This guide might help you understand how provably fair gambling works in reality https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/a-guide-to-how-provably-fair-works-161236

They are called provably fair because there might be still a chance of error when executing results. Each gambling platform have a page to explain how they make results in provably fair ways.

thank you

can you be more exact please,...
imagine: there has to be generated a random number between 1 and 100
how exactly do I make it ?

I recommend reading this page on DiceSites.com to learn about how it works can how you could make one yourself. Just copy a provably fair system that other popular provably fair dice sites use, like PrimeDice/Betking/Bitsler/Crypto-Games.

Dice generates a random number, Roulette generates a random number in a different range or sets certain ranges to be certain numbers on the board, and other games are just variations of reading the random number.

Even if you know if your is probably fair but once you lose, You can't still sleep at night.  Grin

But I agreed on his explanation that is the basic and simplest way to explain the result of a certain gambling type game that used a random result. FYI, widely used for generating random result is the hash of a block.

There are several ways of doing it. One way is the casino can announce a hashed (encrypted) version of a randomly chosen number (using appropriate buffering if the numbers needed are always small, so the same hash never comes up twice) The player can then send their own random number to the casino to make sure the casino really did pick a random number. The casino and player numbers are added, and used for the seed in a known deck-shuffling algorithm (or whatever the game needs) The player plays the game, and then the unhashed number the casino chose is revealed, and the player can check it hashes to what the casino originally stated.

Hi all,

a quick question:

How does probably fair work? I get the basics but there is a lot of conflicting info out there...
How does it go in roulettes? Dices? Spins? Cards?

Imagine there has to come a random number between 1 and 100... how do you make it provably fair?
Making it fair/random is not a problem.

But provably fair...

Any devs with insights here?

Thank you
