When I saw Manchester City squad it was kind of funny to me, but I know even with the young squad Manchester City used, I know Chelsea won’t be able to win the the match, they just embarrassed Chelsea, they showed Chelsea that even with their young players, chelsea can’t win them. If Manchester City used their main squad, I can’t even imagine how many goals they are going to score today.
Although it looks like man city feed in their second team but if we analyze the team we will find out they are excellent players that would start in almost all the remaining 19 clubs in the league. The only players lacking proper experience in that squad were actually just three; Rico Lewis, Cole Palmer and Sergio Gomez, the rest are proven first team players that were just pushed to the bench because of the brilliance of the regular starting players. Another thing that might have prompt Pep to make this twerk could be because there are rules that players must participate in some certain number of games before been eligible to receive the winners medal. This twerk could also grant first team players to have enough rest for their next important finals coming up. Pep could also use same team again for the midweek match.
From the start of the season, it must be admitted that the Arsenal players played well, that's why they were ranked 1st in the standings for a long time, but if you look at the winning mentality in the squad, we don't have this yet, we have to admit it. It was very noticeable when Man City started to catch up with points and the pressure was getting higher, Arsenal's players seemed unprepared, and in many crucial matches Arsenal made a lot of mistakes that shouldn't have been necessary.
Arsenal actually did well from the start of the season till February. From the start everyone had the belief that Arsenal resilience will definitely be tested when towards the ending of the season due to their lack of squad depth. I was also part of the people that thought that exiting the Europa league and other cups would benefit them as they would have less fixtures. Their biggest problem was the injury to Saliba and Tomiyasu. This two affected how they set up in the back.
Arsenal also lacked a leader that could stand in and talk the team into winning spirit whenever they are down. Matches like Southampton, West Ham and Liverpool showed that they lack leadership
