This is an awesome but scary thread.  So basically all of our personal information is available online!
I am going to have to look through my social media, though I don't plan to scam anyone either Smiley

Wow, this guy is seriously sharing too much personal information on the web...OP hope you'll get money back.
You'd be amazed how many people leave so much info about themselves. People are completely careless since the rise of social media.

Yes, but no one leaves such informations to steal money.

Says enough about how dumb he is.

Again... I'm really hoping that he is not using some poor soul's name and passport photo.  Again, doubt it because he is cheering himself on his new alienware and stuff, but still, a smart thief, when asked for his passport picture, will usually find many such pictures on a quick google search...

There are too many things that are linked to eachother. On his ICQ page is also a picture of him, his Skype dat of birth matches and plenty of other details that are easily overlooked. This guy has scammed people on a WoW forum 2 years ago and probably thought he could get away with it again.

On his facebook page also. If he send me my asics I'll delete all my messages. If not, i'll gonna get my money back.

I'm definitely following this thread.  This is going to be so much fun.  Yea, best of luck catching him.  He's lucky he ran into you, a nice guy who calls the police.  If he ended up scamming somebody with a different "idea" of justice... oh boy.  Because he DEFINITELY is not very careful about his personal information.

Just a thought:  What if every time he scams, he uses this name and passport picture (one he might have found somewhere online), and this is all leading to some random dude who has no idea what's going on?  I know it's unlikely since he's bragging of getting a recent new computer... but still.

Someone who live in Athens could call the Police to get this scammer and at least give us our money back!

Just got contacted by 2 other people he scammed.

All information will go to the Greek police and we'll take it from there. I'll include the address location and point where we got it from so the police knows it's not the exact address but it's the area.

Keep the information coming guys!

It's still not accurate enough even if that was from his house.

How is it not accurate? I posted the address with it (edited in the post). If you contact the authorities, give his name and location they will find him for sure.
I didn't set the marker in Bing Maps. Facebook linked it there. If he used WiFi to post it, it'll certainly be his address.
It points to the middle of a street. He could be up to (i'm just putting random numbers here) 500m, 1000m or more away. Unless the police does something, this area isn't that much helpful. One would have to cover many houses and buildings and thousands of people.

You do know the police can search in their system at what address someone is registered right? If you give them an approximate location, they can verify if you're talking about the same person.
