Wolves are bookies favorite but they are neck and neck in the league

I predicted a 2-0 win for Wolves in the Bitcointalk pool.

They've been playing some decent football lately despite the low scoring matches. The Eagles on the other hand got only 1 win in the last 4 games and it was against the worst team in the league. Nuno and the lads have the momentum, should get the 3 pts tonight. Btw, Jimenez to score at 2.10 odds, not bad (:

Even allowing a few into stadiums exponentially complicate things: how do you make sure everyone's not a virus carrier? How do you avoid they will hug and cheer each other when their team scores a goal? Let's face it: it's better if stadiums stay empty for now. Otherwise, at some point they will have to stop professional sports altogether.
Talking about tonight's game I see a draw between Wolverhampton and Crystal Palace @ 3.20 pays nice

agree that it is better to have empty stadiums than pandemic, think that this is clear for all

regarding tonight, yeah draw is the closest to bet, but i do have some thoughts that Crystal Palace could win tonight, they have really good score away this season, and seems that home advantage does not exist on empty stadiums, maybe i will just skip it

Where does the information about the stadium being empty come from? I see that many people started to write about it, but I can't find any references to the official announcement anywhere...

Not the most interesting football is waiting for us today... Wolves VS Crystal Palace... Both teams have almost the same statistics of past games... But I think that the home team will win... Wink

I do not support fans coming back even if the numbers look better in the near future, we have seen how when people go out the numbers rise, just because numbers get better doesn't mean we should become defenseless against covid, it is too risky to let people back into stadiums for now, and I do not mean full because that is not going to happen anyway, I am talking about not even allowing 100 ticket holders, just the players+staff+workers and maybe few family members and that's it, no fans allowed should continue whole year.

These numbers are bound to go down one day this year, maybe it won't but I feel like it could be better like June type of numbers or early July, but even with that we saw that it could increase back up very quickly so it would be worth it to just not allow just in case for this whole season.

Agree with your opinion, it is very risky to let the audience re-enter the stadiums. Because crowds will make the virus spread faster.
Currently, there are several matches postponed due to positive staff or players during the pre-match test. I cannot imagine that in
the near future spectators are allowed to enter the stadium, it will definitely increase the number of people  who are positive for COVID19.
Because running health protocols cannot go well, if there is a crowd.
I believe its very necessary to manage and curtail the second wave of this pandemic hence fans shouldn't be rushed in, I prefers empty stadium for now until a vaccine is discovered and fans inoculated else the upsurge will continue and we have to consider its devastating effects on aged and people with underlying health challenges, for now fans should watch matches in their respective homes.

Matches being postponed due to Covid19 complications of athletes and staff status, that's serious. I wonder why the Club brugge and Lazio match in the Uefa Champions League wasn't postponed as nine of it's athletes were left out in training. Of course there are alternatives, a second eleven to feature. Anyway,
Spectators could still feature, at least Italian league is known to accept a few spectators in the stadium following Covid19 protocols. This could be done in the premier league as well. They just ensure to disinfect the environment, run checks on the people, ensuring they've got nose masks on and social distance their setting positions. It's a new normal and we've got to coup with it. It has already taken too long for a lasting solution. Adaptation seems to be our best chance to a normal life, at least for the moment.

LFC was talking about people being aloud back to watch games, perhaps in the new year.

Covid is starting to kick off again around here, things are shutting down again.

This doesn't bode well for a return in the new year.

I fear we might even see another season pause.

Crowds could really make the difference towards the end of the season. I seriously doubt our chances even though other sports have had some fans allowed in.

Yes, the pandemic is picking up pace every day, in Germany they just banned all fans from the stadiums again. Instead of making plans when and how fans can come back, we should better hope that another stopp isn't necessary. I already wrote it in the German Bundesliga thread: The way things are developing now, it looks more like we'll see another pause than (more) fans in the stadiums. Because once more and more players get tested positive, teams have to go into quarantine and matches might have to be cancelled.

I think they can definitely beat Newcastle but it’s a long, hard season. Everton’s first XI is good but beyond that they lack squad quality. We saw this against Southampton last weekend, Richarlison & Coleman were missing & they lost. I think they will finish outside of the top 4 if I am honest.

Totally agree on that^^ An injury or major blow to their crucial can turn their form totally upside down. Take City for example, right now they have so many players injured or while lets say when they didn't had Aguero and Jesus also got injured, also some defensive options were also not there they lost so many easy matches. They were struggling a lot to score with Sterling getting out of his usual position to fill in the CF position. It totally gives a blow to strategy and formation. In a short run Everton might be enjoying the run right now but you can't predict it would be same throughout the season and would get them the top 4 finish.

I think Everton will definitely be at the top 4 at the end of the season. Everton are doing good with Carlo Ancelotti. I think that even if they have difficulty, they will win the away match against Newcastle this week. Smiley

I think Everton will definitely be at the top 4 at the end of the season.

That's a bold prediction. It would mean finishing ahead of three of: Liverpool, Man City, Spurs, Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal.
Everton do look to be a good team this season, but top four is a real stretch, I don't think it's likely. They've made a good start, and have some good players... but I'm not convinced they have the strength in depth to maintain that position over the course of a whole season.

I’m sure I have seen Henderson play there for them once. It might not matter against West Ham but they are against Man City at Etihad stadium soon. They will need Matip of Fabinho to be there with Gomez for that one.

True. Henderson has featured in Liverpool's backline a couple of times if I remember correctly. He gets deployed there whenever we have a defensive crisis like the one we have at the moment. With Matip, VVD and Fabinho out, it leaves a void which Gomez can't fill alone. Aside from our defence, we still have midfield injury concerns so I'm not sure Hendo will be deployed in defense. Instead, we can hand either Williams or Billy a premier league start. Also, Matip will probably be around before our game against Man City.

Manchester United have started the Premier League very badly. But they are very good in Champions League. They won against PSG and Leipzig. I think they will start winning in the Premier League from now on too. In my opinion, Manchester United are the favorite team against Arsenal this week.

I think so too. Everton is playing very well. every player is trying to give their best afford to play well in their own place. I think all the players on their team are working hard to improve themselves. Their next match is against Newcastel. Hopefully they can win the match easily. But I am waiting to watch the match of Everton vs Man Utd. Hopefully we will enjoy an exciting match.

Newcastle could be one of the contenders too,,, they always know how to pull something out of the bag and remember, they have had a few good seasons too and with some new faces, you always cannot put them down. But yes, if Everton beat Newcastle and keep winning,,, then you never know how the table will look like. United is the real test (they almost passed Liverpool test too).

Smart is not enough, there must be skills
In other news, Liverpool center back Fabinho was injured at the Midtjylland match. Hopefully the injuries aren’t too bad because the last thing Liverpool needs is yet another midfielder unable to play. They’re already missing Joel Matip and Van Dijk, and Thiago (whose coming back soon), but losing the substitute for van Dijk in particular will lower Liverpool’s odds of winning EPL matches and the title.

I’m sure I have seen Henderson play there for them once. It might not matter against West Ham but they are against Man City at Etihad stadium soon. They will need Matip of Fabinho to be there with Gomez for that one.

Maybe against West Ham is not difficult but there are often surprises that Liverpool find it difficult to win, with many injured from this defense making the squad more vulnerable to attack especially with a core player who cannot be featured right now.
Could it be that injuries not as severe as Van Dijk for them will still recover? Next week it must be ready because mancity has welcomed it.
It will look difficult for Liverpool and winning the title will not be as easy as last season.
