At the beginning of Arteta appointment as Arsenal coach in 2019, many people doubted the decision and even many football observers criticized Arsenal attitude, of course this was a natural thing because Arteta had never been the coach of a club, let alone a club as big klub like as Arsenal, of course it's a gamble.
We all know that his best achievement so far has only been assistant coach Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, but the underestimated Arteta actually made many changes to the current Arsenal squad, Arsenal's playing style was totally attacking when Arsenal were still being trained by Wenger slowly began to disappear and now it seems that the arsenal game is more balanced between Defensively and also attacking, I think the knowledge that Arteta learned from Pep Guardianola has been fully applied to Arsenal style of play which is more like tiki taka which is modernized by Arteta right now.
Yes, we can understand why people doubted Ateta at the start of this season even though now the situation has changed 180 degrees. Ateta struggles to form a team mentality, he finds it difficult to win match and that is something that will cost the team in the long run so when that bad record is not corrected immediately, the team will be sacrificed.
Luckily Arteta slowly found a way to mentally shape and motivate his players to be better and that has brought them to the top flight they are today. There is a weakness that Arteta has not resolved, which is not being able to win match against top teams like Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and several other teams.
Technically Mikel Arteta is good manager who is learning his way... He only added people to his management to work on mentality of the players. With his decisive decision-making, Arteta has been able to spark a change in the mentality of the club from inside out. Players, staff, Arsenal's board and the fans are all in support of him now, given the work he has done at the club. The players are very much a work in progress. Their average age means it will take time for them to reach the levels of a Manchester City, Chelsea or Liverpool. In the meantime fans will have to be patient and hope that other challengers for the top four slip up and Arsenal manage to stay consistent. Recent form would suggest that they are capable of doing just that.
