Yesterday after surprising results in Saturday and Sunday finally the games ended like most people had predicted with a draw for Burnley and a win for Wolves.Covid surely has changed the scorelines in the Premier League so far as the missing fans in the stadiums play a determining factor in this happening.

think that this season could get a lot of happenings like this one, it is completely new to play without crowd

There are a few things to consider for matches played without crowds, and determining the answers to these questions might help when trying to predict results:

To what extent does it remove home advantage?
Does it affect bigger teams more than smaller teams?
Does it affect certain positions more than others (e.g. defenders not being warned that an attacker is closing on them)?
Does it mean that players lose concentration, so individual mistakes are more likely?
Does it remove the sense of urgency, so players take longer on the ball and get dispossessed more easily?
Does it affect certain types of player more than others - younger players? foreign players? seasoned veterans? more extroverted players?

I think the effects of crowds are overestimated. It really shouldn't matter whether there's fans cheering you on or not as chanting and clapping isn't a performance enhancing drug. I think the home advantage comes more from home players knowing the surface and pitch better, but the home advantage is only slight. I'm sure you could make an argument that crowds could even be a distraction.
I am sorry hilariousetc but it seems you have never played football in the real world. I had a futsal team some years ago and our supporters really made a difference.
It's important to feel that your supporters are pushing for you and are waiting for you to score a fantastic goal; not to mention they are good also if you lose because they won't let you down (unless your team is utter crap). Nope, I am sorry but I disagree completely with what you said. Wink

Everton built up their squad last season and this one their squad become better with James and Carlo Ancelotti help the club and the squad play strong with his tactic. Everton can fight for a position in top 4 and might be fight for the trophy too. If Carlo can find solutions to protect James and have good alternative tactic for Everton when James is frozen by opponents.

as an Everton fan, it would be great to fight for the title this season, but i do not think that this is an option
nevertheless, it would be great to finish in top 4, and secure spot in Champions league next season, first after fifteen years, that were the years with Duncan in top form

No chance Aston Villa is winning the league. Let's be realistic they have nowhere near enough quality and especially squad depth. I am also quite sure they will not be in top 6 and maybe just maybe they can stay in the top half of the table.
Aston Villa will be same as Swansea City and Michu years ago. They won't have enough strength from their substitutes and this season top 4 are not weak as in the season Leiceister City won the trophy.

Everton is different story though. They look great at the moment and they have underlying quality. Arguably they were underperforming last couple of seasons. This season they have top manager, they made a couple of great transfers and I saw them as legit top 6 team even before start of the season. If they get a bit of luck as well, maybe they can even challenge for the title.

Both Aston Villa and Everton have a good chance to win the league if they could keep on running this hot. On Premier League 2014/2015 , Leicester City ended up on 14th and they won it the next year. It would be great if same thing could happen to either Everton or Aston Villa ( Everton was 12th and Aston Villa was 17th last season )

This week premier league game is a week of draws. For about four (4)games has played draws.

Actually there are 6/10 games that ended with draws

Who could ever imagine or believe that West Ham could  at the end draw Tottenham by scoring 1-3goals to equalize after 78mins of the match.
The unexpected is really happening in this year's premier league.

To be honest, I wasnt that surprised anymore especially when I watch how Aston Villa managed to score 7 goals against Liverpool but I wasnt really expecting 6 draws though. On the other hand, Aston Villa has won 4 times in a row and that is quite an achievement considering that they only managed to win 9 times out of 38 matches last season.

West Brom 0-0 Burnley (HT)
I could have guessed this game would he a bore draw, let’s hope for more excitement in the 2nd half.

Well now that's the 6th draws of the week!

Is it a new record? You know having 6 matches ended with a draw in a matchweek it's incredibly rare. The 0-0 or 1-1 might be normal tho .. but have 3-3 , 2-2 and other big numbers at the same time it's just abnormal.
Should we stop betting on favorites during this pandemic? As that's all what i feel, the game has changed.
The low odds mostly beaten!

Leeds v Wolves should be a better game later.
Even though leeds dominated the whole game , it's fact but sadly wolves managed to get one effective attack and it was Jimenez through his shot from 20 yards and deflected to kalvin Phillips.
Unfortunate leeds, they still remain become a black horse as a newly promoted club. Decent odds on them but this underdog should be really considered as a killer of big teams.

Bore draw indeed, but really good point for WBA I believe. WBA should be extremely happy with each point they manage to take with this quality they have in their squad. If they manage to stay in the league Bilic should be named the coach of the year lol

Well I hope it stays like this as I have 0-0 on the predictor. Two boring teams that struggle to score so I'm optimistic but I think 0-0 are probably the hardest or rarest score to go for. And for Leeds, I expect them to win but only by just a goal.

By the way, I made a small bet on this ongoing match (west vs burnley) hope West can win..
It doesn't matter if it's for fun and hopefully you win that bet. West Bromwich Albion have better quality compared to Burnley and that is why there are more gambler choosing them to win today's game. But the first 45 minute there was no goal even though West had more chances. I think the score will change soon in the second half, I don't think the result will be a draw.

I was a little surprised to see the final result of the Tottenham vs West Ham match. 3 goal in the first half I think made them win the match, but unfortunately they were not able to stem West Ham's attack in the second half to a draw they had to accept especially in the final minutes of the match. To my surprise, there were too many surprises in the Premier League this season. lol

Omicron is another FUD
snip..
Things have change alot with no crowd but Its kinda stupid to think that people use this as an excuse when their team lose . The thing is , Premier League has been crazy so far and we had 5 draws out of 8 games so far and people are just looking for excuses to blame that on instead of reflecting on what their favourites teams are lacking
The supporters on the pitch are very important for the players, their support is the fuel for the passion of the players.  The final score that have appeared in many matches during the season have left a lot of people disappointed..

Tottenham 3 - 3 West Ham

I don't believe this results, tottenham leading till 70+ minutes, when Bale come in, i think tottenham will create another 1 goal in this match and thinking if the results Spurs are the winner, so i decide to turn off my TV, but i missed good attraction from West Ham. They just needs  14 minutes to complete 3 goals and make special one shocked. Bettor who joined in 80' and bet for tottenham maybe also shocked with this results.
There's one common thing anong the small team this season they play and sit back building momentum not minding the scoreline and unleash the energy some minutes to full-time.

3:0 at 81mins and 3:3 at 90+2mins that's just wow from Tottenham

I have seen alot of people that complain about this when their team lose the game in the home game but there are 19 away games that would work in favor for their favourites team if there isnt any crowd on the away game

What a game Tottenham West Ham! Spurs deserved to win but they went full-on during first-half and that has come back to bite them at the end. In fact, West Ham kept going until the end with a great score from Lanzini. It was hard to guess the final score this time  Smiley
It was shameful honestly to concede 3 goals at the end of the game... This means they were exhausted and less concentrated which shouldn't happen at all. 3 substitutions took place after the 70th minutes, one of it replacing Bergwijn with Bale, dunno really if those substitutions were useful for the team Undecided

i think that it is pure psychology, it is not the same to play without audience, and we can see that home team advantage disappeared in most leagues where that was meaningful, and this could happen as well, players were sure that the match was finished, then West Ham got back with a goal, two, and Tottenham was down, without anything that can pull them up, no audience, no substitution, so West Ham scored one more by the whistle

think that this season could get a lot of happenings like this one, it is completely new to play without crowd, could be meaningless as well
I believed this is a tactical blunder on the part of mourinho this is a team that had been playing well from the beginning and even playing without crowd shouldn't warrant conceding three goals within a span of 15 minutes is ridiculous after conceding two goals they should "pack the bus" and defend very well to protect their lead. although the manager must have blamed his defenders he also had his own shortcomings.

with the 3 goals that Tottenham got I thought it was safe, but their weakness and concentration just disappear
I do think that the most significant contributor to the weird results this season is the lack of a pre-season. Players aren't quite up-to-speed yet, and some teams seem better prepared than others. Having said that... the ridiculous loss of concentration by Spurs is likely due to the absence of a crowd as well. Nothing focuses the mind like tens of thousands of people yelling at you. All they had to do was go ten minutes without conceding 3 goals.. and they couldn't manage it! In a normal season, this isn't going to happen.

Aston Villa was lucky enough to score a goal in 90+1 minutes.
Villa is a strange case. They did buy well during the summer, but if we look back to the end of last season after the restart, they did really well. Their first season back in the prem, they bought huge numbers of players, and it obviously takes time for them to gel together. Add to that, they had a lot of injuries to some top stars. I think their position of just being good enough to survive was more reflective of this than anything else - the quality of the squad was better than it appeared, and once the season restarted, they were more of a cohesive unit, as exemplified by their much improved defence... from porous to rock-solid. So now, this season, they have fewer injuries, the squad has had time together, plus those new signings. I think we are looking at top 10 for them this time around.
