What? Yes, Newcastle United had the best defense alongside Manchester City in the season 22/23. Is there anything to argue about in your opinion? I am not sure I get your point...

They became fourth because they dropped 9 points out of their last 5 games whereas Manchester United only dropped 3 points out of their last 5 games. It was not a very lucky ending as Newcastle could have easily become 3rd, but they didn't do well enough in the end. Other than that they are perfectly ready to compete with Manchester United.

It will be more interesting to see how Liverpool and Chelsea will perform and whether they can make it back to their best levels. If they can, the fight for the top will be rough for everyone.

If Newcastle indeed had such a fantastic defence more than other clubs aside from Man City as you painted it, why then did they concede so many goals that eventually made them the fourth this season? It's all about football, the front, middle and back must always be good to achieve the necessary feat needed. And to me, if there is any to praise this season, I'll give more kudos to the strikers more, especially Callum Wilson though the mid and back are to be praised too. More is still needed to be done as you said, Newcastle is not that consistent club, but hope they can use this season and next to prove doubters wrong.

As for the Champions Leagues, congratulations to them, but still don't see them reaching the quarter-finals, this is even if they improve, there are vicious vipers awaiting them and these guys are not smiling...lol.

The team will be very disappointed that they didn't make it to the champion league next season, but at least they will learn a lesson that they should have taken seriously from the beginning of the league this season. Sadio Mane's absence is one of the biggest factors affecting Liverpool this season; the team performance looks poor this season, and even in the performance of Salah, you will understand that he really misses Mane's performance.

whoever, believed Newcastle will be play in the Champions league this season and Liverpool will miss it, in game of football, buying good players are important too, you might have the money and still buy players that are not suitable for the club, like Chelsea, they bought rubbish players to the team and they suffered it. while Newcastle make use of their money and they are enjoying it. its all about wise spending.

I don't think not renewing Firminho contract is a mistake,he is a good player yes but compared to the other names mentioned here it is only natural for him to start as a substitute player most of the time,even when he was a regular at Liverpool he used to make clamorous errors before the goal and losing a lot of opportunities before the goal,so based on this I think there is not an error not to renew his contract and with that money to look for a better player to substitute him.

The another one mistake is Liverpool not want to extend Firmino's contract, he's only play as a substitute and he can score more goals than Nunez and Gakpo.

But the bad perform of Liverpool was caused by Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz long injury, the next season both of them will back. Liverpool will be solid because Salah will always play in right winger and Luis Diaz will play in left winger, I think the center forward would be Nunez or Gakpo, both of them will replace each other.

Of course they regretted it. A year ago, they were one of the two teams to dominate the league together with Manchester City, this year they fell far short of expectations. I am not sure if Liverpool sold Mane because they felt they will buy Nunez to replace him. If it was what happened, it is a dump move by Liverpool and a let down to Mane. Just because Nunez scored good number of goals in an unpopular league doesn't mean that he is fit to replace Mane who has a very large work rate in Liverpool.
Actually, Liverpool's selling of Mane is a big mistake they made and I am sure they regretted it at one point or the other even if they are not going to admit it.

Newcastle has had the best defense of the Premier League along with Manchester City by far. Now they are also qualified for the Champions League, making them an even more attractive club for new players. If they can slightly improve their offensive personnel and get more high quality depth into their squad, I don't see any specific reason why they shouldn't be able to compete for the top 3 or top 4 again next season. They have had some spectacular games where they showed their very best and destroyed clubs like Tottenham. Usually that doesn't happen as a one hit wonder. With the money they have I think there is a lot to come from them in the coming season. First of of all it will be interesting to see how they are going to do in the Champions League.

Newcastle's main strengths this season have been their excellent match tactics and strong defense. Newcastle's defense has been very strong this season. They conceded only 33 goals in 38 matches. While the defense was strong, the performance of the attacking players was somewhat erratic. And so this team has lost points in several matches. And so if you want to maintain the consistency of performance in the next season, Newcastle must take an experienced striker in the team.
