Protest no go save us from bad government but e go start a movement wey if we continue, we fit end the bad governance for the country. If the protest dey successful, e go create awareness for the problems dem wey dey the country to foreigners and people for the country and if nobody sells out, we fit organized ourselves for the next election and vote in people wey we want and stand to support our votes to make sure it counts. Protest is a step in the right direction because of we no do anything, nobody go come save us.

Protest is a fundamental human rights. It is a tool to bring government to accountability. No matter what the government are doing to intimate us we won't back down. It better to protest than fold our hands and do nothing, with the protest the government of the day will understand that the citizens are not happy with their policies that are not yielding any positive results.

Protest has help other countries to have a more responsible government, if na better country wey we dey, the president supposed step down when the heat of the protest gets to him. The protest never heat up well but sha make we dey watch. Tinubu was the leader of the protest against former president Goodluck Jonathan when things weren't going well so him no fit stop this protest wey dun start so. Make him take this one as warning because Nigerians wey dey today no be the Nigerians of the old. People eyes dun dey open and small small we go take our country back from this thiefs.

When I go online and see people talking about protesting against bad governance and hardship, it makes me wonder if those people are actually from Nigeria, maybe they got their motivations from the ongoing protest in Kenya but they fail to realize that this is Nigeria where the government is two steps ahead of it's citizens and would do anything to crumble plots of kicking against their governance.

It's so shameful that Nigeria has turned into a lawless country, whereby the law only favours certain caliber of people, they disobey the law, take away citizens right and go scot-free without giving account of their actions, take for example what happened in the past major protest which was the ENDSARS protest where innocent citizens carrying out peaceful protest where killed by some military personnels or is the previous election‽

Even if we embark on another protest by emulating what Kenya is doing, there would be some saboteurs that would go behind to take bribe and ruin the whole process or the government would come up with anti protesters to cause a clash and then they'll declare state of emergency just to ruin the process, that's why I earlier stated that the government is two steps ahead of it's citizen, it's obvious we need a messiah but who would be that messiah? What i think is good for this country is the military regime cause democracy currently is a scam in Nigeria. Well, do you think embarking on a protest would stop bad governance in Nigeria?

Protest is a fundamental human rights. It is a tool to bring government to accountability. No matter what the government are doing to intimate us we won't back down. It better to protest than fold our hands and do nothing, with the protest the government of the day will understand that the citizens are not happy with their policies that are not yielding any positive results. Maybe they will sit up knowing fully well that they are sitting on gun powders. I will not be among those that will keep quiet and watch things continue to go wrong while I can protest. Even if it doesn't yield positive result this first time, we will continue to protest until our voices are heard.
Military won't just takeover government like that until there is a trigger. And don't you think that this protest could be one of the triggers that could usher in the new era of military government we are clamouring for?

OP make I use your topic take talk something for this protest of a thing say protest fit save Naija from bad governance, me I get that strong believe say if this matter happen for government to reduce fuel price say this protest go be one of the best protest so far I no go lie you. Imagine say price of fuel drop to #200 tell me if things go dy as high as e dy now starting with transportation moni and other things? Me I see say small hope dey and if by the grace of God that small luck we dey find them unlucky am things go come back to normal. As I see that news this morning I just reason am say make I drop am here make una see am in a position way if hope no dey.
I like your believe and honestly I dey seriously hope say the protest fit help reduce hunger and starvation atleast if not the bad government entirely but @Jessie2121 abeg make I ask you one simple question, who be your president? Bola Ahmed Tinibu, right?. I for like make you go do research about the name I just mentioned. Well, make I give you clue, before the previous president step out, the current president na man wey done dey anticipate to rule Nigeria, em love power, and em use em wealth to buy power, claiming say na em turn (Emi lo kon) for Yoruba language.

This na man wey sabi use power, even for the previous government when em no be president, em exhibit the power for lekki toll gate during the ENDSARS protest, so I no think say this current protest go move that kind person, i hope say you know say them pay anti-protesters to protest against this current protest even before eh start, that na the height of how foolish most citizens dey and this government dey aware so they'll use them to fight against those opposing their government.

Currently the police and dss wey suppose dey protect protesters wey dey fight for their right too, dey shoot innocent civilians for different locations knowing fully well say retaliation go dey and na wetin the government want, so dey go deploy military with claims say the protest go violent of which the army general done already talk say dem go act if eh go violent. However as for the fuel price going down to #200 lol not in Tinibu's regime, that man come to leach Nigeria and add to his wealth.

I don't think this protest of a thing that we are doing go end bad government in this country, I also wonder if those people wey been dey protest since yesterday no dey in this country with us because how many protest we don do for this country and the government no even care about its citizens, people die anyhow because dem dey fight for economy wey go better and our government go pretend say as if all these things no happened for this country, so waiting go be the reason wey we go think say the only way to stop bad government na to protest? Na naija we dey, make we no copy another country say we fit get better nation because na stubborn leaders we get, even though thousand people die dem no send, they will continue to dey rule the way dey like.

We too dey risk our life for this country I swear, see as small small boys take gather mind they face police officers, Sad na people wey die family I dey pity pass because as dey lose person no mean say this country go better, to be honest we have to look for other way to fight against bad government because na person wey chop very well dey get strength to protest.
yeah na truth you talk o this protest no go fit end bad government for Nigeria but the main aim of this protest na to pressure FG to remove fuel subsidy so that the  price of food commodity go come down, make hunger no come kill people finnish. If you enta street, you go understand say our youth dey hungry and if govt no take this protest serious,e go fit turn to something else because those armed policemen and soldiers wet our werey leaders dey take get hope go leave them run wen de real problem go start.

Protest doesn't seem like the best of option to resolve the failing economy but what else could be the solution aside what the youths are doing. From what I have seen as a Nigerian all these years is that the government are no longing for any peaceful settlement and has pushed the people to an extreme where violence remains the suitable option. Looking from what Kenyans are doing, I feel like that is just 20% or less of what Nigerians have installed on this protest, it looks kind of dramatic but it's just the starting and in a way I do not blame them because of how much we've held the suffering. Normally as we dey talk am, "dem cup don full" and if they decide to shed blood of the people then it is just putting in more wood to the fire because these people are ready to die already (from the video they were facing those officers, imagine if he opened fire).

The government should do something, now it is early than when a lot of disasters is already happened, not even the government are saved this time. It's supposed to be a peaceful protest but as we know not everyone can be that peaceful, as be say water don pass garri and e no funny to see the economy this bad and keep quiet.

People dey talk about this protest and them say nah peaceful protest, I wan ask una, for this contri e get anything wey be Peaceful protest again? As people dey vex like this them go fit apply peace again? This one wey I hear how some people dey talk of warning wey them dey give out say make anybody no try open shop oh if not this go happen that go happen and from all indication people go fear to even come out to sell and we also know say no be everybody go join the protest, some fit dey sell still dey give the protesters some of their goods like water and drink to take help themselves depending of wetin you dey sell, all follow for the support and e no mean say you must follow dey waka with the other people.
My own be say make people wey dey go out use their head because we only get ourselves to fight for make we no use anger begin spoil properties wey people don manage get to help their life, I mean the poor people.
Initially the protest supposed to be peaceful one but from the past experience, eh get this strategy wey the government dey always come up with to make the effort of peaceful protesters to be waste, them go forcefully change the whole narrative from the Initially planned protest to violent one wey go lead to riot. Wetin I dey try tell you na be say thugs go hijack this protest, and eh fit turn to ENDSARS 2.0 cause of looting and damaging of properties  wey innocent citizens own.

Na so them use operated during the ENDSARS protest and I suspect say this government go deploy same technique if all efforts to stop the supposed protest tomorrow fails, I pity people wey go get mind come out for business tomorrow, I know say majority wey wise no go one risk am but definitely some people go still fall victim to the looting by those thugs but my fear na say make them no turn the whole thing to protesters and antiprotesters riot cause many innocent people go dey victimised.

Normally once those government thugs start, the protesters go wan retaliate and I no go suprise if people secretly go on this protest with arms, cause some people done use the lekki toll gate incident wise up, and if they up the military or police open fire at protesters they go retaliate back, anyways we pray for a successful and peaceful protest tomorrow however, make everyone dey careful.

Nai wetin I dey talk about people wey suppose come out to sell like nothing serious dey happen, if sellers come out to do dia normal business e no still mean say them no get the movement at heart, like I talk some go even dey share their goods as a way to support. Then back to the thugs, who be all these thugs? No be the same normal human beings wey still dey surfer this same wahala wey the government dem put us so? If them come against the protesters then my sista/broda the fight against the government don turn to fight against us like we are fighting ourselves. If you wan win you no suppose fight yourself na to go all out against the target not yourself and from wetin you talk I think say people don ready either way dey wait if government use violence them go join the music and from then I no sure say na protest or peaceful protest again, make we continue to pray as the movement start today. Peace and love to Nigeria.

Di worsening economic hardship wey de for our country na very serious concern to every well-meaning Nigerians. Dis na the highest height of bad governance, naira value don depreciate so bad wey be say plenty money wey you hold na only small thing e go fit to purchase, di next day na fewer things e go purchase. No good roads, no light, no job , no food, no money, insecurity, no be say we no get di resources to make Nigeria, a great country but di corruption wey de for government no go let di wicked politicians to give us good governance.

Abeg I no support millitery to take over power, our top millitery officers dem de as corrupt as civilian politicians. During di whole millitery regimes for di country, na which one of dem make di country to de better, na only to loot di government treasury be dem specializations.

This hunger protest was instigated by the event that happened in Kenya where demonstrations were leveled against the government which bent the government to reverse some of its policies that affected the economic situation and lives of the citizens. Although the hunger protest was something a lot for people regarded as an action long overdue due to the frustration over the rise in food prices, the deafening government programs towards salvaging the economic problems as well as the topical economic crisis.

Plenty Nigerians are crying for their well-being while the rise in dollar rates and fuel pump prices have continued to loom the country's economy causing an uncontrollably increase the inflation of the commodity market whereas the salary of workers remain little and the minimum wage was battled. I think since the announcement of the fuel subsidy removal nothing have been in shape rather things get worsen by the day. One thing have also gaslighted the hunger protest and that's the lavish lifestyle of political leaders and the nonchalant statements of top political leaders such as the senate president of the country.

E dey pain me say we need go to the extent of protests to achieve our aim unto say nah we put those leaders for seat. We get able bodied people wey fit turn the country around and push am to a beta place but these corrupt leaders no go gree. I dey read for news how women dey make protests against this upcoming protests in a bid to stop am and one go feel say them dey concerned about the fact say nah their children fit lose their lives in the process but deep down, them no just want make the thing get head.
Op believe say protests no go save Nigeria from bad leaders and them just won dey realistic but the truth be say, if you continue to press, eventually them go dey weakend and get no other option but to listen to the demands of their citizens.

The OP is exactly what a pro-government crony would say to prevent a revolution. Roll Eyes

The whole world knows of Nigeria's gov corruption and unfair policies, that hand wealth to a select few while putting everyone else in an ever increasing disadvantageous position. Wealth inequality in Nigeria is absolutely crazy.

Quote
the wealthiest individual in Nigeria can earn 8,000 times more in one day than what the poorest 10% of Nigerians typically spend on their basic consumption in an entire year
https://www.dejusticia.org/en/health-inequalities-in-nigeria/

If people protest in Nigeria, they're completely 100% in the right to ask for change. Of course though, every time people protest, very often they're met with violence from the ruling class no matter how peaceful their protest might be. Revolutions turn violent only because the ruling class initiates the violence through various means.

As them say when Democracy fail it results to violence, there is nothing wrong with protest is part of democracy but our leaders don't see it that way. They will always see protest as a threat to their government no minding the demands of the protest,  its really unfortunate for our dear nation. The Endsar protest I didn't join because it was faceless,  there was no leadership and it was violence that's why its failed. But this year own is different there is leadership and it won't be violence as Endsar, I know some youths body are already kicking against the protest,  its normal everywhere not everyone will join to change status quo of the nation,  The NANs has declined from the protest, they were bribed but that won't stop all from exercising their right to protest. In cause of the protest let's not destroy our properties,  its ours properties anything that is built by government is for our common use, so we shouldn't burn it down because of protest, that's my single advice,  OP believe it or not this protest will be successful,  the president has already addresses some of the demands but its not enough.

In every democratic government, protest is necessary because that's the only way government can recognize the grievance of it's citizens but it's so bad that protests that ought to be a peaceful one in most cases are being hijacked by hoodlums to destroy properties and other government facilities because in the past I have witnessed protests turn into violent one and causing human disturbances hence the reason why security operatives invade in some circumstances.

However, no matter the state of the nation, thinking about going back to military regime will be the worst because humans deserves freedom of speech so if military hijacks the government today it will be difficult for citizens to air their opinions and grievance towards the government because everything will be done authoritatively without caring about the opinion of other arms of government. We shouldn't think about using force to get what is right in this country, all we should think is for incorruptible leaders who will have the interest of the masses at heart.
The only reason I believe protest will not help matters neither the violence is because our leaders can go extreme miles to do anything more especially when it has to do with power like killing young youths. Power is so dangerous and it seems not every leader can rule rightly, you see this thing called government and politics including the high paying jobs in Nigeria especially the oil and gas sector are just full of shit and bias. Nigeria has a long way to go but if considering protest as a solution sounds right because when all this get to the media world wide others will also have to judge concerning the government but, our leaders don’t give a fuck rather their thought is just to take anyone down who try to rubbish their government. Sometimes all this protest is just a cover up and if you look deeply it’s still related with politics and beef, they can’t come openly so it’s best they use cultist, innocent youths to fight, If no be only wetin happen for endsars youth dey fear I genuinely support this protest but let’s hope for something different.

My broda the movement go well but I think say people still get that fear of the past one for body, people die for the #EndSars own but the way I see am na still we cause am, as long as we no dey united the waka no go smooth at all, becos like I talk before say nah we dey take our hand spoil the good things wey this movement go bring, I dey refer to the police army and even street thugs wey them give #500 to take cause wahala for protest ground, me I no fit see sense for where these guys dey to spoil wetin people dey fight for wey them go even benefit from oh but them choose not to care. People wey die last time will always be remembered but make the leaders of this protest use last one take learn lesson on how to make this one dey a bit more secured so that people mind go strong.

Truely I dey full support of this protest because say things bad well well for Nigeria wey make us not to have choice again, brother I like the wey you take am because say na the fact you talk assume say our minds go they the same thing will go well for this protest but I say e go dey hard, this one dey different from #EndSars because many people no go with #EndSars but for this one na almost 98% the feel this one, the remaining 2% are only the leaders and the politician, my own be say make the thing go smooth and make we get wetin we dey want.

Before I dey among people wey dey talk say e dey early to condemn this government but they dey busy making confort for themselves and keep telling us say patient na wetin we go do, from that time I come give up say na wetin dey like na em they dey do us because wetin palliative go do us and how many people go take get that the palliative, In my own opinion I prefer revolution if possible because I don't think they will change.

To get anything freedom e no dey always come that easy as some people dey always see am and I believe say many people go reason say as the first protest no bring balance to the country instead e make am bad pass as e been dey say this one go better pass base in wetin them hear from the sponsors oh, that no be true and I go still talk am say we also need people from outside our contri to put eye for this one incase the government wan play smart move on us because as e be anything the government cook nai we go take even if e no sweet so I for like make those people we colonize us make them come to our aid to help this movement strong without any killing and destruction of properties, even if them go like wan take something in return but make we win this protest first, na wetin I think say fit work.

My fear about this protest nah be say the government fit hide the whole tin about their involvement like them do the EndSars own. Nothing spoil if we come out protest and hope say beta go fall out but the thing be say we dey find the beta of the nation but others go dey use their hands hinder am and who I mean by "others"? Nah the thugs wey them go press small tin for hand make them come cause chaos for the place wey the protest dey hold.
Normally, the protest suppose be peaceful one aimed at hitting the nail on the head but because of the disruptions from this thugs e go come be as if we wey dey protest no know wetin we dey do and e go be like say we dey fight against ourselves instead of the government and them go dey look us dey laugh, which na wetin dey make the protest no really dey too hard to workout. I see for X wey person say if the Fulanis join body enter street for this protest say e go tight and I think am say na true so e get as e be for this 2nd protest.

for me the protest idea no be bad idea but before them try to make up another protest for this Nigeria, make them first thing about the last prostest wey happen #ENDSAR# people die but for this I no knoe how e go be. So I for suggest say anything wey them won do make them put one or two of the politician them for body this time, because so many souls done go down well well for thing's concerning protest matter.

for me the protest idea no be bad idea but before them try to make up another protest for this Nigeria, make them first thing about the last prostest wey happen #ENDSAR# people die but for this I no knoe how e go be. So I for suggest say anything wey them won do make them put one or two of the politician them for body this time, because so many souls done go down well well for thing's concerning protest matter.
