20 billion bets, I remember celebrating 1 million!

next is 30 billion bets!

So we have to wait a while before next contest Cheesy

I am pretty sure they will be a contest for the 25th billionth bet.

Its very difficult to get a timeline on these "billonth" rolls and such. The bitcoin ecosystem is exponetially increasing that the rolls/per/day is constantley changing.

Physical casinos might not realize this but they are starting to lose "ALOT" of profit probably due to online bitcoin gambling.

OK I can wait 5 billion more bets.

Guess you are right about online casino vs physical casino's. Have you found any numbers about this online?

I don't have any statistics but I am pretty sure the "technical" gamblers who rely on low casino edge, will just gamble with dice instead of going to the casino and playing Roulette.

However most gamblers are recreational gamblers who basically go to Las Vegas and gamble for entertainment and plan on actually losing. Those people Bitcoin won't affect.

Technically Blackjack can offer a lot lower house edge. I believe the reason people choose dicing is simply because of the speed of bets and the ability to change odds at ease.

If you think about it, dicing is the essence of all gambling. It takes out the cards, the roulette board etc. and breaks it down into dead numbers only.

How can blackjack have a lot of lower house edge? I do not see that any blackjack games can be compares to dice games since dice can offer 1% of house edge or even lower one but if it compare to slot games maybe blackjack have better but the payout, slot is better nore over if they have some jackpot on it. I believe this is why they opened Stake, to give us more variances on gambling in one site

The edge for blackjack is always higher than dice. Dice is usually the smallest.

Same with roulette, higher house edge but pretty much the exact same game.

I don't understand why you would play blackjack online, unless maybe on your iPhone out of boredom. Games like that are best played with other players in real-life rather than online.

I guess you're new to the gambling world? If played perfectly, blackjack has one of the lowest house edges of all casino games. On this website you can calculate the house edge of a specific website: https://wizardofodds.com/games/blackjack/calculator/. As you can see, even with very bad settings (for the player), the house edge is still under 1%. Only a blackjack payout of 6:5 causes the house edge to go higher then 1%.

Blackjack can offer lower house edge on certain deck amounts and rules, yes
the house advantage could be as low as 0.43% if this site is correct:  https://wizardofodds.com/games/blackjack/calculator/
dice became so popular because of Satoshidice, historically it was the first and long time the only solid gambling site for bitcoins
I remember huge wins of 400+ bitcoins, sad to see it go
so,dice game is simple, easy to code and the most common game for bitcoins-both gamblers and the site owners love it Smiley
attempts to create some sort of a trademark game as popular as dice (bustabit, plinko, all sort of new games with not so simple rules) usually fail or lack audience
I can give an example: bitvest.io had all kind of games:plinko, bitspin, slots, roulette, but once they introduced dice
this game topped all the others combined in terms of total wagered in under 2 months
Stake offers many different games including a slightly higher house edge dice,so they covered all the bases

Blackjack is very different online as compared to a physical casino. And one of the reasons is that after each hand, the deck is refreshed.

When you are gambling in an physical casino and you got a good memory, you can do card counting to reduce your odds of going bust.

It would seem that you could easily do card counting online since you are at home and nobody is looking however thats why all the hands are resuffled to prevent that from happening.

Yes pretty much.

Hence I don't understand why people play Slots instead of Dice when its online anyways and the only difference is that its got a higher house edge.

Playing in a physical casino is different because you got an entertaining atmosphere with a band and drinks. But in a virtual online world it should make no difference.

To be fair, this is probably why PD made Stake. They wanted something that was more like a casino with casino games and bright colors and stuff like that to draw more casual players.

he is one lucky mofo then, one roll and a prize of 0.03 but his bet was only 1.000 satoshis
not sure if it qualifies for the prize  b:20,000,000
historic moment,haha:
and yeah it has been announced too late, unfortunately and I missed it as well
grats to the winner and hope to see more promotions at Primedice and Stake
Sure he is a lucky chap, just wagging one satoshi and winning 0.03 btc is pretty impressive  Cheesy they have to give them the reward no matter what as these sort of small rollers made these milestones possible  Wink. I did not knew that they are still giving away freebies, will catch them soon.

He is indeed qualified for the prize as the requirement is 1000 satoshi minimum bet as you can see the full terms about the contest here:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2331856.0

There was giveaway when 15th billionth bet was made, but no competition. so there might be a competition for 25 billion bet. i think the prize is fair, how much do you think they should've given?

Ups sorry, seems that I missed that 15th billionth promo or maybe I forget it. About the prize, I think it could be around 0.1-0.5btc split to some winners. The more winners the more chance to win something fo such a great billionth milestone.

How can you be so sure there will be contest for 25th billionth bet? Do you have any personal communication with PD about the next contest?
Afaik there was no contests for 15th, so I dont think there will be one for 25th but I hope I'm wrong. I wonder why the prize for the latest contest was small considering PD is the biggest and oldest dice site. I think they can give bigger amount for more winners.

I hate competition like that, I hope they will do a contest or a giveaway that all people can join.

I know that Edward hates comparisons with Bitsler
but their giveaways are well thought and designed to cover many players instead of just one lucky dude
probably this is the case where Primedice could take a page or two out of their book
besides its a very clever marketing, for a price of 0.05 or so you get a separate visited and updated topic that stays up as long as people are posting usernames there
so it serves a purpose of attracting new players as well as making the existing ones happier
