Press could contain all articles and they could be moved to "Press Archive" after a while. Grouping re-runs of identical articles could be managed easier, too. Yeah.. the articles I've posted re the 'FBI-thing'  are distinct articles that just happen to be on the same topic. Where they are merely 're-runs'/syndicated copies - I've not created separate threads.
(e.g gizmodo/gawker  & wired/arstechnica)

I think it's generally appropriate to have a new thread for each distinct piece. It helps give an indication of how 'hot' the topic is, and allows commentary on the particular slant of a site/journalist.

You're right..  it is tricky to group identical articles under the current system because you can only edit your own posts.
