I think the match between Newcastle United and Leeds United today will be quite intense as Leeds United are a team which prefers to play offensively and Newcastle United would surely want to stop their losing streak today. This might be a high scoring match between these two teams but I guess Leeds United will stand a higher chance winning the match today.
This match is between newcastle who are not able to win in areally long time and they did not score in their last three matches and leeds on the other hand didnt score in the last two so the doubt is surely in the players mind and that maybe a factor for a more balanced game so i think newcastle has a golden chance to stop their losing streak
I checked the head-to-head match statistics of Newcastle and Leeds. In the last 5 matches both the teams have won 2 and drawn 1 match. But in the last match between Leeds vs Newcastle, Leeds got a huge victory by 5-2 goals. So I want to put Leeds ahead a bit in this match. Whatever the outcome, I think the match will be very exciting

I like games between the leaders of the standings. They've been rich in goals lately! Cheesy
January 28 will be the game Spurs vs Liverpool... Bookmakers give preference to Liverpool, but in my opinion bet on Spurs win with odds 3.2 looks attractive! Wink

I wouldn’t bet on Liverpool at the moment, they’re in the worst form I’ve seen from them since Klopp became their manager. They have a real problem from losing VVD & Gomez.

Ruud Gullett would be a good manager for Chelsea.

Today there is this....

Newcastle v Leeds gah, 2 of my battle teams. This should be a great game. (BT SPort)

Top matches today for me will be  West Brom vs Manchester city and Southampton vs Arsenal Arsenal will be looking to bounce back from the FA Cup defeat at southampton with a win; While city will want to extend their own win run in the premier league without talisman Debruyne.

Southampton 2 - 1 Arsenal
Westbrom 1 - 1 Manchester city. My predictions.

Top of table clashes are a hit and miss for me. Particularly because I enjoy watching these sorta matches as you get to see good football if the two sides are at their best but... It's harder to make predictions on such games. You never know who would come up on top or who won pull the bigger surprise.

As for Tottenham vs Liverpool, I'm not sure about Liverpool winning. We haven't put up that much of a performance lately which explains why we went from 1st position in the league to 4th right now. I'm not placing bets on that game as I tend to be bias when it comes to Liverpool and it isn't time to be bias.

That Leeds game and Southampton vs Arsenal game for me are the top matches for today. The saints are just two points above Arsenal and given how desperate Arsenal is to get back to the top half of the table, I'd say it will be an interesting game.

The club should have stood by him in this trying period after-all OGS also passed through similar problem that when Man Utd was under performing but the club backed him, presently Man Utd had turned the table and in-form now same with Arteta in fact ex Newcastle player turned soccer analyst  Alan Shearer once taunted Arsenal that they will battle relegation this season, when they club was struggling in league with losing streaks, he was backed and now the team has pick form, I believed Lampard need more time to turn things around while some of his approach and tactics in some matches are questionable particularly the formation of the team, well let see how Tuchel steer the club in their subsequent matches
Manchester United learned their expensive lessons from sacks on Moyes, Van Gaal, Mourinho and huge budget failed on transfers. They gave Solsa more patience, more time and get some success so far. It takes Solsa 3 seasons to bring Man Utd. to where we are now. I am still confusing on the capability of Solsa as a coach but only look at the result now, he and Man Utd get something good.

Chelsea need to give Frankie more time as he loves the club as same as Solsa. They were wrong when they fired Mourinho seasons ago and now Frankie.

I refuse to buy this bullshit that Lampard created a toxic environment, because for me he’s a humble player and humble coach. In my personal opinion he became victim of his own success, and sadly he brought too many player’s with little or no premier league experience and that’s why he failed to turn things around.

I think Frankie will soon to be a great coach in few seasons. No one knows all the transfer in summer was made by Frankie's decisions. Abramovich often invades too much in transfers of Chelsea.

In early of this season, people talked Frankie made good decision to sign a free contract with Thiago Silva who improved the confidence and quality of Chelsea's defense. Werner and Havertz are failures now but as you said, they are new to Premier League and need time to adapt to the league. Not all players can play excellent in first seasons as Bruno Fernandez.

Good luck to Frankie and I hope he will return to Stamford Bridge again.

Mourinho still shown he loves the club so much. He said good words to Frankie and in his speech, I see he loves the club, and has due respect to Frankie.
Quote
"I don’t think Frank wants to speak to me or anyone outside of his family and his friends," Mourinho said.

"Of course I am always sad when a colleague loses his job. Frank is not just a colleague, he's an important person in my career so of course I feel sorry a bit.

I agree. He will be a good choice for the manager role at Chelsea. I liked his style when he was at Dortmund and PSG. He is a really good manager I think. After Lampard leaves, I believe he can help the team improve its performance and be much better than now.
Every new manager looks like a good choice for Chelsea until they start their job. Chelsea doesn't believe in the rebuilding process as seen in the duration of previous managers they hired and sacked. Best of luck to him.

Can anyone really pick a clear winner out of those line-ups other than both the Manchester games? They all look like very close match-ups. Chelsea should win at home against Wolves though but all else look like potential draws to me.
The Spurs vs. Liverpool looks tough to decide but the home team will take the W. Neither team will settle for a draw since both of them are chasing the Manchester teams. Spurs looks better defensively.

btw, did anyone see WHY exactly Lampard got the sack? apparently, there was a toxic atmosphere surrounding the club which he actually created. The infamous Dailymail have an article about the whole thing[1]...looks like Lampard didn't get along with the players and also a few members of the board! wtf? not the type of stuff i would expect to see linked to a club legend

Sacks often come from bad results and internal conflicts that can be between coach and president, big member in the board director. This news need to be verified and after many months later we might know the truth behind the sack. Do you remember how long it takes till the day the secret behind the sack of Mourinho and drama on the conflict with J.Terry was revealed?

Lampard as a coach is a good one even he is a young coach and has not too much experience in that position. The sack shows how fast things in football can be changed. A few rounds ago, Lampard and Chelsea was still on the top and people shown them respect after the clash with Tottenham.  Chelsea with the sack will go to another chaotic season and it is not helpful for them to rebuild their team. In my opinion, Lampard should be given this season and the next one as Chelsea can not blame all things on him on the bad performance and adaptation of Kai Havertz and Timo Werner in the Premier League.

With this strange season, Chelsea can climb back to top 4 in few matches if they win all.

Something to do with his intense enthusiasm when he is on the field? He was seen several time complaining alot to the officials especially when Chelsea lose so he probably has that same kind of attitude towards his players as well.

I dont think that this was all his fault, Chelsea has few players that play on the same position and also they lack the player needed to be the playmaker on the field . Well lets see how Tuchel does in Chelsea, probably there wont be that much difference until they sign the players needed for the changes

Thomas Tuchel should be the new Chelsea coach and maybe this will have some kind of shock therapy for their next match but I am not sure how fast he can fit the Premier league play system after managing mostly German clubs and Paris Saint-Germain from 2018-2020 after he got fired from PSG.

Its not the first time that Roman sacked a manager and fir a top tier team he sacked too much as he got sacked 14 coaches during 17 seasons . at a rate of one year and two months for each coach only .
This may be normal in the world of finance and business, but in the world of football this is called systematic sabotage and destruction of the club's image from premeditation and surveillance .

It remains to be seen how Tuchel will set up his team to play in the premier league because i see this challenge as the biggest in his coaching career; if Tuchel can pull it off, it would be a very good recruitment by Abrahamovic; Can Tuchel bromance with Thiago and the german players could help him assert himself to the premier league sooner? time will tell.

Giroud scored the first goal for Chelsea. Regardless of how the game will end today, I think the probability is high that Thomas Tuchel (former PSG coach) will be introduced as the new Chelsea coach in the next few days. Lampard does not yet have the format for such a big club.

Its good that the coach of a team is one of the team legends but frank lampard still not have the required presence to manage the things inside the team but i dont really expect many things from the new coach

Chelsea sacked Lampard today and will prolly appoint Tuchel as the new manager. I don't think he would want to lose his first match as the coach. The highest result Wolves can get from that match is a draw.
Maybe Massimiliano Allegri could be an option besides the tuchel, he is also a good coach, he won five scudeto with Juventus.
Lampard sack letter was prepared after the game against Leicester City Sarri won his first major title as Juventus boss last season, Massimiliano Allegri winning several titles does not make him any better, Tuchel is a good attacking coach just what Chelsea needed
