City won the last 3 league games at the Etihad quite dominantly - it was 5-0, 2-1 and 4-0. Liverpool will have a really tough game there without Van Dijk and Fabinho and with Matip doubtful (he was on the bench against Atalanta but it's still not decided if he'll start).

If Phillips starts, I'm sure that we will lose. Not because he's so terrible at defending but because his passing game simply is not good enough and City will force our play through him.
I really hope Matip is fit for the game, City is also missing a few good attacking options but overall is going into the game in better condition.

Personally, City's a favorite. But considering how things are going this season, a 4-0 Liverpool win would not surprise me at all.

That 5-0 was years ago in 2017 and that 4-0 was the first match after it was clear Liverpool would win the title last season. They probably still had a hangover back then Grin What I try to say: I don't think that these previous matches mean that much. With Citys current form I don't see them as the favourites in that match. But as you said Liverpool has its problems in the defense, now even without VVD. So a hard match to predict. My gut tells me Liverpool will take this one but betting-wise it would probably make more sense to go for BTTS or over 2.5.

I think that Chelsea have the potential to be the champion this season. They are playing better than the last season with their new transfers. Most people think Liverpool or Manchester City will do it but I would like to see a different team than Liverpool and Manchester City to be the champion this season.
Right now talking about Champion is too early as we have very long season and mostly we have some good and solid positions after December break so for me currently we have few teams those can claim title this year and these are Liverpool, Manchester City, Leciester City, Chelsea and Tottenham because these all are doing very good and need sometime for more better and aggressive results Arsenal and Manchester United are not in this race as they have some serious problems which need to settle for this all.

Before lockdown Liverpool had only one draw and one loss, however we have to realize inside just 7 games they have played this year, they are already at 1 draw and 1 loss, which shows us that they will probably do a lot worse in the next games compared to last year. Do you think they could win 22 games in a row without having any draw or loss?

If not, that means this season will be worse than last season. Now that doesn't mean they will lose bunch of points back to back, but I feel like if you are City, you could still technically manage to close that gap if you have a great momentum. What City needs is the power of Liverpool before lockdown this year, which is a rare thing to happen but if City plays like that and Liverpool keeps playing like this, even losing this week wouldn't change much for City.

My favorite team for this season is again Liverpool. Although I was shocked by the match that Aston Villa demolished Liverpool, I think they are still playing at a very high level. They showed that with the huge win they took against Atalanta on Tuesday. Chelsea have signed good players this season and I think they can finish the league at the top 3. I also think that the last team that can make it to the top 3 can be Tottenham or Leicester. Both of them are making an impression that they are very dedicated this season. Lastly, I think the surprise team of this season is Everton. They have started the league very good. If they maintain this performance, they can finish the league at a very good place.

Here is why I think Liverpool will win over Man City. For the last few matches, Man City hasn’t been able to score more than one goal, and most of those were made by Raheem Sterling, whereas Liverpool has easily put in at least 2 goals in all it’s EPL matches. I could even predict the correct score will be 1 - 2, but that is obviously risky as Liverpool might score more goals. Asian total over 3, and LFC Asian Handicap -1 sound like safer bets.

If you are so sure that Liverpool will win then you should place a good amount of money on them since the odds is around 3.3-3.4
You will have a nice profit if the match will end as what you expect but you should not force yourself to bet more than what you cant afford to lose.
I wont underestimate City as they are going to play on their own home although there will be no 12th players (fans) but being a home team is still an advantage.
I think double chance Draw or Liverpool is a good choice with nice odds (around 1.Cool

Man City vs Liverpool is the most exciting game this weekend. If either team can manage a win it could be a real psychological lift & make them believe that they can become champion. I do have a feeling it could he a draw though.
It seems that Manchester City must be careful, Liverpol has just won 5-0 vs Atlanta. New player Liverpol , Diogo Jota scored a hat trick against Atalanta. When compared to Atalanta I think City are better. But I think Liverpol is excited and has a lot of confidence. As for the final result I think Liverpol will win by one goal difference.

We can't decide who will be the champion of the league with this one match. Each team still has many matches left. There is still plenty of time for each team to show their strength. Liverpool and Man City are the strongest teams in the league.

The thing is though that Liverpool drop relatively few points over the course of a season. It's not like they are expected to lose another 6 or 7 games to give opportunity for Man City to catch up. The fewer points they drop elsewhere, the more vital a win is in the head-to-head. Here's the table last season at the start of lockdown - Liverpool played 29, won 27, drawn 1, lost 1... in this sort of situation any points loss can be crucial.

Man City vs Liverpool is the most exciting game this weekend. If either team can manage a win it could be a real psychological lift & make them believe that they can become champion. I do have a feeling it could he a draw though.

This is the most competitive and exciting match of the Premier League. Everyone is waiting to watching this game. IMO Man City will win the match or the match will be a draw. Man City is now number 10 on the points table. They will show their strength by winning this game.
It's too soon if this match is a determinant of who will be the champion, this is the start and every team will still be able to change because even these two teams are not in a good position. Even though Liverpool are at the top of the standings but still, their position is still not that strong. I personally don't believe the match will end in a draw, because I think in a situation like this the two teams still have a chance to win the match.
I think so too. We can't decide who will be the champion of the league with this one match. Each team still has many matches left. There is still plenty of time for each team to show their strength. Liverpool and Man City are the strongest teams in the league. And they have a huge fan base. So we always discuss more about these two team. But everyone is very excited about the match of Liverpool vs Man City. Lets see what will happen Wink

Liverpool and City both had a great game just last night, they played so well with Liverpool scoring 5 and city scoring 3 and it was just an art how they played. I can't wait to watch this week, last season during the pandemic period Liverpool guaranteed the title so they didn't really cared all that much at the end there, the team with almost unbeaten record just got destroyed by city last season because of how the pandemic period worked out for them but they were champions so they didn't care.

This week will not be like that, not only they are the two best teams in the league right now, but this 3 points actually do matter in the long run, you are both getting 3 points but also you are making your closest rival lose 3 points as well so it is really too valuable. I wonder what is going to happen, I can't bet on this there is no way.

I'm still in the relegation zone, simply cannot get anything right. I knew it would be a season full of surprises, but this is slowly getting out of hand Grin

I'm lucky I placed 2 side bets as well, these 2 are looking good so far. Leeds proving to be a decent team (side bet on staying up) and United (side bet on finishing below Chelsea).. well, are just being United.

Thanks for the clarification, all my attention went to that stupid move I saw over there, he needs to try being a goalkeeper, who knows how good he will be Tongue
And yes I agree that Real Madrid doesn't need him nor the extra money that will be paid for him, Better bring Mbappe and find a good midfielder somewhere else..

I'll probably take Leicester at 2.32 ML and Liverpool 2.54 DNB.
^ Good odds right?

Liverpool on a DNB looks like a good one, yes. I think the Villa game was a weird blip; other than that they've looked good. If we take a draw out of the equation then Liverpool to win seems a better call than Man City. Agree that home advantage is less of a thing now we have no spectators.

Not sure about Leicester / Wolves.

Match week 8

I'm looking at Leicester vs. Wolves and Man City vs. Liverpool.
I'll probably take Leicester at 2.32 ML and Liverpool 2.54 DNB.

Hard to read between City and LFC because both have been in great form (in scoring goals at least) as of late. Home or away doesn't really matter with these teams.

See how the EPL table has changed in just a couple of weeks, that's to tebyou that, the big teams are rising up to seize the league as usual. By the bed of this week, you'll see Everton dropping further down should they be met with a title contending team. Even Leicester city too, they are bound to face some defeat that would push them down. Manchester city is user to come up, so will Chelsea so, the chances of these teams are pretty much slim.
Look at Leeds, they started quite strong and I really believed in there progress but, they've dropped to the twelveth position now and I'm very sure they didn't see themselves there weeks ago. I guess the goal now for them is to stay in the league and it's a good dream.
