What exactly is this table attempting to prove? That somehow Man City should be the table leaders despite being 14 points (and a game) behind? Tongue Roll Eyes That would seem to indicate that Man City are shit, as they're not performing as they should... and Liverpool are performing above expectations  Cheesy Grin

"Expected" goals don't win games... being ahead on the scoreboard at the end of the game does Wink

The table wants to show a mathematical value on the real game, or it tries to do so.
Basically for everything happens on the game, pass action, long pass, shot from x meters, etc.

It is a complex mathematical system where hypothetically you are not luck if your expectations points are the same as your real point.

If you are under then you are unlucky.
If you are above then you are lucky.

Keep in mind you must consider this number in an infinite number of games to remove the variance

The Premier League never fails to show us surprise results. This week Leicester one of the stronger teams lost at home against Southampton.Wolves draw at home against a weak Newcastle. The other games ended with the stronger teams winning.I am yet to see a week where all the strong teams will come out as winners in the Premier League. It has happened once but since then I have not seen it happening again.
I think Southampton has gained some confidence since the game against aston villa , they also beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge unexpectedly... beat Tottenham at home and gets 15 points from the 6 games with 5 win and 1 draw included a win against Leicester city earlier in the weekend, you shouldn't surprised at all.

Also for the Newcastle they are on the bad trends after nearly beat Manchester city back in late November... their performance is continue unstable even worse I guess.

It's a pity Leicester must accept defeat at home and accept bitterness with a score of 1-2, a strong team like this can be conquered by the low team so that it can be said to be a surprise because for me Leicester had the chance to win last night.
But what power does Leicester lose and his defense is weak so he is able to score again in the 80th minute, so Leicester can not reply to him.

At first I was also suspicious, strong teams like Leicester against weak teams only offer HDC -0.5 , usually HDC is always more than -1
And it's true the final result was shocking, Leicester were beaten at home  Cheesy

Aston villa 1 - 6 City

It seems that the Aston villa team were sleeping in the field, let's look at the chronology of goals.

First part of the game:

The first goal was 18 minutes into the first half (this is something that happens)

The second goal was 24 minutes (it was only 6 minutes after entering the first goal)

The third goal came in on 28 minutes (it was just 4 minutes after the second goal came in)

Where were the Aston Villa players?

that is true , nobody know what is the formula of beating the big teams but losing to the bottom tier clubs.

manchester united is full surpises. tottenham successfully prove that they actually could get 1 point at home from liverpool but yes a disadvantage of harry kane missing out is a big punch for mourinho, things could turnout in different way.

the next liverpool match against manchester united at 19th which they could bring the same surprise just like what they did.
everybody hope so  expect for liverpool fans.
and guess what? the latest comment on jurgen klopp from the sir alex ferguson mentioned that klopp is better than himself now, i am surprised to hear that.

All the teams are full of surprises this year. Liverpool making a record after already only losing 1 game last season is incredible,,, who would have predicted they would start as well as they end? And City losing already 5 games? Also a big surprise. Leicester going so strong? Surprise. No need to mention about my team, United, Arsenal, Chelsea, hehehe,,, biggest surprises.

Yes indeed this season's EPL has a lot of big surprises only Liverpool have a peak at the top and no one can match it, I didn't expect Leicester in this season to be a strong team even against a big team that could hit him.
In this season only Liverpoo, Manchester City and Leicester who are strong in this season won't even be displaced and I don't think Chelsea will be able to shift it.

Besides the absence of Harry Kane, Mou's strategy also shows that their game is well read by LFC players. Game statistics proved it.

But, don't forget the match will be held at Anfield Stadium, plus LFC is still in the best performance. Hope the match is balanced in ball possesion and also features fast-paced games

This proves that Sir Alex is a humble person, with many titles won with Man United Sir Alex one of the best and successful coaches in the EPL.
i can see that.
mourinho defensive minded game are well known by anybody around the globe lol.

still , even they play at anfield, i guess it could be even bigger suprise for everybody  Cheesy

besides the great performance by liverpool , they are very lucky to have no significant interrupting from players injury , even when they do have some players not available to play, klopp found a way to cover it and everything is just fine, this is what makes sir alex ferguson praises him.

Manchester City can up to ranking two after they were able to win a match victory against Aston Villa, Manchester City played so confidently and were able to make many goal in that match, but to be able to compete with liverpool is very difficult because Manchester City and liverpool have difference points far

This season belongs to Liverpool, so no one deserves to be their competitor, the spotlight is in the 2nd - 4th place because this place will be the target of other teams
Manchester City and Leicester get a safer place while Man United and Chelsea must continue to compete

At least Man U will play in the FA Cup competition before against Liverpool but I don't think that will be a problem because Ole will rotate players as much and as well as possible, although the results still don't look good if we look at the previous results, so 3pts for Liverpool is very likely to be obtained.
Why would he rotate them?  Grin
It isn't like Manchester United still have any hope of Lifting the EPL Trophy this season. Much more priorities should actually be on FA as they still have a chance to lift it.

Don't forget, only Manchester United take a point of Liverpool until now. To be honest, Liverpool had a lot of luck to stay unbeaten in this game.  Wink

Fantastic win for Manchester City against Aston Villa with final score 1:6
Yes, Manchester City has played very well in that match. They know that they must win every match in EPL to stay in second place and keep hope to catch up with Liverpool. If they lose one match, Leicester City will take over second place.

Look at the current EPL standings below, Man City competes with Leicester City for the second place.

My main focus will be on the competition for the last place on the Champions League. With the current standing, there are still some temas that has chance to finish on 4th at the end of the league. Chelsea, United, Sheffield, Wolves, Totenham and Arsenal will compete to each others for the 4th place. Chelsea may go for the 3rd as well if Leicester lose points on the remaining matches. It is tough enough for the Champions League spot this season.

From the 5th to the 8th will fight for 4th place in the EPL this season to enter the championship league, I myself want to expect Tottenham to be in 4th position at the end of this competition but the points are still far away and it's still fairly difficult to achieve that because rivals are so hard for her self.
Arsenal are too far to peak again in the game still like that I really do not like Arsenal in the current season.

Manchester City and Leicester competed firmly in the EPL to occupy second place in the standings, but if in the next week they experience another defeat then this will further away points and it will be difficult again to pursue it.

Last night's match Manchester City was very ambitious to win and was not half-hearted with a score of 6-1.

Fantastic win for Manchester City against Aston Villa with final score 1:6
and Watford (with Bitcoin sponsor) had major important away victory today.
I believed Man City is trying to prove a point here by whitewashing Aston vila 1-6 with Aguero banging an hatrick, probably they felt that the second place in EPL belongs to them after a series of dismal performances while capitalizing on leceister defeat to move above them although its very glaring they have an herculean task if they wanted to catch up with Liverpool.

~

Yes, they do.

I don't know if this just an NFL thing, but there's a saying; "defense wins championships."  LFC has scored a dozen fewer, but also allowed 11 fewer.  City can be hot and cold, winning matches by 5 goals like their last match or just playing insipidly like they did against Wolverhampton.  On the other hand LFC is playing a consistent and balanced game.  In the end if LFC had only scored 20 goals to date and allowed none, the results would be the same; wins and points wouldn't be any different.

And, really, who cares?  As long as City doesn't win the league I'll be happy.
