Yeesh but we had some really close calls with Brentford. Still on a knife's edge I'd say. Enjoying possession, but really careless almost arrogant passing from the back to give some great chances to Toney and co, but we've paid off with a goal from a setpiece. As long as we keep their corners count low, we should be fine. Two more goals, Jota and Hendo, and I'm very happy!

Meanwhile, Leeds, damn Harrison!

@tokes I'm always laying into Fred but he seems to be a tick or two better under Rangnick? My imagination?

There was a match he looked good but all in all it’s Manchester United.  With their financial muscle and the prestige I think they could easily acquire better players for the club.  City has way less prestige but they were able to do it.  United should hire a guy who’s good to handle the transfer market just like what City has in Txiki.  If they keep leaving that job to Ed Woodward, they won’t go anywhere.  But I guess that’s why they brought Rangnick in for an advisory role after the season.

I think city will be win the Premier  Leaugue Title in 2021/2022.Now the table topper in City and second in Liverpool not too much point although equal. This season City showing their great performance. They have good team combination and they played are really well.We are enjoying their Counter attack. I hope City will be champion and i Think they will be deserve it.City play well in all matches and the have to chance to win Premier League in 2021/2022.
in the Premier League City is indeed a very extraordinary appearance. even City left the other team with quite a lot of points difference.
Unfortunately, City's performance is not matched for matches in the Champions League. their game is quite good, but not as consistent as in the Premier League. maybe City is currently only focused on the Premier League. and they want to continue to secure that trophy at home to City.

Even if they win their matches before the Champions League, it is unlikely to help them win the league itself, or rather come close to first place. Not only are there plenty of matches ahead, but the match against each other will also decide a lot, even if it's not that soon. City are more likely to stay in their place, they have a very strong squad at the moment

I agree, Liverpool may not be able to become champions this season considering that the points gap between City and Liverpool are 11 points, its mean, there must be a minimum of 4 losing games that City must accept and Liverpool achieve a win, mathematically it seems easy, but for the match, this can be very difficult to achieve.
Mathematically it's easy, but in reality, it's not as easy as we think. The difference above 10 points is not an easy thing for Liverpool. They still rely on the condition of the opposing club in a non-optimal state. In this case, Liverpool and Man City must be able to show in one game at least Liverpool scored above 3. With Brentford already realized, now Arsenal is the team they have to face. There is a 75% chance that Liverpool will win on paper. Just waiting for the facts on the ground, will at least 3 points without reply be a score that they can get easily?

In my opinion, Everton should have fired Benitez a long time ago, indeed at the beginning of the season Everton performance was quite impressive by successfully winning consecutive wins, but Benitez predictable strategy has made Everton continue to sink, and even in 13 matches they only won 1 time, right?
That's a pretty bad achievement for a team as big as Everton? From some media that I read, there are several names that might replace Benitez at Everton, Gattuso, Mourinho, Martinez, Rooney and Lampard.
If it had to be replaced in order to support the achievements or performance of a club like Everton, I would prefer or agree to choose Rooney and Lampard or one of the two, because considering the experience of both when they were still active as players was also very extraordinary.
That's in my opinion if for example there is a vote in the selection of the change of coach

Liverpool showed their strength in a great way by dominating their Brentford game today. I really admired them in this game too even in the absence of Salah and Mane. They are playing like a machine and got a very well-deserved 3-0 win also. But the most interesting result was in the West Ham - Leeds game. Leeds somehow managed to get an unbelievable win by 3-2 in an away game. West Ham are one of the strongest teams in the PL now actually. I don't know how they lost this game home.
No Mo Salah, no sadio mane no problem for Liverpool, that was what they showed yesterday although brentford are not really a strong team but  Liverpool really played a good football to seal the win as usual showing dominance from the very first minute till the end, ending the match with 68% ball possession 27(13) shots(on target) leaving  brentford with nothing whatsoever to cheer up with not even a corner kick.

Coaches like Rafael Benitez and Jose Mourinho should simply retire or take a break.
There tactics are simply outdated, taking a year or two and try to keep themselves abreast with the current style that win games.

José Mourinho has been doing a good job at Roma, certainly next season we will see Roma even more competitive. Either way, despite Everton having contacted Mourinho, he refused to leave AS Roma.

At the moment, it seems, Roberto Martínez is the most consensual name to succeed Rafa Benítez.
Although Roma are still not consistent enough and haven't found their best performance yet, Mourinho has said that he is happy in Roma and honors his current contract agreement with Roma.
Everton who just sacked benitez have to find another alternative coach to continue their struggle for the rest of the season, and maybe lampard can be a good choice for a while instead of rooney, I think to get a good coach right now is quite difficult, because of several names of potential coaches who is targeted by everton is now still training other team  such as martinez who is still coach of belgium.

They were able to get a really comfortable and easy win against liverpool - Brentford today. Brentford weren't so lucky to score even once they did pose a danger. With this win, Liverpool placed second in the league, ahead of Chelsea. There is no serious difference between them and City. In the coming weeks, Liverpool don't have very strong opponents, I think they will score points without making any mistakes, until the Arsenal match. They will probably be the winners in the Arsenal match.
with last night's victory over brenford liferpol finally able to return to second place in the standings, with 45 points, and has played 21 matches, and manchester city is still firmly at the top of the standings with 56 points, but manchester city has played 22 matches, liferpol can still catch manchester city, because the opponents they face in the next week are not too heavy, but manchester city is playing very consistently at this time, he is unbeaten, i hope manchester united and liferpol are able to stop man city's steps in the second leg meeting later The competition for the champion is still running very fiercely, we'll just have to wait and see who will lift the EPL champion this year..
Liverpool got the win with their team's quality. If they get their one missing match a win, the difference decreases to 8. I think City will be the champion, but if the points gap stays in the 8 band, City can be shake a game or two with the champions league games. Until then, Salah will come back, so we can talk about their championship chances. Nevertheless, City plays the best football of all the league. I reckon their chance to win the title is over 70 percent now.

I honestly feel that Manchester United started the season better than at the moment. It is true that the previous coach was not managing to get the team to play to their full potential. But Ralf Rangnick isn't able to do it either.

If we look closely, the performance of the two coaches has not been very different.

Very accurate evidence and I like it very much, thank you for giving this very good thing, but for now I also haven't seen an extraordinary achievement at Manchester United, even though Manchester United are also included in the CL for this season but are unlikely to win if there is no improvement in terms of playing and also in terms of good strategy.

despite how manchester city dominating the whole game , they seems really struggling get into the chelsea penalty box and make an effective attempt.
tuchel has given pep guardiola a complicated counter tactics , we can see it by the only goal scored by de bruyne through a long shot and kepa weak on anticipating such shots. chelsea indeed the only team could do that to pep team

Because what Chelsea did was create two barriers in front of the goal. This makes it difficult for any team to score a goal. For me, Tuchel only tried to defend and eventually try to counterattack.

I think Chelsea had the ability to do more, but they just didn't create almost any danger for Man City. If Chelsea couldn't do it, how are other clubs going to do it? Of course there may be suppressions, but at this point they will be difficult.

Everton did good in the past season but in this one, they are doing very terrible and having a few points more than delegation area. It is unexpected result at beginning of season. Their players have good quality and Benitez might have biggest responsibility for this bad results so far.

Martinez is best because he did managed Everton in many seasons but they will have to wait until after World Cup 2022 to sign with Martinez. Everton can do this in summer but for now they have to find a new coach even for temporary and short term purposes.

Lampard and Rooney are best and I know Rooney does good management in Derby County but Lampard has more experience in Premier League so I would like to choose Lampard.

I think Manchester City's next strongest opponent is Manchester United.

At this time?
After what I saw, this weekend, Man City completely dominating the game against Chelsea, despite having only scored one goal, I think that at the moment there is no really very difficult opponent for Man City in the Premier League.

I believed that Chelsea were the team that would cause the most difficulties. But he spent most of the time playing on the counterattack, and leaning against his area, without creating great opportunities. I don't see, at the moment, other teams doing what Chelsea couldn't do.

Southampton next and i wish they could give pep guardiola a surprise.

As I said after the loss to Norwich, Benitez has been sacked by the Everton board. It seems like Rooney and Lampard are the most serious candidates for the job.
Rooney?! Sorry to say it but isn't it a bit early for Rooney to be a manager of an EPL team? Lampard is a much safer choise.
Yes, yes it is. However we do not really get what we want at all times do we? Lampard may ask for a lot of money, money that they may not be able to afford, so what should they do in that case? Just let the assistant manager rule forever? Just get Rooney in there as an alternative and you will be fine.

Not like Rooney is a brand new manager neither, he has been doing it for a few years in a big league, Zidane literally had near to zero manager experience before he became one for Real Madrid. Dude had easy gig as assistant for a short while and then became Real Madrid manager all of a sudden and got 3 champions league with them.

Not saying Rooney will be the same, but at least Rooney has a few years experience in this field and literally just one division below. He could be doing fine, we wouldn't know, we just need to wait and see. Lampard is still a better candidate.

Benitez did not make much sense as an option for Everton from the start, although they started well enough eventually it fell apart. They are in the bottom 5, safe from relegation for now but way below the standard of the club of such stature.

In my opinion, Everton should have fired Benitez a long time ago, indeed at the beginning of the season Everton performance was quite impressive by successfully winning consecutive wins, but Benitez predictable strategy has made Everton continue to sink, and even in 13 matches they only won 1 time, right?

In my opinion, the most suitable candidate to coach Everton is Martinez, because Martinez, who had coached Everton in the past, has proven to be able to make Everton a club that was feared by his opponents, Martinez's contract with the Belgian National Team will expire in June, this could be an opportunity for Everton to return to work same with Martinez, while Lampard and Rooney, I seem quite doubtful they will be able to revive Everton performance because of their quite minimal experience as coaches of big clubs.

I just hear about Jose Mourinho, Everton is really interested the special one coming to London but I don't know how the progress is because he has a good job in Rome. a number of names sticking out like Roberto Martines, Ole, Rooney, and Lampard. As Condoras said, I doubt Rooney can handle the club because he has a little bit of experience. I guess when Everton didn't get Mourinho's sign, Martines is a potential one.

[Well, he's actually doing a great job at Derby. I know that Championship is a level lower but still - he deserves a shot with a PL team.
Derby is in bankruptcy, they have no money and have been deducted 21 points this season. With these points they would be 11th in the league but they will probably be relegated.
maybe that's a plus, Rooney is still on Derby even though it will be degraded. Rooney is still faithful to that club like he was a Manchester United player.

To be honest, I never like the way Benitez manages his teams but on the other hand, I didn't expect either to go so badly with Everton. Hopefully, Everton will find its way with the new manager soon, before it's too late. It will be a shame for such a historical club to relegate.

I think he was great up until early 2010's. His teams were tactically astute and balanced and he was a master of knockout tournaments. However, he failed to progress with football and cannot be considered as a top coach anymore.

About Benitez, he's done poorly so far, should have been sacked a long long time ago.
Good thing they did this at this moment because this might end them up in a bad position at a critical moments.
I don't see either of them both Rooney and Frank Lampard taking the Job.
