They change coaches many times in the last ten years and did not achieve anything big except the Europa League title with Jose Mourinho. They two times ended Premier League as a runner-up but with very big gaps with the league winner. After two successful seasons with a runner-up position, they fell down quickly and wiped out all hope in their fans then their rebuilding process started again and again.
Ten Hag brought some hope in the past season but in this season, he is stepping on similar failure journey like Jose Mourinho and Ole Solskjaer. Manchester United began to give their coach, Ten Hag more power against star players but it seems this strategic change has yet turned into big positive impacts in Old Trafford.
I agree that if they want to change their coach position, it is too early now to do that. They can wait until the season ending and can find a new coach in the summer. Finding a temporary coach is not a wise approach as it won't help them to have a solid long term plan for their club growth.
Club officials and United management may think the same as us, replacing Ten Hag is very risky for the stability of the team while the season is underway. The option to keep Ten Hag until the end of the season also makes sense, but management cannot let go and leave Ten Hag alone, lest he fall worse than now. On the other hand, retaining Ten Hag has two possibilities in the future, what I mean is that there will be fans who will ask him to leave and there will be those who will ask him to keep him, that is what must be understood.
Apart from that, United current squad shortcomings do not only come from Ten Hag, the players and everyone involved in the club contribute to their good and bad performance. However, it is very natural that Ten Hag is first in the spotlight when United is playing badly, because he is the person most responsible for managing the team, and after that the United players themselves. Regarding the interim coach, it would be better for United not to do that, because it would be better to find a successor to Ten Hag who can work together in the long term, if they actually fire him later.
