If the person responsible for this sees this, you should take this opportunity to understand this will not be profitable for you, apologize and return the domain before we escalate this matter.
I think the big issue is that client browsers like Chrome and Firefox need to alert the user whenever the SSL has been modified or if it's missing all of a sudden.
Most just show an red unlocked lock near the address bar but it's very difficult to notice this sometimes and can trick many people.
