Who would have thought Liverpool with the lineup they have, might be 9th in the league coming next week. They were the team to beat along with Man City but apparently, not too hard a task for team to get past them or at least get a result. ...

Liverpool really played one of their worst games against Chelsea. Having only one shot on target for a team like Liverpool must be really embarrassing. They got only one win in their last five league matches. And with this performance, they will also be getting away from the 5th Everton and maybe they won't even able to qualify for international tournaments. It is really sad to see this team in such a bad condition.

They were the team to beat along with Man City but apparently, not too hard a task for team to get past them or at least get a result. At the begining of the season, it seemed like Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea would give Man City a run for their money but with just 11 games to go, Man City are cruising their way to another Premier League title. There is a good chance that they win the Champions League this season as well, with most major teams under performing (except Bayern).
Precisely, everyone thought the top four would press on as always and put pressure on man city but unfortunately a game of football has a mind of its own at times.

This is why that Liverpool win in the champions league was a shocker to me because I put some money for the Reds to lose as I considered their poor performance would carry on but unfortunately i lost my wager, I guess my timing was off. But At this point all premier league teams want a piece of Liverpool as they fancy bagging themselves all three points with a struggling Liverpool side that had been  crippled by missing key players.

Klopps hands are tight as he has to work out with limited options and the new defenders he bought are not as good as those who are injured like Dijk and so. It really spoils the run when your key players are out for a long term. Right now scoring has also become their problems. The list of troubles just went on growing and growing after Dijk injuries. It is hard for Klopp as well.
I know it's pretty difficult for Liverpool and Klopp atm, they have a couple of injury issues, but surely that's not excuse enough for this sort of performance in the EPL, despite their injury crisis, they still have more quality players than teams like West Ham and Leicester city that are above them in the table. It's difficult to win the league when your key players are out, but to be out of the CL spots and even looking set to lose a Europa league spot is terrible, and they can't hold on to the excuse of injuries any longer.
There are many who are saying Klopp must go (in twitter and so) but I don't think he has done something wrong over these past few months. Its just that things are not falling into the way they want.
It's his job to fix things going wrongly at the club, Klopp was given quite a lot of time before he delivered a bit of success to Liverpool, so I don't think Liverpool will thus be in a haste to do away with him atm, I'm pretty sure he'll be given more time to bring the team back to their previous form.

Liverpool really disappointed their fans incredible this is one of the worst title defence by any EPL club should I say was injuries to some their key players was responsible for their poor performances? e.g van dijk injury  or the team outrightly not good enough this season, with the look of things too 4 spot is gradually getting out of their reach except an improved performance in their subsequent matches else they will play Europa league next season .

Liverpool's performance thi season is far from what many people predict. I don't think they will be out of the top 4, considering their performance last season was so great. Meanwhile, at this time, they were struggling to win. With a few games to go, if Liverpool lose 2-4 matces, it can be sign if there will be no chance for the reds to go to UCL next season. maybe even be absent at UEL.

Yes, it's true nobody expected Liverpool to be this terrible. I can't believe my team. We made Anfield a fortress, now it's just a regular spot where anybody can come get 3 points if they really need it. At this point, I can't keep putting the blame for our poor performances and results on our injuries especially with key defensive players. Our squad problems runs deeper than that at the moment. It's a pain to watch my team at the moment.

Congratulations to Chelsea on the victory. It was duly merited. The best team won tonight.

I am also very surprised by Liverpool's performance this season, I never thought Liverpool's performance could be this bad. I agree that now
Liverpool's decline in performance is not just a problem for many injured players. But I believe Liverpool's performance has decreased because of
the morale problem of Liverpool's current players who have fallen,  and made their self-confidence drop too, they need a winning streak to revive
their currently descending morale.

Because the last five games with 4 defeats must have made the morale of Liverpool players very badly. I agree that Chelsea really deserves to win,
since being coached by Tuchel, Chelsea's performance is very different. They are very ambitious in winning the match.

Update: Liverpool is back to its losing ways...is this a sign that the have given up on a top four finish, can't even talk about the title because the title chase was over way before the year 2020 came to an end. Could Liverpool be throwing all they have towards the champions league?
Hahahahahahaha, this guy is funny i swear! Wasn't expecting such a funny update but it seems true. It always starts with one, then two and on it goes. Liverpool played a game were they got possessions but fail to have shots on target and actually getting the goals. That's what they should have considered important but, it seemed they had a game plan for which they must follow and Chelsea won't let them do much.
Its a nice one for Chelsea, a much needed win if you ask me and Thomas Tuchel and his boys had it nicely in the bag tonight. Well done to he team.

2 out of the 4 spots available will most likely goes to Manchester United and City. Chelsea and Leicester are still trying to book their spot for the remaining tickets for the Champions League so it would be hard however Liverpool could make it next year if Liverpool win the Champions League

looking at the current scenario I would say Chelsea can finish in 4th place and Leicester can finish in third place. unfortunately liverpool doesn't have a great chance of finishing in the top 4 this season. tottenham is also in bad shape and will end well below the top 5.

Uefa champions league will be having new faces from the premier league which shows just how competitive this league is but then again it's disappointing how the perceived top four teams have played this season and we can't say it's because of the pandemic as all teams are going through the same conditions so the playing field is leveled.

So what is their excuse??

Liverpool - chelsea

diogo jota is back and I hope he plays today, who knows liverpool will be able to win and change the bad scenario that it is currently... but I have little hope that liverpool will be able to win

Liverpool loses for the fifth time in a row at Anfield, with the continuation of no offensive returns, they are sterile in creating opportunities, and not even good in defense either or even keeping in possession of the ball .
Chelsea is very convincing with Tuchel, who still dazzles me in every match in terms of his ability to use his cards in a distinctive way And take out the best possible of each basic and reserve player .Mason Mount, the best talent in Chelsea this season, would have a great deal if he continued like this .i think now we can see Liverpool not in the Champions League next season,

Spurs won 1-0, Everton won 1-0 too and advanced to the 4th spot temporarily before being pulled by Chelsea which won also 1-0 vs Liverpool. Such embarrassment, even a spot for EL will be a hard target for them if they will continue like that seriously!
Away x3!

Liverpool won't win the CL this year but i'm confident they'll finish in 3rd or 4th place...Leicester are a fluke and it's starting to show in the recent weeks by dropping points left and right, and West Ham are clearly overperforming and it's a matter of time before they go back to being the old rusty Hammer. Also West Ham still need to play vs. Arsenal, Man Utd, Everton, Chelsea...not easy, will prolly drop tons of points in those matches, good opportunity for Pool and the Blues to secure a CL spot

Yeah Manchester City has better overall performances and after yesterday's game, Im not even sure anymore if Manchester United can hang tight on top 4 until the end of the season . Anyway we will know how this turns out after today's match, If Liverpool can win against Chelsea then Im pretty sure they are going to get in top 4 for sure otherwise it would be hard ( Lets check how Jota play today  Tongue )

Probably not for now but if Liverpool wins today that would be different story. To be honest I am personally hoping for Everton and Chelsea to get in top 4 instead but this is just my personal preference. Simple reason for this would be I'd love to see how Everton play in Champions League next season  Tongue

Tottenham are leading 1-0 away against Fulham right now. But they have a really poor performance. Fulham conceded an unlucky own goal. Tottenham got only one shot on goal in the first half and they have had only 3 shots in the second half and 1 of them is on goal so far. They are trying to keep the score at 1-0 desperately. I think Fulham really deserve to get at least a draw here.

Liverpool performance has been truly bad in the last games; Tuchel's Chelsea (not Tuhulum as somebody wrote  Cheesy) is the favorite for this match IMO. I am not going to bet tonight but if I would have to pick a result I would try 1-2. Both teams to score seems also a very interesting bet.
Yes i agree with both teams to score since both team are performing well recently especially chelsea and since today matches seems to be heading to no btts so i think this will be a very competetive match.

at least a draw is good for both.

For me is the "best" bet choice. Neither of them is in their best form and in an empty stadium any team can snatch the win. So GG and draw @5.00 it looks very tempting... Tongue Grin
A draw will be good for all top teams actually. City to confort its record. ManU, Leicester and West Ham to get more chances for CL spots.
@condoras yes, you are right it is about the seats in an empty stadium and with a diminishing performance from Liverpool, it is like an opportunity for Chelsea.

@snipie Yes, a draw will always be good but not for all the top teams at this moment, because if the top team is at their best then the top team should get 3 points. In this case ManC, Leicester and West Ham but unfortunately ManU is unlikely to be included in this round as this will be seen from the opponents it will face.
ManC is still at its best so it will be easy to win, even though the opponents it faces are the 2nd ranked team and even the city rivals but I'm sure that won't prevent it from continuing to win streak.

Smart is not enough, there must be skills
If we take into account the last head-to-head matches between them, Liverpool seem more dominant. But now, Liverpool are having a hard period lately and Chelsea are playing really nice with Tuchel. They were so close to defeat Manchester Utd in the last match. [...]

So, Liverpool comes here with a streak of four straight losses, but they won the last game and boosted their morale ... although winning the last place on the table shouldn't be a big triumph.
Chelsea has a much better performance than Liverpool, since Thomas Tuchel took over the team Chelsea no longer loses.

Much better Chelsea after being taken over by Tuchel will this be another defeat for Liverpool?
When a bad performance against a big team will doubt I think Liverpool need another struggle in appearance so that they are no longer missed from the losing streak.

Well I have more confidence in Chelsea now than Liverpool even though this could still be on the brink of winning at home.
Bet on Chelsea 1.7 odds.

Two interesting matches in the next couples of minutes Fulham vs Tottenham while West brom vs Everton before the match of the day interesting tie indeed Fulham another relegation battling team squaring up against Tottenham who struggled lately before routing Burnsley 4 nill their last match interestingly Mourinho  starting the duo of Bale and Alli. Everton is also eyeing the top 4 too sitting on the 7 position with just 2 points separating them from top 4

I decided to pick WBA vs Everton, 0-0 after 9 minutes but both teams are showing good attacking intent. Hopefully the match will have goals & I didn’t pick the wrong one to watch Cheesy

Well so far it looks kinda ok , right ? I mean they are creating scoring chances and the game seems to flow in direction of getting goals for the 2nd half and I'm gonna jump on this game too. Right now Everton needs to win to still have " faith " that they can catch the last spot for Europa League as even with a draw today they will still be on 6 depending on who is winning on Chelsea - Liverpool.

I may be bold with this one but I'm gonna pick WBA to score.
