I have tried to warn stunna here
because i think that he's a decent guy that just wants to promote his business without causing to much trouble in the forum.

Unfortunately he didn't listen and now the only ones that keep carrying his signature are spammers with
2-digits activity and 4-digits post count  Embarrassed

The way I see the sig is a gentle encouragement for me to post.  It's been a really good motivator for me to actually participate in a forum instead of simply lurking.  So, I spread the gospel of SPEND YOUR BITCOINS, welcome newbies, answer questions, and start the occasional thread.  Most of the active posters I see with the PD sigs seem to be doing the same.

I agree. It only seems to be a few bad apples that spoil it. If people are found to be spamming or posting crap, just warn them and tell Stunna.

I'll look into offering a fixed amount perhaps going off activity for next term. Until then, if anyone is blatantly spamming with a PD signature send me a PM and I'll make sure to message them and revoke their payment.

The reason I liked the current system was because it gave newer users a chance to get some starting bitcoins, but clearly it is being abused and shouldn't remain. Please accept my apologies for your negative experience as a result of this.

Noted this on my thread here.
Sounds like a great idea. I've been looking high and low for systems paying for the posts (or activity) accumulated in total. You should set a minimum activity limit as well to combat alts signing up.

Not quite it just promotes the bitcointalk accounts for sale issue and have a bunch of stalking accounts that in theory grow slowly to pass these limits over time, but it does help reduce alts being used as any accounts found using them can be banned from using the program and reduces the spam.
So works for different reasons Smiley
Well, usually the price surpasses the amount to be made so it might not be very profitable.

I was thinking along the same lines with the current system as new users adopt bitcoin the forum is a good place to learn about it  while acting as incentive to participate so hopefully a realignment will help promote new users to bitcoin, without irritating oldies Smiley. Maybe even get a few new knowledgeable people and interesting topics in Development and Technical Discussion that don't lurk on github as users he-he.

And congrats to bitpop people do read posts in meta now and then, swear this area is ghostly Smiley

Wrong premises. Now being payed on per post basis (unlike previous tier based system which was like a sport to me), I write as many posts that I would do even without participating in the campaign. I keep my threads going (which I started) and primarily answer the questions either pertaining to the topic raised or when asked directly about something...

I wouldn't even bother to answer your post but for blatant wrongness of your assumptions and sweeping accusations thereof

Kudos.  Your intention behind the current system worked perfectly on me.  I was lurking the forums, saw the offer, and decided to register and get involved with this BTC community because of it.  Your offer was the deciding factor.  I totally understand that spammers are abusing the system, and it's too bad they have to ruin it for the newbies (like myself) who are just starting to get involved.

It's like adsense, no matter what, you will ALWAYS have cheaters because the motivation and the ease is so lop sided.

Yeah, I can't change anything until term ends (Jan 17th). But I'd definitely consider paying based off activity. People who cheat will move on to other campaigns though which won't really solve the issue. Until then as I mentioned, please PM me if you see anyone abusing this/spamming.

Bitpop
What campaign are your referring to as its not in the main thread for sig-ad campaigns
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/overview-of-signature-ad-campaigns-333916

I do agree that it does promote padding but really obvious spam and abuse of the system will likely just result in the campaign being closed to new participants then flushed clean, or a lot of hammer bashing over the holidays he-he.

Its not the first one?

PrimeDice (thread)
Payment period: Monthly, 17th of every month.
Minimum posts: 50 per claim.
Payments: 0.0002 BTC per post. Maximum of 0.4 BTC (2000 posts).
Miscellaneous: Only constructive posts count. Participants can claim payment once per month as long as at least 50 posts were made since the last claim or enrollment.

Woops I didn't define that clearly I meant this part from your post

Was wondering which campaign that was from Smiley

Oh none haha I sold it privately.

It just got annoying when the outsourced Indian folk starting posting stuff like "yes, good idea, I agree I will follow up to this idea"
senseless shit, its not even spam or trolling which is easily detected. it's senseless robot shit that wastes your time reading before you realize wtf
