But the closer we come to the halving the more likely it is we will break through it due to bigger speculation.
I could imagine some of Eth investors will also change back to Bitcoin as they also believe a halving speculation race could happen and so they don't want to miss that train.
If this would be the case these guys would have had a damn lucky year.

The block halving will have a long term impact on the price as currently there is more supply than real demand. The block halving will take care of that so there will be an even balance between supply and demand.
When the block size increase issue is resolved, people will have more confidence in the bitcoin, so the price will rise.
