Actually, I don't understand this choice. It would be sad for De Gea if this happens because he is now a goalkeeper who will become a Manchester United legend. Despite being 32 years old, we can say that last year was also successful. Also, I think the bad goalkeeper impression necessary for change cannot be spoken for De Gea. De Gea is one of my favorite goalkeepers.

But I think we are going to see these top clubs do have a plan to spend a ton of money, that way we are going to end up with a big transfer period just yet. Graham Potter can't be blamed for Chelsea's slump, but he is responsible for not doing a great job for his team. Chelsea experienced a decline in performance not because of Tuchel, Potter and Lampard, but I think the truest reason was the politicization of the war between Russia and Ukraine which caused Roman Abramovich to sell Chelsea to Todd Boehly.

Chelsea have been a top team in the Premier League for a long time, even before Manchester City dominated the Premier League in recent seasons. At least Poccetino can become a better coach and bring Chelsea a title for next season because I'm sure Poccetino can be a better coach than Frank Lampard.
The worst Chelsea coach in my opinion is Frank Lampard and I really regretted Chelsea's appearance when under this coach.

I don't know what the Chelsea management thought so that they recruited Lampard.
Hopefully it will be the last time he manages Chelsea because I really want to see the strength of Chelsea back to how it was a few years ago.

You are right that don't expect too much from Chelsea next season because the repair process will take time. It's no wonder that this initial process doesn't show maximum results. Pochettino was faced with quite a lot of Chelsea problems so that with his current capacity any coach would not be able to if he was required to improve as a whole. Give Pochettino time to finish his job, both Chelsea fans and owners must be patient with this process and don't rush to change coaches just because Pochettino can't fix the team in a short time. Like it or not, everyone has to realize because Chelsea's condition is really messy.

Everyone does mistakes and De Gea does too but I don't think his contribution towards the club can be easily forgotten. He has pulled off lot of saves and I don't know but I think there will be points when other clubs interested in him but he still choose to play for United saving them lot of costs going out and looking for new goalkeeper and let alone secure it. Yeah he did mistakes but I don't think he deserves the sticks at all despite the contribution he made.

Right now, if you ask me there are only few goalkeepers that have been that committed to a club for such a long time. So in my books, despite the mistakes De Gea made I still consider him as one of the legend of the club.

So, will David de Gea get a contract extension or will he really leave? Considering that David de Gea's contract will also expire at the end of this month, and so of course if David de Gea does not get a new contract then David de Gea will leave on a free transfer. What's more, David de Gea's age is no longer young but indeed, at 32 years old, of course David de Gea can still play at other clubs. But indeed, if Manchester United don't extend his contract then Manchester United will indeed make an overhaul of the squad, and I think that's good too.
