As it stands, Mauricio Pochettino will prove he's worthy to remain coach at Stamford Bridge if he's able to succeed in their next 8 games ( Brighton, Fulham, Burnley, Arsenal, Brentford, Tottenham Hotspur, Man City and Newcastle). And with their performance of late, it's safe to conclude that it will be more bleak days ahead for him.
Aston villa really showed class and precision against them during the weekend games and with 15 total goal attempts, 7 were on goal, while Chelsea had 10, only one was on goal which meant the remaining nine were wasted shots. If you saw the game, you'd be convinced that Chelsea needs help and if cares not taken, the season they might well go on to relegation.
Sitting at 14th place, they've only won a game out of six matches played and this is not a record Todd Boehly will be impressed with but then again, fingers are pointing in his direction as somehow, their lack of incompetence has a way to circle back to him. I mean, how will an owner be the only one calling the shots? He's just a businessman and no football expert so in a way Chelsea's problem was caused by their owner.
No matter how good a club is, it will not develop well if the owner is not even very skilled in the world of football. I started thinking about Todd Boehly not really knowing about football after I saw him make big changes to the management and staff of the Chelsea club after he became the new owner. Which made Tuchel even uncomfortable at that time. And several Chelsea officials even left before Tuchel was finally fired. The people who left the Chelsea club include experts who have contributed a lot to making the club reputable in the Premier League. But when Todd Boehly came along. They leave the club.
So Chelsea's problems are actually much more complex than we expected. Because this is not just about the trainer or owner. But also about the team or other staff within the club. Includes data analysis experts, sports scientists and more. And I think Chelsea must get back the staff who have previously left to return to the club. The point is that currently management within the club still needs a lot of better attention.
Losing to Aston Villa has destroyed many of the hopes of Blues fans at this time. Because I think this is the worst season which is certainly much worse than last season. I can't blame Pochettino. Because there is indeed a little strangeness going on there. We know that Chelsea in pre-season showed really good quality. But when the season started we could see Chelsea's performance which was clearly much different from their performance in pre-season. And I think there's a problem there that we don't know about. But I hope that at least Chelsea won't get close to the relegation zone.
