How exactly do you propose protecting him?
After all it's his decision to claim he is Satoshi, he wasn't forced to it.

Well, if we can raise enough to have a team and protect him, that would be good.
A solid statement by the community members as well.

So, moving the very first coins that were created wont cause suspicions?

Especially now?

Why would we have to raise funds for someone that over $400 million in Bitcoins?

He can afford a tank, chopper, and a small militia for that amount.

No, he can't because if he uses even one of those BTC (if it is really him) then he will make things clear that he is Satoshi.

But if he is Satoshi, which looks very possible, he can figure out a way to do it anonymously(he is Satoshi for God's sake) without bringing attention to himself.

The guy (if it's him) created the dang protocol and is a cryptographic genius, but can't send a payment without detection???

Believe me, if it were him, he'd figure it out.

I propose we start raising funds in order to protect him.

Let me guess...we just need to send our bitcoins to an address you control personally.  Sounds legit.

Read my posts....

Thanks for stopping by.

Do you have anything meaningful to offer?
If not, go away.

satoshi is not at a security risk.

calm down everyone

the creator of bitcoin is not the Californian in the report. so get that fud out your head
secondly the bitcoin creator wont be kidnapped or water-boarded by governments if ever found
thirdly, every few months another person new to bitcoin suddenly thinks they know it all and have the solution. much like going to KFC for the first time and thinking you have out out the other millions of people before you, have found the colonels secret recipe.

calm down everyone

the world will keep spinning
the sun will rise again tomorrow
governments will continue to tax you
nothing has changed.

even if they find the true satoshi, bitcoin cannot be shut down and the control of bitcoin is not in satoshi's hands to do anything with. so please will people stop panicking and making 2 dozen topic posts just today about the boring and endless 'who is satoshi'

You don't get my point.....

If we don't respond NOW, then we have no say when it comes to Bitcoin.

THE GUY IS INNOCENT.
That's why he needs protection.

EDIT: Besides, what is it going to cost you? 0.01BTC?
Is that not worth saying that Bitcoin is here to stay?

Whether he is the real deal or not, it is our duty to protect the man who is in a VERY difficult position right now.

I propose we start raising funds in order to protect him.

I do not have much but I am more than willing to give some of the little I have to protect Satoshi and Bitcoin.

Anyone else with me?

This will definitely give some food for thoughts for the ones who are trying to crush Bitcoin.
