.

But let's say if a new manager joins at the end of the season, they will take a lot of time to get the team ready and I don't think they will be able to win anything in the next season as well. This season they can not expect to win anything, they are out of the Champions League and are far from the Top 4.  They keep dropping points and I believe sacking Ten Hag is the best solution.
