I don't see why you wouldn't want bots. You want whatever action you can get. There's a 1% (ish) house edge whether the bets are placed by a bot or a human.


The problem is that if you get 10 withdrawal requests at once and you don't have any confirmed coins, you may have to wait for 10 or more blocks before being able to process the 10th withdrawal. The trick is to make sure you always have enough confirmed coins to handle any reasonable withdrawal request, but that's easier said than done.

I deposited 32 BTC yesterday with a view to winning something in the 1 billion bet promo. I was a couple of hours early, and ended up making a bunch of bets to kill time while I was waiting. I withdrew 43.7 BTC after the billionth bet, and the transaction was made immediately. I'd say the site is probably the best place for large Bitcoin bets at the moment.

Here is a suggestion for an ongoing competition (inspired by the billionth-bet competition):

Every bet whose ID is a multiple of 1,000,000 wins a bonus equal to the amount bet (maybe up to some maximum, or something like that).

I would expect that the amount given away should be negligible for the site: it already gives away 8 times the amount bet every 10,000 bets roughly, with the jackpot feature.
However, unlike jackpot, this would require some skill.
