That is one way to look at things, but they were still up against Manchester City last season. They aren't playing bad, but obviously that is not enough to win the EPL trophy. You need a close to perfect season to win it and the one team that was mostly capable of playing a perfect season was Manchester City. It's hard to beat them. And now Manchester City has their own issues and see there are immediately several teams going for them and their top position. But the season is still long and a lot of things can happen.
A perfect season is just what every club is craving for and only few will achieve this target in matches. A very difficult duty to win Manchester City in EPL matches, they're the top club and they barely win any match. Manchester City have dominated over the past seasons and this one is certainly not an exception for these clubs to build strong form to boost their performance. Manchester City not in good shape at the moment, but they can be able to standout to their opponents and fight for their spot in the EPL. They're champ and they ought to behave like one.

That's why it is important to not go too far when we talk about perfect seasons. If we stick to the word and its literal meaning, we would expect a team to win 38 games in the Premier League and then concede zero goals, but that is not realistic as I am sure everybody here agrees. In my opinion a perfect season can still be a season where a team loses a game or maybe two, but then it is all about getting back on track and not get caught in a downtrend and lose the title like Arsenal did last season. It should be a dominant season, but thinking that a perfect season is only perfect if there are no draws and losses is too much.

I can't imagine that Ten Haag still has a great future at Manchester. Even after the defeat against Nottingham it became clear that the team has a lot of problems and that it is not developing at all. Ten Haag had some time in which the team's underperformance was not so noticeable because the focus was on the club's change of ownership. Now that this has been completed, for me it is only a matter of time before the new owners look for a new coach who can further develop the team. It's a shame to see this performance from a world club like ManU.
I don't want to underestimate Nottingham, but Manchester United should not lose to teams with much lower squad quality than themselves. This should be the last season with Eric Tan Hag unless there is a departure sooner. It's a real shame that Manchester United are mentioned like this. They are one of the most well-known clubs in the world. Nottingham Forest only got to the goal three times and they clearly scored two goals.

Truth be told I think the reason behind the poor performance of Manchester United today was because they underestimated Nottingham Forest because of their position in the league, United come back result in their previous game against Aston Villa should have been a big morale booster for them but I think it affected their performance since they couldn't have a good performance against a team like Forest. Erik Ten hag isn't a good man for the United team so I think he needs to leave the team if he can't win teams that have no history against United.

In the end Manchester City started to find some good form after a few boring games. They managed to get 3 important points in their efforts to improve their performance, and now Manchester City have equaled Arsenal in terms of points. I'm happy with what they got in the first half so Pep Guardiola is still worth considering as a coach who can maintain his chances of retaining the title.

It only took one mistake for Liverpool to see Manchester City lead the table, so it will be something interesting to look forward to in the second half of the season. I also saw Haaland and De Bruyne on the bench today, meaning both will be ready to return in the second half of the season after suffering injuries.

Actually Manchester City is in 2nd position because they played 19 matches while Aston Villa has played 20 matches meaning Manchester City has pending points, it seems that Manchester City is ready to fight in the competition, after Kevin De Bruyne was able to return to playing with Manchester City. We know how Haaland and De Bruyne are in the team, of course they are very dangerous for the opponent.

I really cannot believe United is losing against Nottingham after such a great comeback against Aston Villa. At this point , I cannot understand this club vision of how to manage a football club and as a fan it hurts me to see my club wondering in darkness for so many years already.

I also hope next year will bring a positive change into United club and maybe with a bit of luck they will catch an european spot (top 6 ).
I did not expect Manchester United to lose this match either, they were very good last week as they did a great comeback against Aston Villa that has been playing great this season. Betting on Man United is not profitable anymore because of their inconsistency, I am hoping they get consistency next year so that they can fight for Top four since Aston Villa is not too good away.
I am also expecting Manchester United to sign more players this January transfer window and Ten Hag to put more effort in putting the players together so as to help the team with good performance in the second phase of the season.
I have known from the start the match that Manchester United will lose the game in every way possible. I wasn't expecting that, for that reason. Their performance last week will allowed them to defeat Nottingham Forest. Manchester United's current poor performance means that they won't improve even if they sign new players. Before they can sign new players, the old prayers must get better in order for them to compete well in the second phase of the season. Right now, Manchester United will be quite embarrassed to start the new year with a loss.

The joy from the midweek win didn't last too long, yes we saw them have a sad ending with 2023. There were so many gameplay problems, honestly I always felt like they were like comedians on the field, there were opportunistic situations that were not taken advantage of. Obviously, in the last seconds, if Eriksen's break had been more precise, they could have retained 1 point, but anyway, the result of the match was negative accurately reflects MU's bad play. I also have some speculations that Ten Hag will soon leave the coaching position. Their current performance is unimaginable because the expectations for them from the beginning of the season were quite high.

MU is very sad, the red devil no longer has horns to scare his opponents. the longer their game gets worse. If Ten Hag immediately leaves MU, it will be a very bad farewell with the club's condition not being good. Is it possible that this is karma because MU ignored Ronaldo and made him uncomfortable so they chose to move. MU's destruction is in sight if this bad condition is not handled properly. Manchester United closed the year with a defeat and had to share 1 point with Nottingham Forest.

I think Arsenal will soon turn things around and win because their dominance is very strong in this match.
It's safe to say the game is already lost. Only a few minutes left and they're still down by 2 goals. They have a massive advantage in terms of possession, but this means nothing if they can't convert that into opportunities.
And it turns out our predictions were wrong. ha ha ha I was really surprised when I saw the final result of Arsenal vs West Ham 0 - 2. Arsenal lost. Yes, but this is the result. Arsenal are good at playing but bad at goal execution. It's quite a disappointing result. This time, they must completely lose the point.

And today, they will compete against Fullham. Don't let them make the same mistake, namely only winning in ball possession but not executing the goal. Arsenal must do it this time. If not, their position will be increasingly threatened and the points will be further away. Currently the top positions in the EPL are very competitive so they really have to be careful.
Fulham are not in the best form in the last 3 matches so if Arsenal fails in this match they really won't be able to get up to get back to winning ways. However, this match will be an away match for Arsenal, which we know is quite difficult in away matches, especially since Fulham, who was in bad condition in the previous 3 matches, wants to get up quickly to be able to get points again. Yes, the difficulty for Arsenal is to complete the final result like when they faced West Ham where Arsenal had many good opportunities but failed to score.

In this match, Arteta must advise his players, especially Gabriel Jesus, to be able to complete the opportunities they have to score goals because if Gabriel Jesus fails again in this match, I think Arsenal will have to look for new stickers in the transfer window. Arsenal squad depth is really strong so this match shouldn't be too difficult for them. Previous defeats do not have to be a burden for them, but they must be able to learn to be able to perform better.

I already said don't expect much from Manchester United if their consistent level continues to be like that even though some will say that will change after the transfer of players in January. Another problem they will encounter is that they will be the same as half of the season if the pattern used by Erik ten Hag does not change.

Last season Rashford appeared as the top scorer and was a player who performed quite well. This season everything changed for Rashford.
Their game is like there is no captain.

After I watched the match for Manchester United at home to Nottingham Forest, it seems like there are a lot of things that Erik ten Hag needs to change in this half of the season. Because this pattern of play does not have a good way of defending at the back, Erik ten Hag still has to polish and direct new patterns for the players better in this half of the season.

Apart from that, Manchester United this season is still not as good as last season and this has been quite realized by Manchester United fans as well as by the Manchester United team management itself. And one more thing is that the transfer market which will open soon can also be used by Manchester United to get involved in buying new players again if there are several old players that they have to sell to make the team even stronger in this half of the season.

For the entire match today, it was only Crystal Palace and Manchester City matches I watched, but the match I concentrated on was Crystal Palace against Brentford because I believe the match will be so interesting due to both teams defensive strategy and counterattack, and seriously, I enjoyed the match despite it not being to my satisfaction. I expected the match to be a draw because many times of their meetings some few seasons they always ended in a draw, so even today I was expecting a draw because they both are not in good form recently, but Crystal Palace was really lucky to win the game. I was really happy for them because it had been over eight years since they had won last.

Changing manager will be the best option for Manchester United, but the problem here is that, who are they going to sign as his replacement?
There are no good coaches outside there without a team, and no coach will be willing to leave his team for Manchester United unless if the management promise to give them all the financial support they need to completely restructure the team.
There is no single sign about Manchester United willing to sack Eric Ten Hag out of the club. The defeat of the team against Nottingham Forest by 2 goals to 1 was another disappointing result. After the victory of Manchester United against Aston Villa, we thought the club might improve next but surprise no surprise, they just failed again, and they will keep failing over and over.
Signing new contracts and bringing fresh players, as asked by Eric Ten Hag, will make the team improve in quality eventually but I don't know why I don't feel this will be the case for Manchester United.

It was a comfortable game for Manchester City but the score could have been bigger than this anyway of course. It seems like Haaland and De Bruyne's absence at the same time affects the scoring productivity quite much even in this kind of games.  Sad   De Bruyne was actually in the substitutes but Guardiola didn't want to sub him in.

Maybe Guardiola wanted to have him on the pitch as of the Newcastle game ahead in the league. It is an away game and could be a really tough game. Newcastle are worse than the previous season though but they can still be dangerous.

It was more of a boring game for the eyes to see, I didn't believe a team like Manchester City having Pep Guardiola would dominate and play some entertaining shiit for the fans.

Not just Erling and Kevin. The absence of Jeremy Doku also is important. When Kdb was away, Doku would ignite the tempo of the game but we saw the drunk Jack Grealish making my eyes itch as I watch them play the slowest game since Pep Guardiola took over.

Eddie Howe also having a poor season with Newcastle United. He's protected by the media because he's managing a small club and he's a British manager. I'd love them to put same energy they put into sacking Erik Ten Hag and do same with Eddie Howe.

Still not sure under Erik ten Hag how he can give more better result for Manchester United in this season, left domestic league only after losing in Champion League and very poor achievement if United can't finish top fourth standing in this season because they have been longer time can't win domestic league and out from top fourth will be more pressure for United as top one of Premier league team.
I am also doubting Ten Hag’s quality on Manchester United performance; I don’t think he can change something good for the team because he is not progressing despite having good players that can play and move a team to at least top four because the players have individual qualities, they just need good coaching in order to blend together to give a better performance.

Changing manager will be the best option for Manchester United, but the problem here is that, who are they going to sign as his replacement?

Manchester united inconsistency is obvious because it's hardly for them to win matches consecutively just look at their awesome performance against a consistent side like Aston Villa during the mid-week and for them to lose to Nottingham Forest is really very degrading. Maybe their match should be predicted like if they win a match then their next match will be against them or they draw because that's exactly what is happening to them. It's really a bad one for them to end the year with a loss but hopefully they may do more better next Year.
Expecting a lot from Manchester United while their playing strategy is still not consistent is wrong. What I mean is this, Erik ten Hag in Manchester United's 19 matches in the Premier League this season really understands the weak points that exist when Manchester United plays, but in reality he completely ignores and allows it to continue to happen.
If in the last match Manchester United beat Aston Villa with an emotional comeback, against Nottingham it should be easier for them to win.

The selfishness of Manchester United players is almost the same as Erik ten Hag's character. I say they all want to present themselves as the best when played by ten Hag.
Even though Manchester United can close the final match of this year with a win and have the opportunity to improve their position in the standings.
Considering how inconsistent Manchester United have been since the start of the season, I don't think the manager Erik ten Hag in any way have a clue of what best to do in other to restore the club and bring the club back to winning ways. Yesterday, I was able to see an analysis of how inconsistent the club has been since the start of the season and all I can say is that the club is heading no where with the current manager.

Playing against a team like Nottingham Forest, Manchester United played like a team who were playing against a top club in Europe as they struggled to get a win in that game. If the club management truly wants to see a rise in the club's performance, they must sack the current manager and hire a better one

The inconsistency of Manchester united continues, the lost to a a low side Nottingham Forest and this comes after Manchester united came back from a two goals to nill trashing from Aston villa to regain the lead and ended the match 3:2.
I think a team that's as inconsistent as Manchester united needs to work on the team, this is not the type of characters a team who is guning for anything at the end of the season. Also great work from Nottingham Forest today.
To be honest, I never expected Nottingham to play that well against Manchester United. But everything was different from the start of the match, where from the first minute, Nottingham spread threats to Manchester United's defense in that match. I know Nottingham is playing at home, but it was a very different performance to many of their previous home games. Nottingham was motivated to win and do their best, as a result they actually did it and won the match.

Manchester City and Aston Villa also won their respective matches today. Both teams really struggled to secure 3 points even though Aston Villa and Manchester City actually dominated. Aston Villa was lucky because they received a penalty at the end of the match, otherwise 2-2 would be the final score that would not have changed.

Arsenal could not hold Westham to a draw less a win for them. Arsenal will remain in second place below Liverpool who are topping the table now. It was a game well played by Arsenal but were just unlucky not to have scored any goal in all the 90 minutes of play. West Ham had their chances and they were able to convert them to goals instantly. West Ham will remain on 6th position and continue their fight for the top four of the table. The table and point difference from number three to six looks so tight and anything can happen at anytime.

The whole top 6 looks very tight there in general, it's almost unrealistic to guess who will win this season. Liverpool are going well so far and are deservedly at the top of the table, so I have no complaints about them. For arsenal it was just a bad match, there's no other way to put it
That right, the competition will be even tighter if Man United and Chelsea return to the European zone. I think with a very narrow point difference, opportunities for changes in position in the standings will continue to occur, most likely even until the end of the season. Losing points in just one game will have a big impact on a significant change in position, neither team is completely comfortable in their current position.

Man City has found its rhythm again in securing full points, especially as it is reported that key player De Bruyne is ready to appear again. This is a real threat to Liverpool, Arsenal and Aston Villa, I think if these three teams fail to maintain their concentration then Pep will bring City back to take over the top of the standings.

The transfer market will open soon, we will see the rumors that previously developed come to fruition. I hope United and Chelsea can move actively in this transfer window, because they look like mediocre clubs this season, maybe by recruiting new players these two clubs can be more consistent in securing points in the second half of the season.

Yes, the competition is so tight that Arsenal's defeat cost them a drop from first in the table to fourth is staggering to say the least. So I agree with you that this rate of change in the table will continue until the end of the season. As for the transfer window, even in the media there are few rumours about it and I can't imagine who and where in the EPL might move to
