A lot of projects are scamming Bounty Hunters and taking Bounty hunters for a ride. What can we do to stop this?

This is a never ending battle for bounty hunters. And it will not stop because people are so gullible to join or even invest on those projects. The only weapon we can used it common sense, if the project is so good to be true or offering huge amount of tokens in the first place then think again. Maybe they just wanted to tempt you by offering attractive rewards in the beginning, so just be careful, research first so that you won't waste your precious time.

Unfortunately, bounty participants can't stop these scam projects but rather we can avoid it thus our effort won't be wasted for nothing. Scam projects are not new in crypto, it exsisted even before the boom of ICO way back in 2017. It's not a new problem that we can not experience if we'll choose wisely.

That is the consequences of making a spam in the forum. Bounty projects that are scams are spreading like a virus in here so does the spammers also. Getting rid of scam project is the hunter's responsibility you need to do a research and read the white paper and the people behind the project. That is a simple task to follow.

if you have a site or blog that is popular with crypto, You can tell people about the scam project on your site, or you can report a scam project on a site that talks about scams, I think if people want to join the project, that person will find out about the project, if on the internet a lot of negative reviews about the project, surely people will hesitate to join.

We can't stop scammers to scam, it's their choice not ours. What bounty hunters can do is to avoid those scam projects.

Not all can be avoided of course, but doing research would help a lot to avoid many, especially now that there are members here in the forum who exposed scam/fraud projects as much as they can.

Bounty hunters should pay attention to bounty terms as well. Afaik there are bounty campaigns which states that there will be no payment if the ICO fails (correct me if I'm wrong). If the hunters accept the terms and still join despite that, then they should not complain at the end if their hardwork weren't paid.

This is a free market meaning there isn't anything anyone can do about the ongoing situation of hunters getting aduse as slaves. The only way to avoid been scammed is to stop patronizing bounty campaign, the previous trick of joining a campaign because of the reputation of the managers, aren't even save this days as there isn't any guarantee of getting paid. Sure the manager might not have the intention of scamming the hunters but since they don't have a say on the project filling their promise of token distribution you can't blame them most times as all they do is just management of the participants.

To also minimize the risk of getting scammed you can build up your account to be eligible to participant in bitcoin signature paying weekly campaigns especially those managed by well know manager as funds for the campaign are usually had by the managers.

As far as i can tell many bounty hunters are still promoting projects without better research, they open new projects websites and belief everything they find on them especially if the websites have cool designs

There's basically nothing you could do because they can create a lot of projects, continuously, and possibly scam some bounty hunters. It's their strategy, and there's just nothing you could do. The only choice that you have is to ignore it and don't do any bounty for them, that's just it. I'm not sure if there are good bounties left, but I know what you could do to have the right actions.
  • Investigate if the Bounty Manager is a trusted member of the forum
  • Check the background of the project that started the bounty
  • Legitimate check the people involved in the project

The most important thing, if I were to join bounties, is the manager. Once he is trusted, I know that he would be able to deliver.

Perform a standard procedure and often done is to check who is the team behind the project and don't be lazy to read the white paper. do not believe in excessive and unreasonable commissions, because it is very certain that there is no commendable action behind them. if you find a project like that do not hesitate to report and inform, so that not many are trapped.

I believe that you can still spot bad or scam projects using research and at the same time some projects are well crafted that you will never know they are scam until they proven to be, presently do rely on your research only and i bet in near future something will come up

If there are joiners, they will never stop. They'll get free advertisement from you guys so if you can't find a reliable bounty, don't join random bounties.

Before joining the bounty campaign, we must first look at the whole, starting from the team, the attractive white paper, the project design going forward, their products and cooperation, so we must know in advance so that the bounty that we promote is not in vain.
If the project only relies on the bounty for marketing or promotion then leave it because it doesn't or report on the "Scam Accusations" board
