I purchased a license for 1 card on Apr. 10 for the price of 35 XPM. I ran the miner with the recommended settings of 1150/1500 and Catalyst 13.9 on my Gigabyte OC R9 280X until Apr. 17. During that time I found 3 10-chains and 0 blocks. Difficulty was about 10.6 when I began.
How many 10-chains were expected during this period?
If your mining was running 7 days at the mentioned rate then the expected number of chains is about 10. If you got 3 then you were quite unlucky... not more than that, sorry.  Sad

Sometimes we had problems with reported blocks (stale or orphan) and such issue could be a reason for additional investigation because it can relate to some specific settings. But number of 10-chains below the reported CPD is out of the scope because reported CPD is calculated basing on the number of shorter chains and the ratio is standard (there is simple math there that has been verified on many GPUs). We even show a bit smaller value than real estimated CPD.

As for the price reduction - we did it when the difficulty reached 10.7.

To everybody who is waiting for a pool.

wasnt there suppouse to be a new version of PrimeGPU for pool mining?
We are working on a pool version.
Unfortunately pool connection is delayed because the first pool we started to cooperate stopped answering suddenly.
We continue with others but it takes time. Undecided

That is why new development was delayed as well.
In spite of these pool-related issues we are going to release a new version of our miner in 1-2 days.

i'm sure they have some plans for us on their schedule... i'm hoping for a pool for their licensed miners and may be those who purchased licenses might get the priority.. Also we badly need alternatives as ypool is gaining too much hashrate due to claymore's gpu... if you're in a rush you can probably ask for refunds... At the moment ypool sucks big time i think they are being ddosed by botnet operators almost on a daily basis and i'd ditch that pool as soon as there's an alternative...

but yeah claymore's gpu keeps improving with each release so in that area i'd ask primegpu to step up since they got the lead in solomining and have a chance to optimize further...

I just noticed that the cost of a license is now 25XPM. Is anybody going to be getting any refunds (like me for instance Grin. I bought a one card license only a few days ago, naturally I've found 0 blocks so far, but a lot of 10-chains, despite having an amazing card... my settings are okay, my machine is stable...)?

I don't think it's fair that the cost is not the same for everyone. And it's not fair that no one was informed that prices could go down, I know I would not mind waiting a couple of days to save 10XPM. I thought this miner would become free in 6 months, until then 35XPM a pop. Looks like all those who haven't broken even yet by making a purchase are going to get screwed not only by the rising difficulty, but by the fact that Claymore's miner will soon be faster than primeGPU's, so only two things can be done to make primeGPU's miner competitive...  increasing miner performance or lowering license fees. Looks like it's going to be the latter... Undecided

They only have one server and just in a month or so barely got ddos protection, but doesn't seem to work. Ypool does have too much of the net hashrate, I'd rather see that beeeeer get more to help balance the network.

I would like to relate my experience using PrimeGPU. The "time" value was around 200-210 and CPD around 1.35. I've since switched to Claymore's miner and have found 3 blocks in 2 days, which on the pool and with developer fee translates into about 8 XPM so far. Maybe I was just very unlucky with PrimeGPU and lucky with Claymore or maybe 1 card rigs just aren't enough for solo, I don't know for sure. But I do know seeing the license price drop a week after I bought one only adds insult to injury for me. I am definitely regretting buying this. If anyone has any suggestions to improve performance, I'd appreciate them.

Mine on and off till you find the blocks to get ROI...you'll need a lot patience for solo mining on one card.
Even with two I need to wait a few days to get a block now but the reduced power consumption and the lack of pool fees is good.

not to sound as a jerk, but for a licensed software, I didn't see any update for a very long long time

Claymore had the time to put at least 3 update in the time... and other open source (non xpm one which allows to run on many algos) softwares
have mostly constant update.

Funny that people working for free do more work than those who are paid for...

this is not profitable anymore, im switching to www.manicminer.in pool

PrimeGPU miner

4 x R9 280x =  0.02218038 BTC/Day (1.50 CPD average)

Manicminer.in

4 x R9 280x = 0.027 BTC/Day (750 KH/s x 4 = 3 MH/s average)

Not a clever idea to keep mining this coin and paying for a miner software also

Any news on the pool? Haven't found a block in 5 days (using 1 card) doing 1.45 c/d.

is this performance ok?

25 hours of mining = 6x 10-ch + 1x block found....

4x R9 280x (4.10 CPD)

If you go buy a pair of boots at the store then come back a week later and notice they are on sale for 20% off the store isn't going to give you a refund.

it happens all the time. No need to bitch about it.

Great comparison, genius. Is that the best you can do?

This miner is still really capable, just gotta be patient and it'll pay for itself.

Block time is something like 1 every 2 days now.

Or maybe less, it's still good.

Block time is one in 3+ days but that is good, see what it will be next month. Oh and block reward is shrinking too... Grin

you need to find a sweet spot when setting gpu speed and memory... i had a similar issue which was due to overclocking high and undervolting too low... try to increase voltage and monitor...

Anyone else having the problem of the having the primecoin-GPU miner lock up always, after running an hour or two, or maybe even four?

Mine starts out counting passes pretty well but then just seems to freeze.

Didn't have this problem with Scrypt mining although I did run cgwatcher and the driver would occasionally crash, and cgwatcher would restart sgminer, so I wonder if it's related.
