I think this year's race only belongs to Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City as Mourinho shared his opinion. At the moment, I think Man City may miss some points, but they are still in good shape, and also just got a new cup to improve their achievements.
Just a single loss so far and overall good balance between goals scored and goals conceded. I am not sure if I have the wrong impression, but I feel like Liverpool conceded a goal too often too early in the game. I think I was surprised some time the last weeks that they often are behind early in the game. A Google search seems to confirm that, but I haven't looked into the details. The strongest Liverpool I have seen like a few years ago usually took control over the game from the first minute onwards. It was quite demoralizing to play against them. That's what they can still improve this season. To not give the opponent the idea that they have a chance.
I've been watching Liver's matches this season, even though I'm not a fan, the feeling of watching them play is very exciting, the level of drama in each match, and what I always feel is that Liver is real. will destroy any team in the final minutes of the match to get 3 points. It seems like their style of approaching matches is gradually changing, no longer retaining the philosophy of total dominance but instead applying pressure when they are really forced into difficult situations, the results of matches. Recently, they have all shown high professional quality, and this season I really believe they deserve to be strong candidates for the championship title.
But I think you mistakenly believe that Liverpool's strategy was about total dominance. It wasn't because Klopp doesn't play like Guardiola. But Liverpool plays a counterpressing tactic that begins with their attacking line. As soon as they lose the ball, all lines do keep their positions and attack forward into the opponent lines all at once. This makes it extremely hard for the opponent to get out of their half and often leads to losing the ball again within seconds. That looks like Liverpool is dominating the game similar to how Manchester City does it with ball possession because they often have the ball, but the approach is different to getting the ball. Liverpool is about getting it back as quickly as possible and instead try to attack as often as possible with higher risk whereas Manchester City is about keeping the ball as much as possible and being more patient, perhaps at the cost of having less attempts. But I agree that it's very much fun again to watch Liverpool play.
