I remember when Man City lost to Newcastle at the end of January, Liverpool fans were bragging all over Twitter saying that they have the Premier League title won lol. Its amazing what a couple of games can do as now all the pressure is back on Liverpool to win, that is why I never get too excited as we never know what can happen in the final weeks of the season. Man City have come behind to win the title in the past and so have many other teams and lets not count out Tottenham either as they are right there if Man City and Liverpool drops a couple of matches.

I think there will be lots of surprise results before the end of the season. The lead will probably change hands every week. It will definitely be an exciting run in.

I never like the braggarts, so yeah that sort of turns me off about Liverpool when I see, but thankfully the forums here have the "good" type of fans, for all the teams, so I feel happy here. Twitter and FB are so poisonous.

But yes, so many surprises left, as we can all see from our weekly predictions gone wrong. Liverpool shouldn't feel worried, they just need to play football like they do, draws and losses are part of the game. Just enjoy it.

Spurs also, just play. Kane will come back soon with Dele so meanwhile just go and play football.

Yeah, whoever becomes the Champion out of City, L’pool & Spurs will have deserved it. Over 38 games you can’t really blame luck, bad decisions even themselves out over a long season.

I wouldn't ever believe when the season started that Liverpool with this squad will manage to hold the 1st position in the Premier League Championship for so long.
It is a great achievement for them. Even if they finish in the second place it is a great performance. The reason of saying that is that they lack in players coming from the bench compared to other teams.

All the stress is on Liverpool now, they have one game less than Manchester City but during that game it is impossible for them to play calmly, all the pressure will be on them as they need to win the game at all costs if they want to continue to fight for the title or if they don't things may go a bad route for them.

They don’t need to win the game in hand, do they? A draw would take them back to 1st place.
I wasn’t impressed by Man City last night, it’s just about winning though & they did.

This weekend the games are

Liverpool vs Bournemouth
Man City vs Chelsea

Yes, the draw will be enough for Liverpool to take over the first place again. But win will certainly be much better because an additional three points will certainly make the distance wider. They, Liverpool, should not be under great pressure because they are still very likely to retake the top spot.

Hopefully Higuain continues his great start for Chelsea by tearing Man City apart Smiley
I think it would be great for LFC to win the title after so many trophyless yesrs.

Oh man!
It was a good game last evening. Man City was lucky to score two goals in two extra time.

Even I bet ML for Man. City, seeing after this match against Everton and 3 days later Man. City will fight Chelsea. I'm sure this moment will be maximized by Man.City to get 3pts even though they play away.

The lineups are out, and I think Guardiola is preparing for the Chelsea match as well. He drops both Sterling and Kelvin De Bruyne to the substitutions list while Leroy Sane is back in the starting line up having missed out in the match against Arsenal, Aguero still to lead the line.. This should be a 2 - 0 win for  City, I guess.

You won brother. Lucky Man City.

I wonder if the luck favors them this way then Liverpool will have bad time. Man City was indeed lucky yesterday with those two goals. Time was with them.

I guess we have to wait until the 9th to see the changes in the point table top two.

LFC needs win man. No draw. They need to come out from the doubt that they can win matches.

"I wasn’t impressed by Man City last night, it’s just about winning though & they did."

Like I said they were lucky last evening.

Man City were able to secure  2 - 0 win against Everton and are now at the top of the EPL table with goal difference, although they've played a game more than their rivals.
Temporarily. Pool should have a comfortable win (at least on paper) against Bournemouth next saturday to go back to 1st place.

I feel like Liverpool just need to stop looking at the league table and just play every game like it's a final...They should just score a bunch of goals in the next game, like 4 or 5 goals, simply to boost morale and restore that confidence they had in the first half of the season.
Liverpool are in an unfavorable phase at the moment. They lost a lot of points in the last 5 matches, this is a bad condition because to become champions, a team at EPL must always play consistently and consider each match as a final match. Liverpool really have to go back to work, when they want to become EPL champions, they have to be able to do things far better and they have to spend all their abilities. EPL is a league that is so hard and competitive, only a strong team can become champions !!!

I see this as scattered as an Everton team does not have a system and they can not do something is not enough as far as substitutions did not exist. Already Manchester City plays castle stands as the only goal could come at any moment.

El Classico while actually been bad to be in this match. Manchester City favorite, though probably not as certain Everton have a good squad but could contribute also enter the reserve Cenk Tosun.

Exact lineup

Quote
A quickfire recovery from Everton is unlikely, with the Merseysiders having won just one of nine top-flight games this season against opposition that were higher than them in the table on the day of the match - losing the last five in a row.

City will look to maintain the pressure on Liverpool, as they moved to within just three points of the league leaders after a comfortable 3-1 victory over Arsenal in their last PL fixture.

Remarkably, City have scored within the first minute in their last two PL outings - the two quickest goals in the PL this season. Furthermore, they’ve scored the opening goal in 88% of their PL matches this campaign.

Everton forward Richarlison has scored two goals in his last three competitive outings.

Everton have scored in 92.31% of their home PL matches this season.

City have conceded 50% (ten) of their 20 goals this season from set pieces - the highest ratio in the PL.

I will go for a 1 - 3 for Man City

Have a little feeling Everton might win tonight, it’d be funny if they did after City become favourites for them to lose again. Go Blues Grin

Lol, I doubt Everton would even cause them much trouble, Man City knows for sure it is almost a win or burst situation, They'd play it with great intensity to sound the EPL title warning to other rivals.

Even though Man City will have a very busy schedule soon, I'm sure they've the right squad in-depth that could be rotated an still provide the needed results
