Not only V Dijk, almost all the Liverpool defence wasn't solid. Except for Arnold who was a striker in the match. The whole team is still suffering Mane's absent and it is difficult for them to cope. Today Nunez was on bench and even when Firmino was removed, I thought that Nunez will come in but Klopp instead brought Jota as a sub.
Liverpool needs to calm down and discover where the problem is coming from so that they can fix it and return to the excellent team we used to know in Liverpool.

I would say Liverpool's defense line has gotten quite sloppy like Arnold. I think they could have stopped some of the goals and break down some plays. Everyone was highlighting how Liverpool's defense worked, how easily they were penetrated by Brighton's attack. I think the goals were a defensive mistake. It was a bad defense for Liverpool.
I was reminded of Manchester United some time ago whose defense worked very poorly. I wish they wouldn't be Manchester United vol 2. Lol.

The decision to release Sadio Mane seems to be back in the debate. I wouldn't say Liverpool's current form is due to the loss of Sadio Mane, but his absence from the squad is quite pronounced. The arrival of Nunez who is expected to contribute well, in fact, until now he has not given anything to the game from Liverpool. The draw against Brighton made them lose the confidence they had before the season started.

Brighton appeared surprising, to be honest, I didn't think they would be able to hold Liverpool to a draw at Anfield. Trossard looked amazing with the hat trick he made. If only Webster didn't score an own goal then Liverpool would most likely lose.

Overall every Liverpool line is not functioning well, almost all the comments highlight the defense. Yes that's right, the defense line is too weak. The midfield and attack also did not show Liverpool as a big team. They played too casually and seemed to have no burden at all.
This time Liverpool were saved by OG from Brighton players (Adam Webster), if there was no OG Liverpool would have ended the match with a 2-3 defeat.

Trent Alexander-Arnold defending was very awful he always give back ball to their opponent cheaply i.e lost possession too often and very slow in tracking back to defend, Liverpool midfielders had not really help their attacks too Fabinho, Henderson and Tiago played below expectations, I believe that resulted in their lack of scoring goals, Brighton got a well deserved draw for their new manager De Zerbi though they could have won the match but atleast he will continue from where Graham Potter had stopped, I hope they continue with their performances consistently and push for top 6 position at the end of the season.

Every weekend I see a Liverpool fixture I see them as winning but after 90 minutes I get disappointed. It's been occurring far too much this season and it's now becoming a big problem for klopps team. You definitely can't want to be a contender for the English Premier League and play so poorly.

Todays game against Brighton was a defensive disappointment from Liverpool and that has been a summary of their games this season. Going down by two goals so easily and early is unbelievable I think it's time klopps shows some players that they aren't bigger than the club, players like Van dike who has dropped in his defensive performance needs to be checked properly.

I definitely agree with you on that Man City and Arsenal, base on the look of things with this four clubs current performance, Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea, it's most likely that the league is between Manchester City and Arsenal, however , things could change in the near future for Chelsea and Liverpool. Chelsea picking up 3 points in today's game has brought them up in the league and is quite indicating that things could change from here if they continue with this pace.
