Congratulations on winning! Your premonitions were right and United unexpectedly (for me) defeated a strong opponent. Ronaldo was on fire today and it ended with a hat trick. Great result and good mood before the match against Atlético (which had an unconvincing game against Cadiz). Now I have optimism about 1/4 of the Champions League.

Spurs had some real good chances and I think if they had taken that well then I am sure Spurs would have come out as winner. I wouldn't call poor effort from Spurs but they should have done a bit better against the 3rd goal from United. Ronaldo became free when Romero tried to check on Varane's move and by the time Doherty realised the Ronaldo's move it was already late and only he could do was to block his movement but that wasn't enough to stop that towering header. Really what a great time Ronaldo had out there... Lovely...

Bad for me I missed the match and was not aware of the goals score but am gonna head to live score to see how the game went with full analysis, but from the comments of other forum members I know Manchester United hard a nice play in today's match. Manchester United needs to win in the match as the previous game was a poor performance.

Agree, if Ronaldo good performance is the same as now, I think the chance to win is very big in the Champions League. But Atletico Madrid vigilance is also getting bigger and trying to bring out all of his abilities which Diego Simeone has the unique characteristic of changing the pattern of the game in the second half. I hope these two teams in Leg 2 will show all their abilities to give satisfactory results.

I don't think it is that easy. Champions league knockout stages are very difficult and at every stage you will have tough opponents. Now one strong game doesn't means they will everything. Performing in one game is one thing but maintaining a consistency is what makes a team different and a champion. Right now if they target to become that, they have to keep on winning games.

Tottenham were in top form entering this match, very evident from the very fast play in the game, but I believe Manchester United would have won even without CR7, they have some other good players that can produce a fair performance. Heard many times that Ronaldo was the problem of the club, today he has shut the mouth of his haters. True man united team can win without ronaldo but in today game he was so crucial since he scored all their goals it was a shame to see some poor performance from the defenders especially maguire who almost wasted his effort and man united defenders are the reason why the club is doing badly and why they will probably not qualify for champions league.

Kudos to Manchester United on this match day live to have put out a beautiful performance. I was I.pressed most especially by the way Ronaldo did put out his best to ensure the game is won in Manchester United's favour. Ensuring he scored after each consecutive replies in the penalty and own goal from H. Maguire. I'm sure Ronaldo must have gotten some motivation for the game out of K. Benzema's performance from the Real Madrid 3:1 PSG UCL game during the week. They did themselves good to have won all 3 points from Spurs as it is in there vest interest. Now, its left for them to just hope that Spurs shares point in one of there remaining games.

With some feud around for future of Ronaldo here in Manchester United today he has done magic of season for them which is timely as after few days they are going to face Atlético Madrid in very crucial Champions League match this can give them some good positive booster because now with this win against Tottenham they can feel some good confidence against Atlético Madrid for this match.

Even they are still trailing by Arsenal for fourth spot as lead is just 2 points and Arsenal is having 4 matches in hand, but now this big win is something special for them, and they can feel energetic with this all for rest of season and their next tough challenge in Champions League match.
Hopefully now Manchester United fans will change their way against Ronaldo, which was creating serious feud in the last few days after derby lost.

I was happy to see that Liverpool defeated Brighton too and continued to chase Manchester City in the league standings closely. I really want to see this rivalry for the league title even on the final week of the season. Liverpool are right behind them only by three points for now. This can be six points again after the Crystal Palace game too. And it looks like this will be the case because I don't give any chance for Crystal Palace to resist Manchester City till the end.

And the most amazing game today was Manchester United - Tottenham. I was just delighted with Ronaldo's great hat-trick first of all. And they really deserved to win this game too. Maybe they won by 3-2 but I would like to appreciate Tottenham's big effort also. The statistics of the game was really similar.

Spurs looked decent in this game, but the Red Devils were stronger... By the way, the stats of the game were about the same, 10 shots from each team, but Man U was more accurate... Amazing that today all three goals were scored by Christiano Ronaldo! Grin

Well, for today I guess there are no questions asked when it comes to Ronaldo. He probably was even angry when he got substituted by Rangnick in the 83rd minute.

Anyway, I am impressed by the position that Arsenal managed to be in now. They have four games less than Manchester and could really cement their 4th place if they take home points from these games decently. At times I really thought that Arteta won't be able to get Arsenal back to the top of the table.

I understand Ronaldo scored three goals and he deserves hail but I know what he would be more after which is Champions League, I believe he will not deceives himself and he should not think he is still will shine like when he was in Real Madrid, Manchester United is not going far up to quarter final with what I analysed. Ronaldo shined today, but it would have make sense if he played like this with Manchester City, until Machester United play with clubs like Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea and win will be the only time I will start knowing the club is going somewhere again.
