in 2017, considering all the competitions, Tottenham at home had lost only one time against Chelsea!
On 2-0 they certainly lowered the concentration level and have suffered this loud comeback!
Perhaps for Tottenham this elimination can be positive because they can focus on other competitions.

It’s a great game guys.

This one was quite surprising. Before the second half started, I was already pegging the Spurs to take the win. Then BAM! All of a sudden, the Hammers scored 3 goals starting with two Ayew goals within 5 minuutes then an Ogbonna goal.

Yeah, I think Chelsea will not play with the first team, but even with subs i believe they're gonna get the win. About Everton, getting knocked out of the League Cup is not what they need right now, it will be absolutely devastating to the team, but i don't think is going to be an easy game for Chelsea, they've been playing quite bad lately.
I wonder what should Everton do tonight?, one one hand they can play with the subs and let the 1st team players get some rest (phisically and mentally) so they can focus on the next EPL match (vs Leicester City). On the other hand they can also go for the win tonight knowing that beating Chelsea will give the team a big boost in the morale for next couple games.

I'm sure Chelsea will still win even they are not using their main player. Everton is really bad in this season, their defense is really weak. I think this match will have many goals happened, I guess over 3-4 goals for this match. I predict 3-1 or 2-1 or 4-1 win for Chelsea. Fyi, this is a cup match so i'm sure Chelsea will rest some of their main players.

I'm backing Everton to just about pip this one. There's a strong pattern for teams who've just lost their manager to punch a little bit above their weight in the immediate few games. With Chelsea's eye on Champions League to ensure they finish their group first, should mean that they play a lot of second string players like Man Utd, City and Arsenal all did.

None of us are dismissing the value of the league cup but you can't deny it's bottom of priorities for top teams right now.

A win for Everton is my pick, a slim 1-0. Rooney has a goal in him.

The so called pattern doesn't happen all the time, look at the case of Crystal Palace, after their manager was sacked they didn't immediately bounced back after Roy Hodgson was signed to replace the sacked Frank De Boer, they suffered more losses until they met Chelsea and miraculously gain their first three points of the season, they even lost their next game against Newcastle after that.

Even though the last match against Watford was so tough, but I am sure it's able to uplifting the team spirit. Chelsea is ready to beat Everton and come back to their good performances.

Just realised there wasn't a thread for the English league cup, or does someone know where to dig it up from? I know people think it's stale to watch second-string teams from EPL play, but I typically enjoy the encounters with former Premier League teams. Like tonight's Norwich, Leeds, Wolves. Fantastic Arsenal comeback just happened with super sub I never heard of getting a brace within 10 minutes of playing, whistle's about to go at 7 minutes injury time but I think Wenger and Co will see through the dying moments to progress.

Funny to see Man City manage a stumbling draw so far against Wolves! Big enough names in Aguero, Sterling, Jesus, Toure. Don't you find it always strange how English teams do well in Europe and then clutch at straws against weaker domestic opponents?

Everton may have rushed for Koeman sack this time i think if they didn't spent that much they wouldn't fired him that early maybe if they found the prper replacement for Lukaku they would have been in a different situation this time
